i've been a transit lover for about as long as i can remember, and i do remember the original!! love this paint choice but also love how its as useful and every day as it has always been. ford always make great vans and im so very glad to see it hasnt changed
Appreciate the blurb on the figures etc but need info on the configuration of the inside, the tech and how it can adapt on the inside of the cab, seats etc. Also drop that fretless semi acoustic bass 😂😂
+LANDLORD ROB HO really it depends on what you want, as they’re both equally capable. The VW has more lifestyle appeal whilst the Transit is more practical. Entirely down to what you want it for really.
I've got a 2015 Limited and am about to trade it in for the newer model but am put off by the striped/spoiler 'racer boy' look. I'd prefer it with the same power but without the 'Essex Boy' look. I like the Wolf in Sheep's clothing look personally.
@@TheAutoDad it will be for my business and using for family holidays . So a bit of both, I couldn’t do a conversation as would need it for my work equipment
It’s definitely cheaper, but bang for buck I think the Ford offers better all round. Transporters hold their money primarily due to cult status, however a well equipped Transit will also hold value very well. :)
Build quality is far better as are the amount of extras for the money. VW are good. I had a T6 for a year but then drove one of these and realised that I was simply paying through the nose for a badge. Guess you either buy vans for status or practicality.
Gary Churchill I agree but like I said before it’s all about resale value for me. I’ve just sold my t5.1 and had it for seven years and I only lost £1700 because it was put through the business so not bad. You wouldn’t get that from the ford.
The Dukes of Hazzard meets the A-Team or what?

That’s great to hear Paul, the years haven’t changed their message then.
Love this mate, seriously great video. What an amazing van, Ford have done a great job.

Hi Tom. For a young family who are into their road trips, which of the two would you opt for: VW Transporter or Ford Transit Custom. Many thanks. Rob
+LANDLORD ROB HO really it depends on what you want, as they’re both equally capable. The VW has more lifestyle appeal whilst the Transit is more practical. Entirely down to what you want it for really.
@@TheAutoDad Thank you Sir.
Are the windows in the rear doors sliding or hinged on this model ??
I believe they were hinged.

+Gary Churchill is it not something which can be optioned out? I’ve seen them without the stripe for sure.
Hi great review do the sport vans all have the 170 ps and also I’ve seen on a review a normal 240 v plug socket under the front seats
Cheers Steve
I believe they come in two engine outputs but can the sure. Mine didn’t have a 240v socket under the seats sadly, likely an option.
Great review and lovely van..but have Ford addressed the rubbish door lock yet??If they haven't they are so easy to break into..
I’m unsure to be honest, however I’d guess if they’re aware of the issue they’ve probably tried to reenforce those areas a little bit.
Great review...Tailgate or Barn doors?
I like barn doors, but realistically it’s tailgate because when it’s raining you’ve got cover.
Hi Tom, how did you find the auto gearbox on the van?
Very well. Definitely liked it, but was later made aware that the power shift box can be troublesome on certain years.
Biggest let down is the speaker😥
I have choice between this or a Transporter ? 🤔🤔🤔😐
Depends entirely what you're using it for and if you're hoping for a good residual value. :)
@@TheAutoDad it will be for my business and using for family holidays . So a bit of both, I couldn’t do a conversation as would need it for my work equipment
How much is the road tax for this van?
It would entirely depend on spec, as once over a certain price it'll be hit by extra tax.
But , how does the engine do compare against VW transporter , 450 ? ... Not so sporty I guess
Against the diesel variants it does very well, however can’t be compared to the 2.0 TSI.
TomKentMusic didn’t know they do tsi for Trabsporters
In the UK you can get a 2.0 TSI 4MOTION with a potential 300+bhp output.
Wow here in AU not, and Ford only comes in one engine power :(( Not like options you have in UK . Only basic power
That’s a real shame. I’m sure it’s still a great vehicle, what outputs do the Ford’s come in?
What the engine size
I believe this one was the 2.0 diesel.
£36,000!?
Not cheap, I know!
Really 😂 good
Dam that MF’s mighty fine
What Sort of kms You expect out of the life of the motor?Toyota Hiace Van's ,Get big kms out of them on nz,good 2nd hand vehicles to buy
It will be very very high, as all previous generations of Transit are.
Best van in the world 😂😂😂. You mean the cheaper alternative to a vw transporter which is far superior than the ford and holds its money better.
It’s definitely cheaper, but bang for buck I think the Ford offers better all round. Transporters hold their money primarily due to cult status, however a well equipped Transit will also hold value very well. :)
TomKentMusic I did spec a transit custom sport and it was still 40k so it needs to hold its money.
