Repairs look good!!! I'm STILL flying my gws beaver from 25 years ago!!! It has more glue n tape in it probably than it has foam but she still flies.....better than I can!! I dont usually bother with the cosmetics too much after though because I like the "worn" look....but that's just me. I can respect a comprehensive repair.
Carbon rods should be glued right up to sides...any ca works with epo and epp foam planes..also ca activator works with all regular ca brands..you were lucky foam wa not deformed very much other wise you would have had to dip parts in boiling water to restore orginal shape... thanks for sharing.
Great video. I would have never attempted this. It looks like total loss. Now I see what can be done. I’m going to check out a hot glue gun. I’ve never used before. Thanks
I have planes that are entirely built with hot glue. I also have planes built with 5 minute epoxy. I find the epoxy to be the strongest but hot glue is a very close second but I'm also comparing to the cheap hot glue. There are hot glue sticks on the market that are stupid strong. I'm also just now experimenting with gorilla glue and holy crap it's strong!!! I find that if you spritz it with water first then stir it and let sit for a few minutes it's better to work with. There's lotsa videos on it.
would you recommend i try repairing a foamy with a few minor cracks and tears with some epoxy and clear tape because that’s unfortunately all i have at the moment.
33 minets to understand how to mend foam together? i mean i just have one of them cheap foam glider kitsthats litterly bought anywater that has a toy isle and the wing broke off and i anted to make sure it would work
Nice to see you do this. Pretty sad shape, and you fixed it. So cool. Thank you.

You can fill those gaps and depressions with flexible spackle. It won't cause heat damage like the hot glue gun.
Flexible spackle? I always just used light weight spackel...never heard of flexible spackel...
I have repaired"foamies", but learned a lot from your video. Anxious to watch part 2. Thanks! 👍
Great repair!!
New drinking game: Take a shot every time he says "foam safe". Thanks for the video.

When using hot glue you can use parchment paper to pull off and smooth out excess glue without it sticking to the paper and only to the repair area.
To smooth out hot glue I use a wet finger smoothes out the glue and stops your finger sticking to the glur
Foam safe CA is not necessary on most foam today. Eps, yes, but all the newer foams are CA friendly
Yes e6000 and ca eats right through eps planes, but epoxy works great with eps foam...but i only have one 2 of those..lol

Depends on the epoxy. If the epoxy dries rock hard then no I would not use it, it would nice to have a little flex.
Special hot glue sticks?
I wish you could help me fix my bad damaged new Vulcan 6s
Foam glue or hot glue with a broke in half fuselage ?
Both depends on the break. I like to use hot glue where i need some filler for the break. Just foam safe CA if there is no compressed or missing foam.
What is CA
Super glue is called ca,they are 100s of brands but its all basically super glue formulations, thick, meduim and thin..
"Landed poorly" ...really? What gave you that idea? Lol
