This song is beautiful. This movie is beautiful. It's a love story disguised as a murder mystery and I love it. The main story behind everything is the relationship between Lisbeth and Mikael. Mikael is the only one who didn't care about what Lisbeth looked like, or who she slept with, or what she did in the past. Lisbeth never let anyone in until Mikael and the way the book and this movie ended is so heartbreakingly powerful. She genuinely fell in love with him and seeing Mikael with Erika broke her heart and this song playing over the credits justifies her feelings for him. I find it to just be so amazingly beautiful.
I definitely agree with you Edward. That's why I love this movie.
Agreed. Very much so.
If only there were such devoted women in the world. :/
Wow, that was a really good synopsis!
+Edward Fong worse thing is that the author died before he finished the series, apparently there was supposed to be 7 books!
+Edward Fong I agree with the love story disguised as a murder mystery but that isn't the whole point of the movie, in my opinion.
I listened to the entire Girl With A Dragon Tattoo soundtrack from start to finish -- all three hours of its pure, instrumental brilliance, and the last song surprises you with the voice of the beautiful Mariqueen. Such a euphoric experience.
Best part of the movie. I recalled the first time I heard it in 1985 sung by Bryan Ferry at the end credits of LEGEND(1985) Great stuff.
The movie needs a sequel, the end was so abrupt and sad!!! Rooney Mara was great- what a chameleon.
when you've heard this song in the context of the movie, the sentiment is that much stronger. it was where I first heard it and it got me right in the feels.
This song is amazing and this movie is amazing. I was so impressed with this movie and how often I've wanted to watch it over and over. Except for the end of course where everyone wants to give Daniel Craig a knock in the jaw.
I may prefer this to the original.
Also, this song after the movie's end was a kick in the stomach.
I feel like Lisbeth’s whole story is
Darkness brought me here.
Same man. One of the worst times of my life
Can't stop listening to this song. I just ran into the movie flipping channels and was amazed by it. Awesome and will watch many times. I have the song downloaded now and it will play over and over until I get sick of it. Might take awhile. Beautiful voice and nice lyrics.
Good cover...but I wonder how many younger folks even realize it's a Bryan Ferry song from 1986.
firstmusic00 legends can be now and forever...
Those of us who grew up with Legend know! :D
Yes!!! I was born in 89 but when i at least 4 yrs old somehow i found this movie on TV. My mom never really cared what we watch but i remember being hypnotized by Legend the same as i felt when i watched The Crow at 5 yrs old. I always felt like was different from other kids. Legend will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. This song i would listen to every time the end credits rolled. It still is the better version.
Not just ferry but with the master David Gilmour!
firstmusic00 Great music transcends...
It has a nice Depeche mode vibe in the middle. :D
***** , This is a cover of a song that seems to be from that time. I loved this song back in the movie Legend (Tom Cruise back before he even had braces). Check out the original song;

...or deftones
Nice Legend cover.
This song hits so close to home.
If only. :/
one of the best covers ever
I can`t wait for the sequal to this movie.
This song CRUSHED me in 2014 when my lover broke up with me, & although we still talk, the feelings of this song still stain
Without you, nothing has value ...
Without you I do not exist ... I do not breathe ..., I do not live ...
into the empty night ...
within my empty dreams ... please come as often as you can ...
I am looking forward for you...
And if I find, that life has time ...
Would it be, such a terrible crime ... I am lost ... what is the cost ... I will pay, no matter the fine ... to make herself, her life ... Mine.
LEGEND!
Trent & Mariqueen singing together.
That's it.
Love the song. Trent reminds me of Phil Collins. That's a good thing...
Where are our mashup artists, to put this with "Coming in the Air Tonight". And maybe the original of this song. And maybe add in some slowed-down Apologize and Unsteady (a la ua-cam.com/video/zX4p4nRyd1s/v-deo.html).
I really need to get back into music editing...
This song is just so beautiful. No disrespect to Mariqueen - whose voice is beautiful - but I would prefer it simply as an extended instrumental version with only Trent’s vocal. The music is bewitching, so intense and emotional - it says so much all on its own. Such a beautiful track from a great movie from the genius that is Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross…
Such a beautiful cover.
Very beautiful sound track from The girl with the Dragon Tattoo... ! I really like the strong script and wonderful cast with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig... in 2011... !
Oh well - What's once heard - cannot be unheard: "Is your love Stroganoff?" :-)
hahahahha
this song gives me chills.
I was today years old when I found this cover existed. Beautiful cover, interesting take and still as haunting as the original.
Nothing can stop Them now! :) I must admit HTDA spreads it`s wings, Reznor and Ross turned out to be a very creative duo. Even Mariqueen started to sing for real in oppose to EP album, where she was mainly whispering. When I listen to this song, i`m just... Happy:)
Just one step at a time
And closer to destiny
I knew at a glance
There'd always be a chance for me
With someone I could live for
Nowhere I would rather be
Is your love strong enough
Like a rock in the sea
Am I asking too much
Is your love strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
And stranger than fantasy
I knew from the start
It had to be the place for me
Someone that I would die for
There's no way I could ever leave
Is your love strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Is your love strong enough? [Repeat: x4]
Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
A very good and sad song, that show us according to this movie, and the book that in the end sometimes we are wrong about somepeople who we thought were meant for us.
this song is so beautiful, it is full of sentiments and passion.. it is incredibly beautiful
This song first appeared in Ridley Scott's "Legend" before it was remade for "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."
Thoroughly gorgeous cover version! Thankyou for uploading this.
I just watched the film again, still amazing.
EXCELLENT SONG............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love both versions such as the 80`s version and this one they are both good.:)
so amazing!!!! I just love them
Totally agree. Man, I miss the 80's.
This will always be a Tangerine Dream/Brian Ferry song....but this actually not too bad. Of course, I'm a huge NIN/TR fan....so it makes it easier for me.
From the soubdtrack to Legend. One of my all time favorites. I really do enjoy this cover though.
This is a Bryan Ferry song. Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack to the film Legend but this was written entirely by Bryan Ferry. Originally titled "Circles" and was left over from the Roxy Music album "Avalon" sessions
As a huge fan of Brian Ferry and NIN, the original one and cover are simply beautiful
This isn't Tangerine Dream... it's Bryan Ferry and David Gilmour...
Such a beautiful movie and song
I absolutely loved it
These lyrics really hit me.
Gorgeous cover, I'm hooked.
It's just more fairy glamour!
Great movie
Lovely song ❤️
Hahahaha I was just watching LEGEND a couple of months ago and I was really jamming on Bryan Ferry and Trent makes it relevant again funny.
very nice song...i like it so much....
I played the original version over top of this one and believe it or not it sounded pretty damn amazing if you can sync it up right.
I remember this song was played at the very end of ending credits & make the atmosphere of ending credits sad & emotional like Lisbeth was heartbroken after she saw Mikael is with Erika at the end of this movie
amazing song...
i like this version...great cover...
This song is beautiful.
Great movie, great song
That ending though. I guess finchers girl will be forever heartbroken. :(
Linda. Obrigado por compartilhar conosco.
This song made me think "I don wanna skip class tomorrow" but my feeling to skip class is more powerful so ill just go with it
The books are amazing. The original trilogy honestly a masterpiece
LEGEND!!!!!! :)
Powerful...
Legend.
-TEW
This song is one of my favorite from the soundtrack.
Wunderbar !
WOW !!!
I love it
Makes me cry every time
You know, it has a Kingdom Hearts feel to it. I dig it.
EPIC :D
Is that trent singing in the part with the male vocals?
yep
I came here looking for this post! 😂👍 Nice ear
This is a good song.
idk i always love hearing this song at the end of the movie, seemed a perfect song for the end of that film
And off we go with the negative comments of mediocre people and haters... aren't you all tired???... gosh... if you don't like her, then don't listen. I love this take on Bryan Ferry's original song.
Cool song. Trent has a way of selling songs that would normally come off as sentimental because of the lyrics. He's always got really catchy beats though.
That's for sure.
Love in the darkest of places.
The core is love, no matter what, it always love, only love 💕
Ive never even seen the movie but I love HTDA and NIN so..cool :)
@Winduct actually this does play during the end credits. whether or not its the very last song in the credits, i dont know.
I cant get it of my mind. New meaning of the song. :)
If they ever do a sequel to Legend then this definitely needs to be in the credits or hell even in the trailer
I saw both versions and they are very similar however as I am a fan of David Fincher, I really did enjoy the His Version...right up there with the dark, eerie feeling of his movie "SEVEN"...
that ending omggggg
Who is here in 2023
love how this singer and producer made this song sound better and stronger
Mariqueen. Trent reznors wife. :)
+Jena Tarulli really?
+Huzidaking1 yup!
the band is How To Distroy Angels
both he and his wife are members
that's him singing at the end
+Jeanette Burns love them!
Your comment made me fall off my seat with laughter. True story.
HTDA
Isn't this song from "the legend" with tom cruise????
Yup
in a way, the song does fit the movie. Cause toward the end when Lisbeth realizes she's in love with Mikael, this song is fitting to ask if his love is strong enough for her....but that remains in question.
What a week interpretation of a classic by Bryan Ferry and David Gilmour on guitars.
@CluvzC Maybe it starts playing when "What if We Could" ends during the middle of the credits.
I think she has a nice voice and quite like this version
Lisbeth Salander ahhhhhhhh
the most fucked up movie, girl, and song ever... gosh it broke my heart
you Cleary have not seen enter the void, antichrist, the witch those three movie are more fucked up than this movie. way more fucked up. but with that being said I love this movie
@InterludeTV - Maybe it's not in the film. This compilation/soundtrack does consist of nearly three hours of material.
@ecdctech
That one is Orinoco Flow by Enya
Why this is not on spotify ):
Actually, I know Lisbeth personally and she does in fact have this song on her ipod, JS.
나의 최애 o.s.t 라고 생각합니다 영화도 좋았습니다 팬이 되었습니다❤
@choiceorchids YOU TOO!!
I like this more than the original version. Too bad it's not on streaming
A very interesting much darker take on this song which I fell in love with in the Brian Ferry Gilmore version, which I find was much more optimistic. Also I enjoy the US take on the movie, but it doesnt reach the level of authentisity of the Swedish original though I can watch both and enjoy them. Of course the US version has the impeccable level of production.
I felt that the US version of the film was more focused on being a love story (which was the book's strongest aspect), while the Swedish film was more of a traditional thriller. Add on top of that the high production values Fincher brought to this, and the Americans walk away with my vote on this one. Both are worth watching (and the novel is great as well), but I think that Fincher and Zaillian tapped into the pained soul of the book better than Oplev did.
Why good sir, I believe it's a Lisbethasaurus.
Personally I heard the original and like this one better.
