Gradient Basics 3: Elliptical Gradient (using Affinity Photo)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- The Ellipse gradient creates a gradient from the centre of an ellipse to its edge. Here's how to use it in Affinity Photo and also how to create a custom vignette that darkens the edges of the image.

Such great videos. Affinity Photo is such a comprehensive application, It's good to revisit these videos a few times as a reminder. These videos are comprehensive too.
Thank you for a very informative video I found it really interesting, I did not know where the elliptical gradient tool was until I watched your video thank you
Didn't realize there were so many options. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Very helpful and thank you.
how do u do it so its just a white circcle no black border cause i managed to do it once but not again
Look at the top context menu bar. The 'Fill' is the colour of the circle, while the 'Stroke' is the colour of the border. To remove either, click on the menu item and set opacity to zero or click on the circle with a red line through it. You can also set the stroke width to zero.
Very interesting, tks. After apply, how could be modify?
When using separate pixel layer for ellipse, you can do things like adjust it with a paintbrush, darkening and lightening areas. You can change its colour (eg. with Recolour adjustment) to such as white (for fade-out) or a matching colour. You can change the centre (use Move tool). Or whatever else suits.
After Apply, the Gradient dissaper. I need change the size for example. In PS, is too much simple. Show this.
Yes, this happens with pixel layers. To keep the gradient for re-editing, use them in a shape. Here's how: ua-cam.com/video/kcyDpAgZ4jU/v-deo.html
