Game Information:
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a first-person action-adventure game in which players take control of Faith Connors as she progresses through a futuristic city called Glass. Similar to the original Mirror's Edge, players traverse the city using aspects of urban exploration and parkour movements to complete missions and evade or fight enemies. Players can also make use of environmental objects such as zip-lines and ledges, and equipment including Mag Rope and Disruptor[3] to travel across buildings. When players mark an objective on their map, Faith's "runner vision" is activated and some scenery items automatically highlight in red. These act as guides to lead players towards their objective. The use of levels and linear gameplay found in the first Mirror's Edge has been replaced with an open-world, free-roaming environment. This gives players more freedom in traversal, allowing for the use of multiple paths to reach one's objective. In addition to the campaign's mission, side activities such as time trials, races and environmental puzzles will be featured. DICE also promises that no loading screen will be included in the final game, allowing for freedom to travel within all areas without loading delays. Additionally, items called Gridleaks can be found across the world that can be collected by players.

For anyone like me, who loves high rise buildings, arcologies and rooftops, this game was paradise. Sometimes i go to sleep at night wishing i'd wake up in The Shard the next morning. I could easily spend the rest of my life on a place like that.

The grappling hook seems like it could be utilized for everything, why bother climbing?
It's not a grappling hook exactly, it's a magnetic device that only lets you grapple onto specific points. So it's very useful, but not so useful that it ruins the climbing/free running element of the game.

This was the most gut wrenching part ever in the game. It felt like I was swinging on the fan
Faith Connors and Kyle Crane can non-hesitantly do crazy parkour with 1,000 foot drops beneath them, meanwhile my fear of heights skyrockets when I ride a ferris wheel.

If they added in a stamina bar mechanic in-game, it could've increased the realism factor, but that could've been annoying since the game is meant to be fast-paced and fun to play, not a full-on parkour simulator.

Aside from the red stuff which can be turned off, I feel like it's still holding your hand... that floating little android thing and the fact they had to place footprints on the wall to make clear you have to walljump, when it's the only option available... bit too much for me, but still pretty nice overall

I think you would get motion-sick because of all the stuff happening and the high altitude.
people are so pussies nowadays. Oh I get motion sick. Fuck sake man. It's a game you don't like it? Don't play it.
+PSUC3 I can't tell if you are joking or not... But It's not that the game has high altitude or people just don't like the game, it is a mix of the character's movement being too erratic, not having proper peripheral vision with your eyes (so everything seems cramped), and then the display screen being smashed up to your face. Combine that with the feeling that you are falling or high up but your physical body is on solid ground and not moving. It creates a lot of mental problems. That's what makes you get motion sickness. I'm sure there are other factors as well, but from what I've read so far, VR headsets still need some design improvements to fix issues with motion sickness and comfort.

Yup, first level, sure, refreshers, getting to grips with the mechanics, but if you need hand-holding at this point of the game, that's bad game design.

The MAG is such a lame concept. It's like a cheap way to make it seem like you're still doing cool parkour, when in reality it just is promoting lazy level design.
