the most impressive thing Elon has ever done was letting Twitter users have access to verification so that they could destroy the stock market.
i think my favorite thing about this mess is that it’s proven that no matter how rich elon musk gets, no matter what he buys, no matter what power he manages to get, he’ll never have what he wants more than anything: people to think he’s cool and funny
also you missed the part where he was originally gonna charge $20/month but immediately folded and cowered after stephen fucking king said it was stupid

@@squid8520 individuals cannot be sued for parody accounts, but twitter could possibly be sued for negligent practices and making the verified pages virtually identical to parody pages. the rollout of twitter blue was a mess and led to some stocks tanking after companies were impersonated. whether the case goes anywhere is up yo a judge, but companies would still have room to sue, even with the limitations of section 230
He could have made his own social media and the Elon musk simps would have absolutely jumped to it, but instead he decided to tell the entire world he’s completely incompetent in the most spectacular way

Elon is a child with a fortune that was built off human suffering. Watching him fail, become humiliated, and lose everything is so satisfying to watch.
The best comment i saw on the twitter situation recently was that because he was sued into buying twitter, he initially tried to run it how he wanted (8 dollar verified check, firing the entire communications team, "jokes r legal now" etc). Now that he knows he's fucking it up and people hate his guts he is doubling down as a combination of huge ego and a new plan to deliberately run the site into the ground so he can file for bankruptcy and eliminate at least some of his debt from the purchase. Anyway i hope people make fun of him so hard he pees his little idiot pants in real life

i only use twitter for saving links to trashy chinese webnovels & reading them because their google translator is by far the easiest to use, so until the app hasn't crashed to the point of losing the function to literally open links I'm probably staying
