Reuploaded the video cuz I got some comments about the original being too quiet so I rerendered the video with the volume bumped up (which I normally do but forgot to the first time round) Also I've been playing LIS 2 over Christmas which inspired me to do a bunch of slightly animated squiggle drawings and ngl I am really happy with them, it is a very good new gimmick. Lemme know if there's any videos you wanna see in future cuz I don't have anything planned atm!
Niandra Quick question, if you say had a shield hero like Zen, Sym or Zarya, and others needed healing, I heal the health, and then leave the shield if others need health, would that be okay? I don’t think anyone has mentioned this before but picked it up.
I was thinking of mentioning this but it ended up getting cut cuz video length - I think it's generally okay as long as you keep track of that ally, maybe watch em as you heal someone else, and they're not like super aggressively positioned
I'd love to see a vid about Zenyatta's spot as a support and what you think could be done to make him more playable - he doesn't have to be meta, but maybe small changes could make life easier for Zen mains in the era of Doomfist?
FlyArrow mercy became a lot harder when her healing got lowered. She used to get away with sloppy plays because of the extra buffer her higher healing allowed for. Now it’s a lot more critical that you’re doing the right thing at the right time. The same just happened with Moira. They lowered her healing and it made it so that her heal orbs are SO much more important than damage orbs. It used to not matter much which orb you’d use since her primary could generally make do anyways but not so much anymore.
Mcfricking Loser omg me, I feel such a sense of achievement when the enemy mercy comes in for a Rez, like she’s forgotten I have a blaster, and I’m just there to say no it ain’t happening🤷🏻♀️
For someone who recently learned how to superjump, thank you so much for this tip: "Using superjump to position instead of using it as positioning" I'll try to be more aware on how i use my superjump from now on!
I'm on console and I always used to find myself resting on primary fire which was healing at the time and switching to damage boost and sometimes my timing would be off so it wouldn't be beneficial. So I decided to change primary fire to damage boost and switching to heals, this let me get a more consistent use of damage boost and actually helped with my healing prioritisation because I wasn't autopiloting and had to switch buttons to heal instead of damage boost and now I've just got used to having it the opposite way round lol. Apologies for the thesis.
@@Keesuhh I don't know if it'll help but I've got crouch bound to square instead of circle and reload on circle. I find it easier to press at the same time as GA.
Niandra, when you glide as mercy, it takes a second for the wings to expand. If you pepper the glide button accordingly. You can essentially glide with your wings contracted. There is an audio cue for her wings expansion. Try it! I would test it in custom games first
your tip about rezzing with the help of hanzo dragon as cover is a great one for mid rank players. been using it for ages now and it’s super useful even in high ranks👀👀
Im a rein main, and this is really interesting. I might give mercy a try one day. Thanks for this video, it really made me appreciate mercy mains a bit more.
Your tips on damage boosting rlly helped me. In just the first match I tried to do it more, instead of my average damage boosted of 399 I boosted 1300! And my team was still fine on heals
Xbox tip (maybe PS4 idk): Don’t hold angelic descent but it has the same button for Rez on console and you can accidentally Rez in the middle of 6 people lol
Adnan Khan I’ve accidentally killed my self so many times because I have such a bad habit of holding it down and I started rezing someone in my flight path. I’ve gotten better about it now but I wish we could unbind angelic decent from that button, I just haven’t been able to get used to rez on something else
Ugh, this they really need to fix it. Just yesterday we lost the team fight and I was the last one alive, I wanted to contest and I accidentally rez’d the rein
Chelsea T ikr I tried to swap the controls around after I realised that holding down A is also for angelic descent but it didn’t work because I had to swap jump to somewhere else which was never gonna work for me because literally every game I’ve played in my life uses A (or the button in the same place) to jump.
My biggest problem with playing Mercy is I tend to pistol for too long when using Valkyrie, I really need to learn to go back to healing/damage boosting when I miss my first few shots.
Your videos are so educational, yet they are a joy to watch. That's because there are so many amusing details and your drawings and animations have so much personality! Keep up the good work. Thank you so much!
Great video! With falling rezs here’s a tip I do that wasn’t mentioned! Yes, it can be dangerous to slowly fall while you Rez because an enemy may be nearby and so you mentioned that you will let go and just cancel. Instead of fully cancellingi like to do something that I call a Fakeout Falling Rez. Here is how it works: 1. When you jump up to the soul fly higher than it, so that when you start the Rez you are looking down at the soul (make sure you look down because there is a slight pause in movement where you reach the apex of the jump...looking down reduces your head hit box)2. Start the Rez and let yourself fall normally (fast, like I’m going to cancel) for one second (you can count in your head “one Mississippi”)3. Hold descent for the last .7 seconds of the animation. This puts you on the very outskirts of the Rez range and if you practice enough, you will very rarely cancel it. The reason I do this is to psyche out any nearby enemies (especially snipers). They will see you start a Rez, line up a headshot, then suddenly you’re falling really fast and miss, then suddenly once again you’re slow, causing them to miss again or get ready for another headshot, by that time your Rez is done and you can fall safely to the floor. I do this A LOT, it works great even in high ranked games and I often get complements from my teammates saying that “That Rez looked cool!” Highly recommend this method :) hope it goes well fellow Mercy players!
I struggle knowing when its a good time to use valk but one time I know when it is good time to valk is when we get a pick so its a 6v5 and no one has used ults (maybe 1 or 2). Its mainly because valk can help secure the win of the fight and if you're the first team to get a pick, it signals the team to push up which is perfect for valk.
Great tips, I definitely learned a lot even as someone with over 100 hours on mercy. Any advice for someone who is usually too afraid to go for most rezzes? My average rezzes is pretty low most games, sometimes even zero, and pretty often I feel like after a fight there was a rez I could have gotten off but just didn’t want to risk it at the time. I still win a lot of games so maybe I shouldn’t worry about it so much but at the same time I feel like I can be making more big plays with it. Anyone’s advice is appreciated :)
Chelsea T try to predict the situation 2 seconds in the future, if you think everyone would be ok then perhaps it’s worth it If you’re really anxious about the ability to resurrect then ask the team if they can assist in resurrecting your downed squadmate, if they can’t help you then it’s probably not a viable resurrect anyway
The Looinrims Thanks for the advice! I definitely try my best to read the teamfights and Id like to think I’m good at it for the most part. My gamesense is always great at the beggining and end of fights but I always get overwhelmed in the middle of hectic fights and end up tunnel visioning, I’m trying to get better about that and I have over time I’m definitely guilty of not talking as much as I should in games, mostly cause I usually play qp these days and don’t want to bother. Once I get back into comp I’m definitely gonna start talking more tho
Chelsea T Don't worry, I sometimes have 0-3 Rez games as well. I don't look at it as bad play, but more like bad opportunities. Like she said, what's the point of getting a successful Rez if they're just going to die again. People get mad at me sometimes but I'm not about to go into a 6v1 to revive a soldier.
Joel Rob Yeah that’s a good point. If I get no rezzes in a game but we still win I usually don’t think about it, but if we lose sometimes I start thinking maybe it’s because of a rez I didn’t go for. I’m gonna start looking for more opportunities in game but I’m also gonna try to not worry about it so much if I still don’t get any
Chelsea T Another way I like to Rez (usually with friends and coordination though) is a "flank Rez". Basically, a genji or tracer "guides" you through a flanking route, you go for a sneaky Rez, then fly back to said flanker for a quick escape. I usually have a decent success rate for it but like I said, it requires a lot of coordination.
i just finished playing a game with lower beam sens and it helped so much. im mid-high gold and picking a critical ally in a group of bunched up teammates was always hard but now it's so much easier
love your videos! when i got the notification that you uploaded that immediately made my day! 💕 edit - also your videos have had so much impact on my gameplay, i was a sliver in season 18 and climbed to plat in season 19 following your tips, etc. thank you so much!
3:25 hurt me. Video was awesome, I'm a Mercy that keeps hovering in silver and gold. One thing I do fail at is making sure I am out of the fight and pulling my pistol out too often. Thank you for the tips!!
Safe to say, this is the most informative and well-created mercy guide I have ever watched. The amount of useful tips is amazing and they are even displayed in very helpful ways. Thank you so much!
Even after the Mercy buff, which I can absolutely feel the impact of, this is an insanely helpful video. I've been slowly crawling my way up thru plat, but coming back to this videos to focus on the basics, to focus on fundamentals instead of anything fancy or complicated is a breath of fresh air and the mental reset I needed. I'm not going to blame myself for not focusing so hard lately because it's uhhh been a wild ride this year personally, but now that I have some free time and free mental capacity since I graduated (from ~law school~ pls clap), it's nice to get back to dedicating time and energy to actively working on mechanics
YOU WEREN'T KIDDING ON STREAM WHEN YOU SAID THIS WAS HIGH QUALITY so in depth, so educational, so many little things I didn't know about, like cancelling GA while in midair after a jump to reset the cooldown quicker... definitely one of the best mercy guides out there for mercy players who want to utilise every part of her kit!! thank you for the Big Education niandra
I’ve watched all these mercy vids to help me climb and try again and it’s worked and helped me so much! I’ve climbed from two ranks thanks to these vids I realised what I was doing wrong and fixed them. Thanks for the tips Niandra ❤️

Brilliant mercy guide! I'm trying to main as Brig but I find turning to Mercy when the team doesn't understand how to play with Brig. So this was very helpful. Great guide!
This video kinda helped me, I sorta figured most of this on my own and you have said A LOT of this before, now it’s in one video. I think it’s also important to clearify mercy super jump to position not for positioning because hits can exist in the game!!
Awesome tips! I’m now hitting around 1200-1800 damage boost every game, sometimes more, while before I was scared to let my teammates get too low on health and would only get about 600-800. Granted (a dedicated healing) Moira usually outheals me now but I can live with it. 😅 hopefully I continue to improve, because I love playing Mercy, over Moira. Moira is just so easy. (I have 200 hours on her and only 100 on Mercy) anyways, I’m rambling. Good stuff! 💖
My coach actually sent me this to watch.. I honestly think one of the biggest things I'm going to try to add to my gameplay is holding right click and tapping left for healing. A lot of the other things I already do to an extent, I just need to get better with. The mobility is the main thing I gotta improve and making sure I don't GA too far.. I end up slingshotting myself more than anything alse
At first it was covering things I already knew but then got into stuff like guardian angel uses. I watched this awhile ago when I was a plat mercy but now these tips have gotten me up to master. Thx
Niandra hahaha I still remember on yesterday’s stream when you were talking about hiding mercy head hit box then a widow sniped you. But yeah I agree with most of the mistakes in this video nice job 👍
About Mercy's passive "Angelic Descent" : You can stop her animation and sound of gliding and opening up her wings if you press the jump key a couple times until she falls on the ground. It nullifies the sound and the glowing/sparkling animation which makes it harder for the enemy to see and hear you, especially on dark maps like Dorado.
will fall back onto this vid and more of yours when i switch to pc. hopefully i can get to masters. wish me luck. and hope you have a great new year of content
I’m still not used to using the damage boost despite playing since day one. I love mercy but I can always learn to use her better and this helps a lot 💝💝💝💝 Thank you so much for the guide!!!!
One of the biggest things to remember is, knowing your surroundings. A lot of times I see a hanzo or widow trying to snipe me, so I use my surroundings to block their line sight, while also healing my team.
what i love about this guide is that unlike other content creators *cough* coach mills from gameleap.com cough* you actually use the footage to back up your examples to great effect. very nice guide. i dont really play that much mercy but your guide makes me wanna play and maximize her impact more in the future.
I don’t even really play this game anymore but still watch each of your videos because it is great to see someone who’s still so passionate about it. Also, the production quality is great. Keep it up, luv u
I play mercy a lot and while I know most of these tips is always good to be reassured that it's a good idea to have some of these mechanics and mindsets in the game
Your videos showed me how to play Mercy proberly. I still do some risky stuff but I do my job very seriously. E.G. today I played alongside Moira and she got 10k in 10 min, I got just 8k. Not much but you said that Mercy can do damage boost which I use a lot. I hit 1.2k damage boost. And that was a lot! I also don't die that much any more (yesterday I had a 10 min match and I just died once) So, thanks for all these advices, tipps and tricks. They are very helpful. Btw, I'm on console but still very helpful!
OKAY SO SHE IS SO RIGHT WHEN IT COMES TO LOOKING DOWN DURING A REZ. BUT YOU CAN ALSO LOOK DOWN WHEN U GET HOOKED. I SURVIVE IT 99% OF THE TIME. LIFE CHANGEDDDDDDDDDDDD
When I die and make up my mind to change my hero and I scream in VC for my mercy to not rez me she does it anyway and when I check she's not even in the VC. 😄😇
Ah the re upload, I tried to comment before and it kept erroring and I didn’t know why lol This video was super informative tho! I loved all the tips, I’m really glad the Ga too was cancelation since it’s not used enough imo. Also, something I wanna mention regarding your Res tips! So as you said you can hide your head hitbox with looking down. Idk if you knew but you can also block your head hitbox with your arm, Mercys arm while ressing blocks the left side of her hitbox so if you face your left side to enemies while ressing you can cover most of it in a pinch :p
Thank you, this was very useful! Im planning on maining mercy and ive looked at so many videos on how to play her right, but i just couldnt find one. Im very thankful for this video. Btw, i love your accent ^^

I'm offended youtube didn't recommend your channel before? this video was amazingly helpful and i can't wait to watch your other vids!
Co-starring me as Moira Corpse Marker
Just Don't Die 4head
I can have a sense of how much work and how much talent are needed in order to produce such beautiful videos.
This video actually helped a lot. I never realised how much I either do wrong, or just didn't know about. Thank you :)
Good stuff! 💖
amazing tips !! i got you on my team about a week or two ago and you were actually the sweetest (:
This was super helpful and well made! Your example vids were perfect in getting your points across
I was here for the quieter video. Also: hard stuck in diamond eeeeeee hope this helps.
i just started playing Mercy, and i really like her! thank you so much for making this video- it helped a lot💕
Thank you!! I recently just made it to comp and mercy expectations have literally SOAAARED!
Thank you these videos are so helpful I got from Silver to low Diamond please keep making videos you really help the community
"beam flicking" Something many guys have yet to master
💀💀
At first it was covering things I already knew but then got into stuff like guardian angel uses. I watched this awhile ago when I was a plat mercy but now these tips have gotten me up to master. Thx
Niandra hahaha I still remember on yesterday’s stream when you were talking about hiding mercy head hit box then a widow sniped you. But yeah I agree with most of the mistakes in this video nice job 👍
we will not speak of that
The wing tanks most of the damage ahahahaha
@@Niandra I will personally tell this story so no one will forget 😘
About Mercy's passive "Angelic Descent" : You can stop her animation and sound of gliding and opening up her wings if you press the jump key a couple times until she falls on the ground. It nullifies the sound and the glowing/sparkling animation which makes it harder for the enemy to see and hear you, especially on dark maps like Dorado.
will fall back onto this vid and more of yours when i switch to pc. hopefully i can get to masters. wish me luck. and hope you have a great new year of content
ty niandra! your videos have helped me so much!
I’m still not used to using the damage boost despite playing since day one. I love mercy but I can always learn to use her better and this helps a lot 💝💝💝💝 Thank you so much for the guide!!!!
So many good points I hadn't thought of, also since you called her a little goblin I now need a Mercy goblin skin, that would be amazing
You're videos are so informative and well done. It's obvoius you put a lot of thoughts and time into them. Thank you so much!
Just found this channel and i just gotta say love your voice
One of the biggest things to remember is, knowing your surroundings. A lot of times I see a hanzo or widow trying to snipe me, so I use my surroundings to block their line sight, while also healing my team.
what i love about this guide is that unlike other content creators *cough* coach mills from gameleap.com cough* you actually use the footage to back up your examples to great effect. very nice guide. i dont really play that much mercy but your guide makes me wanna play and maximize her impact more in the future.
I'm a console player and because of you I've learned so many things about mercy and I finally got to top 500 because of this. Thank you!
i was so excited for this 🥰
I don’t even really play this game anymore but still watch each of your videos because it is great to see someone who’s still so passionate about it. Also, the production quality is great.
Keep it up, luv u
I play mercy a lot and while I know most of these tips is always good to be reassured that it's a good idea to have some of these mechanics and mindsets in the game
Other mercy mains: Mercy is a goddess 👏 our queen 👏 literal angel 👏
Niandra: spammy goblin in the back.
The next season starts tomorrow and I am gonna main Mercy for the first time, these videos are great help
Extremely helpful guide!! As a mercy main I've been looking for ways to improve. Thank you very much!! Liked and subscribed.
Niandra you give such great tips and I love your channel!
Thank you for these c: I’m still very much working on my mercy gameplay and I love learning morning about what others do as mercy and such 💕
You are such a great educational streamer! Thank you so much!
When I die and make up my mind to change my hero and I scream in VC for my mercy to not rez me she does it anyway and when I check she's not even in the VC. 😄😇
It's unfortunate but we need that numbers advantage!!
And when you have an ult that can win the fight Mercy rez another one and feed another ult
Uli. Yup if I have 2 teammates down I always check to see who has ult or higher percentage ult
@@Minbebi sorry for the probably stupid question, but how do you know who has more ult charge?
Kamaro if you tab (to check your damage/healing/kills etc) you can see at the bottom of your teammates icon their percentages! :)
1:06 I love these cute draws thanx forthe tips too. I didn't even know you could GA
Your videos are so amazing and highly detailed. I literally love the effort you put in 💕
always so satisfying when you hit clean headshots rapidly on that widowmaker that's been sni[ing your team for like 5 minutes
You helped me grind from low plat to mid Diamond so thank u and hope u have a great day/night
Ah the re upload, I tried to comment before and it kept erroring and I didn’t know why lol
This video was super informative tho!
Subbed. This was great content, and I loved your editing!
Great video niandra 😊, i cant think of any details that you missed other then maybe super jump rez tips but thats quite risky on its own anyways Xd
Yeah it's something I've started doing lately but thought it was too advance for an already long video - might do a separate one in future!
I'm trying to get better at Mercy and I feel this really helped - thank you c:
Thank you, this was very useful! Im planning on maining mercy and ive looked at so many videos on how to play her right, but i just couldnt find one. Im very thankful for this video. Btw, i love your accent ^^
Been excited for this video!, also I love the little drawings.
Thanks For The Help Niandra!
I don’t even play mercy but I still watch these
