@@veilcerpintaxtlessI did get this watch, and I can honestly tell you that it is excellent in every way. If you like the style, I completely recommend you buy it. I'm sure you'll be very happy.
Chris, would you ever own an homage watch like this Seestern at this point? It seems watch-related content creators always steer clear of this hot topic, so I’m glad you reviewed it. It was also nice to hear a positive review of the Seestern. In est. 2014-2016 it was not as taboo to say you owned an homage. Enthusiasts said they were gateway watches and were an affordable way to experience a style or look. But things have changed. Now you’re condemned for admitting to owning one. Let’s face it though, the greed that exists with Swiss luxury watch brands should make you sick. If it doesn’t your just numb to the sticker shock or still too entranced by the hobby to notice. I was there once. My watch collecting journey has taken me full circle and I’ve been lucky enough to build from the bottom and experience the top. I now really enjoy the homage pieces and I don’t see much reason to overpay…even at retail…for names with long history.
I wear homage watches but only of vintage pieces that are no longer in production and where an original would cost 5 or 6 digits. I have a Steinhart milsub and I just pulled the trigger on this one as well. I also have an Omega and a sub but I think there's a place for (some) homages
Ive got tudors , rados , high end seikos and tag heuer , but ive got this seesturn, because i love the design. I got it today on ebay , preowned but basically new for £142 , and mine has a starfish and seesturn on the clasp ? I expected it to be plain as there wasnt a photo of the clasp, so i was surprised to see it. I actually like the feel and fit better than my tudors , its a great watch for little money. If you get one of these and then save up for a tudor , then you might be disappointed that the tudor feels similar but a lot heavier. My tudor black bay s and g 41mm now costs 5k new , and this seesturn feels better dimensions wise. Good review by the way .
Awesome value for money. And a great price for us plebs who can't afford the Rolex or Tudor. Something to enjoy while I save up for the Christopher Ward.
Great value for money. I bought an Olko Steinhart vintage gmt 39mm which is very similar to this, but with 300m of water resistance and a Selita 330 movement. But, its over twice the price of the Seestern.
This watch may be my grail. I have a Pagani 1693, which is ok, but no match for this Seestern. I also have a Chronotac automatic which I have great affection for. It interpreted the Rolex dial as a military issue, with the broad arrow at 6 o’clock and the encircled T up by 12. In any event, I was captivated by the Rolex orgin story; as you know, it was developed for cave exploration, to prevent the loss of day/night perception. That’s why the bezel is fixed. It can be used as a gmt, but the true purpose of the 4th hand is to track the 24hr time, again for orientation during extended periods of time underground. It’s also useful above the polar circle, where the sun either never sets or never comes up. That’s why the white dial version of the Explorer II was developed. I enjoyed your review; very objective.
Rolex Ex 2 1655 went out of production years ago, so I applaud these homages that allow us to get hold of these designs. I have one, it is outstanding..
I‘ve just seen this video today, and after some hours I’ve decided to order it. It looks that great, and even if it’s a kind of homage watch, I don’t really care. So I am looking forward to receive the watch directly from PRC.
Looks great on the wrist for a good price. I have 2 Seesterns and they are very well made, but Customer Service is crap. I'm asking now for more than a year a replacement part they promissed to send, but still waiting. Now they don't answer anymore... So I won't take a risk on buying another watch from Seestern at the moment....
Great looking affordable watch. Reminds me of a Steinhart homage with that silver bezel. Did you mention the lug-to-lug? I'd love to see your review of the new Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Titanium Ceramic. Thanks.
Had this watch for about 5 days now and let’s just say, I’m a bit confused. When I shake it, you cannot feel the rotor spinning, so I tested the power reserve, it last about 20 hrs then it stops. I feel the QC missed it and they sent me an incomplete movement. Specs and aesthetics I give it a 8/10. The clasp is a bit clunky. Not confident enough to open it and check but I’m suspicious…. To add to your comment about being an NH34, I’m wondering if they purposely took out the rotor to make it fit into the smaller case,🤔
UPDATE: I opened the watch and in fact there is a rotor but it was stuck, so I moved it side to side and kind of picked up motion. I closed it up and shook and now I can feel the rotor moving. Makes me feel better about this watch.
Instead of saying "micro adjust" a few times as a highlight...say "on the fly adjustment system" cuz that's what it is and that's what is a desirable feature. 95% of watches have micro adjust lol
Great video Chris!!! Really love the look and features of this watch. Steinhart make a near identical watch to this at triple the price. Always wanted one, but a little too rich for my blood. So I will definitely pick up one of these. I have 2 seesterns already (300T and 600T homages) and both are super well made and the lume is fantastic. Hopefully this has the same build quality as those. Would you say that it has the same build quality? Thanks again
The Steinhart is easily three times the watch. With a Swiss movement, no ugly fauxtina, a cyclops date magnifier, better overall quality, and literally three times the water resistance. you are also not supporting China when buying the Steiny.
You're quite right there. I brought this up with Seestern's Customer Argumentation, sorry, Customer Service Dept., who said a) that it wasn't, b) that it was a tiny detail that wouldn't hurt their sales, and c) that the original was like that 🤷😆
Finally i found a channel that doesn’t do copy cats😂😂😂 I just hate other channels because all they do is feature all the same watch and brand again and again😊
Hey Chris, what was the lug width on this, sorry if I missed it? If 20mm do you think / know whether this would fit the Halios Seaforth 4? If so I am tempted to buy it just so I can utilise the bracelet!!!🤣 Great value watch though, exactly what the Seiko 5 should be. 👍
I can't be the 1st one to ask, why didn't they name the brand Seastern? Anyhoo, this one is meh, but their Doxa and the Sugess Blancpain homage watches are super nice.
@@Jimmy_Cream original design is not an homage of anything. Yes it’s tru they all ultimately do the same thing but taking the design from another brand is not innovative nor original.

You review Chinese cheap homages all the way to fine luxury watches. Shows you the real love of watches you have! Also this watch looks really good.
One of the best affordable/value for money gmt out there.
Seestern does it again!
A homage to two different watches with the main design format having been discontinued in the 70's is just fine. Ordered one.
I ordered this watch, and should be getting it soon. Absolutely insane what Seestern is offering for the money. Thank you for reviewing.
Did you get it? What are your impressions thus far?

Not as good as the Vanbanner Adroit but ...

This is WINNING!!!
How does this compare to the new hruoland
This is very tempting for the price. I actually like the no crown guards.
Very nice watch. Is the movement original Seiko or a copy?
Love the watch. It's too small for my taste and plus, the 8 form the 18 on the bezel is upside down.

ah yes the watch with the non moving bezel
