Skidoo Elan rebuild series Ep #10, Engine and exhaust install!

I had to re-upload this video because of a bogus copyright claim, sorry fellas.
Alright the elan is coming along!! I clean up the chaincase install, clean the engine and install the starter cup, recoil, and the new kimpex exhaust!

I love all episodes of this restoration elan 250. In the past , just as you said , for several factors , guys mostly will rip at that starter pully cord until their arms fall off and the hub is done for that part. Those two notches in the hub however , if you know and use wisely and with care and caution , will easily start this motor. JOSEPH BOMBARDIER would be proud of you sir. Thanks for sharing this excellent restoration project.

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I grew up riding a 78 elan deluxe. I bought a 74 elan ss 294 a month or so ago and went completely through it courtesy of these videos. Got it rebuilt and back together in time to get it in the living room for Christmas morning. Kids love it.

Just change the gas cap to "mixed gasoline , " not "oil" as is on the cap. Usually 50:1 ratio always worked well for me.
