- My kitty Mad Eye Moody (Maddie) who I rescued and rehabilitated over the last 10 years has unfortunately passed away. (Kidney Failure) This has been absolutely devastating for me and our house feels so ... wrong. He was my SOUL mate cat.. one of those pets who has a connection to your soul. Not just a "pet" but a true member of our family. This loss has been devastating and its been over a week and a half since it happened and I am just now able to talk about it without sob crying.
Rest Peacefully, my dear sweet Maddie. My Googy Bear. My sweetest love. You will be FOREVER missed and loved.

The pain of losing a pet is indescribable. They are family and the grief and loss is valid. I’m so sorry for your loss and just know he was so clearly loved and cared for. You gave him the best life ❤️

It’s honestly so difficult to live through the emotions of loosing a pet. And it’s even worse because most people in the real world, don’t get how painful it is. For those of us who have mental health and sometimes physical health issues that keep us at home so often, these little creatures are the only reason we have to get out of bed or the only reason we smile some days. Sometimes these little creatures spend more time with us than our human family and trying to explain that loss is impossible. ❤️

To me it’s the same as losing any other human loved one and if these non “pet”people can’t understand that then they’re truly heartless and don’t have good comprehension skills to begin with.

Just sobbed my eyes out. Maddie’s symptoms perfectly describe what my, soon to be, 21 year old kitty is going through and I know his time is coming soon too. Thank you for sharing Maddie’s life with us. We grieve with you.
I hope he's around as long as comfortably possible, 21 years is a long life well lived and a happy one too with you. It's a heartbreakingly sad thought but however many of those years he's spent with you have been and are the happiest most love filled perfect years as a part of your family in body and soul, and he knows how much he is loved and he loves you. I know he's living the good life with everything and everyone he loves.
I don't know him but give him whatever kind of affection pets he likes for me please.

As an animal lover, I'm literally crying while watching this. I have 5 cats and two dogs. One of my cats and one of my dogs are my "soul animals". I can't describe how sorry I am for your loss. They really are like children and family members. Thank you for giving him such a good life.
I remember when you told us Maddie's story... Your kindness back then really stuck with me. You gave him such a full and loving life, I am sure he had a blast! Life isn't forever, but losing a friend is never easy. Take your time. ❤️

I have a soulmate cat too. Her name is Harmony and I’ve had her since I was 15 years old. She’s going on 11 years now this year and the thought of losing her one days tears me apart.
I can see that you’re hurting, but you gave that kitty such a good, full life ✨
This had me reliving my experience putting my geriatric dog to sleep in December. I knew it was coming (she ended up with total renal failure) but when it came it was so much. When you talked about the last day letting them sniff the sun and the drive to the vet… I was in that day again. Holding the power of life and death in your hand feels so, so heavy. I’m sorry for your loss - my dog was there before I even met my kids’ father! (They’re 11 & 7 now) There is a little relief in having their suffering come to an end - but thinking back on the last day leaves such a deep impression. Love and understanding to you and your beautiful family. This too shall pass- when you want it to. I think hanging on for a while in that pain is perfectly appropriate. ❤️
The vet printed this poem for me after my sweet fur baby passed and it gave me a lot of comfort. Rest in peace Maddie ❣️
Rainbow Bridge 🌈
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It's called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of hills, meadows, and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, he goes to this place where there is food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take them in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
I fell in love with Maddie years ago and was always hoping to see him in your videos. I love all cats (really all animals), but he was the sweetest, prettiest, lovingest little soul I've ever seen. He really was a little furry angel sent just to you. Thank you for sharing him! Much love ❤️❤️❤️
Kristi, I am genuinely so sorry you’re going through this. I hope it gives you solace knowing that you literally gave him a shot at life and the most beautiful life at that! You are an incredible person as well as a mother to both human and furry babies alike! You are such an inspiration and one of the reasons I actually rescued my second kitty this past New Year’s day. Went through this exact same thing with my kitty this time last year. It was a beautiful day and I brought her to the vet in her favorite fuzzy blanket. I still cry. Thinking of you!

I know your pain. My dog Cody passed away too. This happened two weeks ago. He was bleeding internally from a tumor they found in his liver. So we sadly had to let him go. It’s so hard having to say goodbye to our family.

I’m so sorry for you loss. I lost 4 cats since 2018. My oldest was 17 and my youngest was 7. It’s so hard, i still cry till this day. Crying as we speak. It never goes away. It gets easier. But the pain is still there. God. BLess you. All 4 of my cats had cancer. I almost lost my kitten to FIP. But luckily I got my hands on treatment. I made a couple videos on my cat and the treatment to cure her. It was known as a deadly disease up until a few years ago. Again, god bless you, now you have another guardian angel watching over your family and pets. 🥰

I can not begin to tell you how much I can relate to this. My very first cat was literally like my first child and I lost her from liver disease when she was 20 years old. I remember when I was pregnant with my first daughter I actually took a class on a Saturday morning that taught how to introduce your feline to the new baby. My Mom thought I had lost my mind. I learned quite a bit though. I still miss her to this very day and I lost her on June 7,2004. I ended up having to take off of work almost a week because of it. I also did the cremation, paw print, nose print, saved some of her fur. She truly was like my very first child and I'll Never Forget Her and I Miss Her Every Day even all these years later.
Just know it does get better over time, and you gave her the best life she could have ever had and she knew she was loved unconditionally by her family! 🙏🌈🐱🌈🙏

I went through a very similar situation with my kitty a few years ago. Same circumstances, down to the nose and paw prints. It doesn’t make it any easier, but with ours he went so fast and so peacefully that I think he was ready and grateful to go. Hold close to the memories of the good times, and know that they’re never truly gone. Thinking of you ❤️
