If super jump is ever removed, those who can't do it would be delighted as it would mean Mercy would be balanced without considering super jump. Or you know... just make super jump an official feature of her kit where you can do it easily.
i dont think blizzard will do it since the super jump was a bug at first and was waaaay crazier than it is right now. blizzard implemented the jump into the game on porpuse
OMG thank you so much for this in depth guide!! I already know most of these jumps but it is really cool to see the technical side of it, exactly how they work e.t.c. I will be sure to share it will my friends cause this is a great guide :D also, this is also one of my favorite guides: ua-cam.com/video/-5rWnUDA4ew/v-deo.html it goes into a bit more depth for backwards ga specifically, so maybe if you make a backwards ga guide later you can use some of the tips. What is really interesting is that you can backwards ga in valk, because the line of thinking is "I need to jump when I am slightly above the target" instead of "I need to jump right before I hit the ground". Using this logic it is possible to backwards ga in valk, which I find very interesting (ive never been able to pull it off lol but andriatic makes it look cool) great content as always!!
@@Andriatic LOL np i plug your vid everywhere haha I think it works fine with the captions, but if you wanted to make the vid flow smoother then yeah, maybe add your voice but captions work fine for me :)
Although while these jumps can save you from time to time, it's hard to use them often and reliably. Not a top priority thing to learn as Mercy. Even without adding them to your gameplay, you can still have very good death ratio. It's possible to achieve something close to 4.50 deaths/10 minutes without using them which is already top in that stat (let's say with more than 100h on her, with lower hours you can even go below 4 deaths).
@@davidvila5053 I disagree, I think the standard super jump which sends you straight up thats been around for the past 2+ years is extremely relaible for avoiding flankers and other DPS

Came here from the YO shoutout. Wasn't prepared for such a well made and thorough movement guide. I almost never play mercy but this video gave me a new respect for mercy's skill ceiling. Well done!
One thing I noticed when testing out mercy techs, is that there are a number of techs you can do with 'ga prefers beam target' that cant be done otherwise-- namely techs in which you ga to an ally, who is fully obstructed by a piece of cover. This can be a really consistent way of pulling of obstacle superjumps, and I also found that it lets you do some really good well bounces off round surfaces, that give you a really sudden change in momentum along a certain axis.
Okay as a newcomer this is a MASSIVE gamechanger for me. I ONLY play Mercy and didnt knew this crazy movement was even possible! Thank you so much for the detailed video! :3
I've had to teach so many of my friends how to super jump and now, I just tell them to check out your channel because you're a lot of help! I don't know whether to be proud that they are able to do it or sad that they are stealing my main ;-;
I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Especially the parts about using the terrain to your advantage when normally it is the bane of my existence because I get caught on objects or enemies, my planned GA gets messed up, and then I have no idea what to do and I panic. and they say mercy requires no skill LUL
Hey Niandra! I started playing this game about 3-4 months ago and the current season has been my first comp season. I recently hit plat and I think I can say I owe a lot of it to you! Your guides are really helpful and I just love your vids 😁 Keep up the great work!
Dark souls of GA, that's the best indicator for this backward super jump. I honestly did it all the time by accident, and only once it was planned on practical range. Thank you for this video!
THIS VIDEO IS SO HELPFUL! However one thing I've learned is that the so called "falling ga jump" can be done just by jumping and then timing it correctly. It's quite hard to learn at first but once you get the hang of it, it's quite handy
Words can not express how much I needed this video, I'm also so excited for your workshop. Also I died with the difficulty of backwards ga being shown as: the dark souls of ga.
I honestly didn’t want to watch this bc I already know literally all of these jumps, but I’m glad I did because it still taught me when I should be using wish one
thank you so much!! You're my go to mercy source. I'm not a high level mercy player even tho i know all the jumps but your guides help out alot! Thank you once again
I just learned how to super jump yesterday. (I wasn't understanding that you need to GA during the animation where Mercy goes from standing to crouching, not while you are croucing) I've been watching your Mercy vods and am really enjoying your channel as a whole. I appreciate the work you put in and I'm hoping I can join you in GM by the time Overwatch 2 drops! lol
I remember when I first started playing mercy, and I was unaware what a super jump was, I always did backwards SJ accidentally and never understanding what to do. Then when I actually learned what a Superjump was, I kept practicing and soon managed it. Can no longer do backwards sj consistently lol, but fun to look back at how confused I was
Thank you for making this video. I've been trying to do the Crouch GA jump for so long never got the timing of it down. Let hope this will help me master it and I can climb out of Silver.
Came back to overwatch and was wondering why Mercy's were just better in general. I'm assuming they saw this video. Thanks for improving the quality of Mercy mains and even for casual Mercy players (me). great vid!
I have also caught on to the jump GA combo, ive actually had weird interactions with GA when pressing jump first, sometimes i get GAs that get REALLY good height and idk how to consistently do it but itd be REALLY useful in niche situations. Def worth looking into if possible!

I'd like to add at least one more technique in the jump repertoire: the valkyrie superjump ress. It might also be fun to train how to superjump ress and control your momentum so you end up on high ground after the superjump ress. Then if there's one thing that is not as intuitive but definitely something every mercy main has to train, would be valkyrie resurrection and weaving behind various terrains.
