Kitty update - Not ASMR (soft voice but loud meows)

- (If you got an ad, read why further below) Here's a little update on the filming situation. It's been rough, lol. My kitty (Frommeltje) is adapting fairly well to the new routine, though she still regularly gets up to do a Tour Of Complaints, she doesn't keep me trapped on the couch all the time anymore. Stupidly, this lead me to try to film in the evening while she was inside. Big mistake. Big BIG mistake. Turns out I can only leave the couch for small increments of time. If I'm not back in time, she brings the noise. Which is fine for life, not fine for an ASMR video. On the night of these clips, I tried filming on and off over the span of 5 hours and due to a stupid mistake, ended up with no video to show for it. Basically, during the 3rd interruption, I forgot to stop the camera. It kept rolling while I was settling down the cat and moving everything to the couch. I didn't realise this at all. Obviously, I ran out of memory and a large part of the final footage was not recorded. The whole thing was a disaster and I deleted most of the footage. I will not be attempting to film with her inside again anytime soon. I said I wouldn't try it, only for the Buffy videos, turns out it is not worth the hassle even for the Buffy videos.
I have managed to continue to film some episodes for the Buffy series during the daytime. I still have a few other pre-recorded videos to publish, so the videos won't be dropping off just yet, but it's coming, there's no way around it. Please don't blame the cat, she is doing super well considering the circumstances. Also, it's a cat, she's not doing this on purpose.
Now, if you did not see the poll on my community page last week, why does this video have ads? Basically, it's an experiment. While I was dealing with the unwanted ads a while ago, I got several questions from people wondering how much one would actually make on a video with my sort of view count. Since this video is not-ASMR I thought it would be interesting to perform the experiment. I feel like there's not much transparency about this at all. Either because money is still taboo or because people are all about the grift and don't want you to know how much or little they make. So I'll let you know after like a week. But this is not some sort of initial sign of a descent into the acceptance of ads. My opinion has not changed, and even if this makes 10x more $ than what I suspect it will, IDGAF. At most I would enable ads on the next non-ASMR video and donate it to charity. I'll probably let you know the results in about a week on my community page or in a video description, so if you're super interested, keep an eye on that.
If you get an ad on this, DON'T PANIC! If you didn't see the poll on my community page last week, there's some more info in the description box. But in short, it's just an experiment so those interested can know how much ad revenue you get on a video with somewhere between 1k-2k views. Because the video is so short, I didn't have the option to select only beginning-of-video ads, so you might get one at the end instead/too, no idea. Keep an eye out for the results in a week or so.
Oh and if you're mean towards the kitty, I will permanently mute you from my channel. She's a cat, this is not her fault. More than that, she's my cat, and will always be more important than this channel.

@@blueknight3943 Absolutely! I love all animals too. That's why I'm glad she can't catch anything so I never have to worry about the birds in the neighbourhood. Over the span of 5 years, she did catch 4 mice. But I'm pretty sure they were old, sick, or already dead if she managed to get them. So I was just happy that she got to feel like an accomplished kitty those times :)

The end was hysterical 🤣 I have a loud cat, too. She makes me crazy but also calms me and snuggles me. In the end, her sweetness always wins me over - even though I say fml too. 🧡
Hahaha, yeah I just did NOT expect her to get back up at that point. She's lucky she's adorable. I usually don't get so frustrated, just this time because I was trying to film. I know better now :)

Haha, and I wasn't expecting her to get up again at that point. And thank you, it's challenging for all of us. She is extremely sweet and has never misbehaved ever, which is why it's easy to be so patient with her because we know that she's just having a hard time adjusting to so much time indoors. All she's doing is voicing her discontentment and that's okay.

Hahaha, 100% same. It still gets to me sometimes, depending on how much she disrupted my sleep the night before, but I never see her as responsible, if that makes sense

Haha, she's deaf, but when she's looking at me I do meow back at her or talk to her to signal that I hear her and am making sounds too. She doesn't care though.

That's a random comment. I'm really fond of animals. Do take your time with filming, understand feeling a pressure to post content or people please, but it's ok to ignore it when self care or care of loved ones comes first.
I'm trying to figure out this balance myself. The fact that others took a long while to find it let's me know we aren't alone in this online world of balance.

She is fully deaf. Fully and completely can't hear a thing. It's an issue with blue-eyed white cats genetics. 70-80% of them are deaf. Her eyesight absolutely does NOT compensate for this loss, and is not the greatest either. Based on experience, her sense of smell also isn't the best. But she's very sensitive to vibrations from the floor, and she just never fully lets her guard down. She won't go into places where she can't plan her escape. Which is why getting her into the carrier to go to the vet is the literal worst and 2 months later she has not forgiven us yet.
I'm going to create a community post about the ad revenue in a little bit after I answer some comments.
