      ​@kirailgun3800 mighty charge was the single hardest hitting attack in the beta, iirc. Even more than greatsword true charge slash. When you're constantly charging with hammer anyway and the extra buildup towards mighty is so short nothing is ever gonna beat it.
      Hopefully they recognize this and will balance the motion values better come full release cus as it stands there's very little reason to use any of the rest of the hammer moveset beyond just not getting bored doing the same thing constantly.

    i don't know if i just missed it during the video or if you don't know, but you can actually use your focus attack while attack and without losing the charge! which was really usefull when i did Rey Dau on my own.
    Also great run and thx for making me discovered that you can combo the base combo into the super charged attack, that look actually sick!! This may be the best version of hammer we got yet!

    I do agree that his move set is pretty slow, specifically these moves:
    0:40 has too slow of a cool down
    0:47 this could chain into other attacks, like a second wing sweep with less wind up or a head but, make it randomized to.
    2:42 too slow of a cool down
    3:50 much like the first one, and to slow of a cool down
    4:07 this can also be chained with other attacks, much like what i said about 0:47
    His main problem is having too long of a cool down, and he take to much breaks between certain attacks. Other than that, we love our flying base canon.

    Nice fight. I really like Rey Dau but agree it's slow. I like hammers' new moves, but sadly haven't found much use for big bang or spinning bludgeon. It seems hammers' passive hit and run playstyle has taken a small step back for a more aggressive approach (unsure on how I feel about this). Great vid, would like to see an analysis from you.

    I love the design of Rey Dau, especially the sound design. But like you said the moveset if almost too simple. Most attacks have a full 3-4 second wind up. But it's definitely a really great mid game monster. I hope the other new ones are also great.
    One thing i really miss is the hitstop from World tough, i hope they will bring it back in the final game or have an option for it.

      @@Tsuru8688 No, hitstop means weapon feedback. The small stop/impact when you hit a monster with your weapon, especially heavy hitting ones like hammer and greatsword.
      So far in Wilds the weapons just kinda go through monsters like thin air.

      @@kwedl But there literally is hitstop? You can genuinely see it on every attack in this video.
      Yes, the lighter weapons don't have as much/lack any hitstop but those are the lighter weapons so I don't know what you expect.

      @@FishyMirage There is a tiny bit at most for the heavy weapons, for the rest basicly nothing. And yes it is important for every weapon typeaside from maybe bowguns for feedback.
      There is also a big different between watchnig gameplay and actually playing.
      Go play the beta and turn off damage numbers and you will often not be able to tell if you actually hit a monster or not.

    Absolutely agree with the fsct that monsters leave too often without a proper reason, it breaks the combat pace and it's not fun even with the seikret, hope it gets toned down or at least I hope they'll give us a more complete arena mode where you can fight every monster of the game for the sake of challenge

    Yup thats also my issue with the beta...the monster leaves the area after like a few hits. Its cool to ride around and explore the map because its in beta but if the release going to be the same then its going to get annoying real fast...

    i think i had more issue in terms of learning the fight with alpha doshaguma than rey dau in terms of difficulty. rey dau has the same energy as rathian to me which is why i feel like i had an easy time picking up on it.

    loaded up the wilds beta and my pc couldn't even hold 30fps at lowest settings :( time to invest

    Mentally I put it on the threat level of an Anjanath, it didn't feel Rathalos or Diablos strong to me.

    Glad to see that you're at least capable of using the Hammer. I find the new moveset to be unneedlessly overcomplicated. Almost like it's been given a Long Sword or Charge Blade moveset, while we all just want to Charge the Hammer and UNGA BUNGA all the way. The only monster I've been able to kill with the Hammer without getting enraged by the new moveset is Chatacabra, but that's just hit twice and Focus Strike all the way through.
    So they sadly lost me to LBG or Sword and Shield and maybe even the Lance. But as long as the base game doesn't get the UNGA BUNGA Power Charge moveset back, I'll leave the Hammer hanging until the expansion or the next game.

      How bad are you at this game? Before trying to even learn the new moveset I hunted every monster just using lvl 3 charge and big bang combo.

      @@Sparty450 I know, but the regular Charge attacks are never the optimal ones and the Mighty Charge not just needs extra input, it also feels very lackluster and hard to time versus the Strength Hammer playstyle from World and Rise where you just had 1 great swing that had to be timed well.

      @@tacomaster141 I did learn the new moveset on a Chatacabra. But from the moment I get to a harder monster the hammer just feels too much extra or too weak. That's it.
      I simply prefer the simple Power Charge into Charge level 3, position yourself correctly and Boom. In that way you can learn the monsters moveset and abuse the downtimes. While now you have to take your own downtime in account.
      The normal Level 3 Charge is simply too weak, it's always been weak and it's weak yet again. The big bang combo is hardly ever used by anyone that wants to speedrun or at least win in a decent time. I've only seen Lynn try it once it was buffed in the last patch in Sunbreak and that was only because it barely outperformed the normal Charge attacks.
      I've fought Balahara's around 10 minutes with LBG, Lance, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades and Insect Glaive. But than I try the Hammer and I can't even go below 18 minutes.
