Imelda May sings the rockabilly classic 'Train Kept A Rollin' for The Sunday Sessions on BBC London!
Memphis lives in that little Irish ball of fire. She is extraordinary.
Deserted the Rockabilly scene for fame and money. Funny havent seen her TV since then
This band needs a reunion
Imelda and Darryl split up so that might be umlikely
I love you Imelda May Rockabilly rules.....
This is... nostalgia, in a glorious way. Now, pop music for young people is mils away from this music, which is from sevnty years ago. Today most of the popular music is not recorded in mono, but is put together in a computer using over 64 different tracks. Times sure have changed, and arguably not for the better. It's refreshing to see real people, musicians, playing real instruments live.
Excellent version of this classic song. Done perfectly! If you don't like this, I don't think there's hope for you!
I am almost speechless! An Incredibly Wonderful Lady Singer and a Good band and a Really Wonderful version. 10 points!!!😉👍
Wow, that drummer is top notch.
2 things i love about her are, one her accent and that little growl she has when she sings. 🤘🏼
I'll add to the above her talent, her passion and her joy. She puts so much of her personality into her performances.
А мне ВСЕ в НЕЙ нравится! И ОНА- САМА, тоже очень нравится!
I love how she recognizes the original artist! Sounds like my fifties rockers!
Except she didn’t. Johnny Burnette was covering Tiny Bradshaw.
Wonderful Comet of a girl,so talented and full of life.this is REAL talent,If she doesn't become a huge star, there simply is no justice!
She already is a huge star in the rockabilly world. She's the headliner at Viva Las Vegas this year- the single biggest and most prestigious rockabilly event in the world. She's got millions of fans and she'll soon have millions more. Pay no attention to main stream media.
1955RodHot Glad to hear this. I've been listening to this women's rockabilly music all week long. She is incredible !!!
she doesn't need to be a huge star, I love her too the singer and the girl behind the glitz. Great artists are always on the peripheral of public sight. Shane MacGowan is massive in certain circles, he's a hero of mine for his song writing abilities but ask most people in this country and they won't know who he is. I know its a different genre of music, Imelda reminds me of a torchsinger there was an album she made when she sang End Of The World and it really touches me when I have to say goodbye to someone. I like her jerky numbers Johnny Got A Boom Boom that she wrote for John Lee Hooker.
She fuses modern styles with rockabilly she'll go far no matter what anyone says
John Ellis As long as she keeps on doing what she does the way only she does, I will just be delighted! Every time is like a Firework display for the ears!
Unfortunately her next album is not rockabilly, or infused with that same energy. Its a lot more sombre. If you like Lilac Wine you may like that. I've not heard it entirely there are a couple of the new songs on spotify I think. But an artist has to grow and I think shes marvelous
I love The Rock n' Roll Trio!
Brilliant Music and Performance 🙏🎶😍
Well Done, You All... 🎵🤗🙏🤺
Very impressive, exciting performance of this Rockabilly classic of Johnny Burnette! She sings it with much power and feeling, this is how true Rockabilly should sound!
damn how can such a sweet voice be so rough and powerful??? This is more than impressive.
What a great band!!! This is where modern day music needs to be.
When Imelda was worth listening to.
I believe your comment is accurate. Saw her with Jeff Beck many years ago, she was great. Watched the Jeff Beck tribute show she was on recently, it was like she had lost her edge.
How can anybody not Love Imelda May She Is Great
The UK is such a wonderful keeper of the original rock and roll flame and young people like Imelda ensure it's going to keep burning brightly across the Pond for years to come, mate.
I'm so agree....Imelda is awesome 💥🇳🇴
Mark Arrivi spot on 👍😎🎶
Direct straight to the point she is great!!!
Imelda May is my favorite singer, she is absolutely brilliant!!!
I am really blasted amaszed
She has a stunning voice and a great energy. Fantastic cover. All good musicians surronding her and a special mention for the drummer ! bravoo
unfortunately it's now finish.
I just recently found Imelda and she is beautiful and exceptional me. Rockabilly is a rare style in this day and age. She has the timing and the fire and the heart. Bellas artes!
That lead guitar is just plain sick.🎸❤️🩹✅
Wow...this is what her voice was meant for. You can see the groove on the musicians' faces and what it means to them to be driven by a singer like that. I feel the need to say it again...WOW!!!!!
She has an extraordinary voice and great style. it's pure rockabilly
Just love this. "Johnny Got a Boom-Boom" live is killer also. I see there are a FEW dislikes. I'd like to talk to these people just to find out why they don't like it. It just boggles my mind that there's anyone who wouldn't be knocked out by this. ❤
I had the honour to see her live this year at Hyde Park, I was about 10 meters from stage, raining as pretty much always does in London. But that was one of the best evenings I've ever had.
You nailed that tune, nice to see rockabilly is in good hands.
soo true hes really underrated hes deffo the best rockabilly guitarist in the UK
WOW and here in Finland we now good Rockabilly. 10 points
Awesome! That little laugh at the end is killer. Love it!
I miss this Imelda :(
Imelda brings back beauitful memories of youth, keep on rocking. Love all your music
I loved it, great rock and roll singer and well accompanied.

There's not roots in Blues. Blues are the roots man. Peace
Everything tottally live, thank god for real music.
Love Imelda 😍
che ritmo e che talento ...un bacio dalla Romagna! ITALIA
Extremely versatile and talented- the real deal for sure
Superb guitarist.....Was great back in the Enforcers days & has always been a true professional in everything he has done!
WOW !!!!!!! Can we have more and more and more of this fantastic sound the whole band pumps out of every thing they put into their music :)))
love her voice and the rhythm tricks she does
When I listen to this, so do all of my neighbors!
Imelda, you're a diamond.
Fortunately, we have good singers and good music.
This burns! Great take on a rockabilly classic
Great version of a classic tune!
Einfach Wahnsinn!
Sehr impulsiv!
Das ist Rockebilly
After seeing imelda sing this i ran into the garden and howled at the moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watched Wild Target this morning and heard her for the first time. Great sound, great voice, she is absolutly beautiful, and the band rocks. I have been listening to every song i can find on the internet. I am hooked and can't wait to get her CD's
Brillant ! This girl is a bright light in a tunnel of todays mediocre music
got the maniacs stamp of approval, great song -band and woman
brilliant version, she just nailed it
wow! first time I hear imelda may and I think she is awesome..
all the women of Ireland are awesome lol......
Check out Jeff Beck and Imelda May LIVE Walking In The Sand (best post is on Dailymotion:).
Johnny Burnette ( & The Rock and Roll Trio) brought me here. Fabulous musicianship ...and a faithful and respectful adaptation - they really mean it! Thank you for keeping rock and roll alive.
Imelda May-Is a gift to music. She is Amazing!!
What a great song!!!!
That's one great band she's got there.
Yes, you're right. She's wonderful - but so is that band.
Every single person in that band is incredibly talented... something that really shows when you hear them play live. Blows you away
Glad to see this comment ... the band is indeed amazing !
That is an entire room full of talent.
She's rocking it !!!!!!!
😎 That´s Rock n Roll !! 🎸
Back for another listen. What a drummer! Why couldn't I ever find one like that?
Don't give up keep looking
Nothing special. Darrel Higham on guitar is the real standout - a solo artist in his own right.
@@joeblack8915 Yes, I know that, having been a successful session player myself for many years. The drummer also impressed me, that's all.
great singer, great band, great tune
Super Stimme, tolle Ausstrahlung - da können heutige Sängerinnen kaum mithalten. Dazu die super Musiker - einfach stark!
Brilliant...lost for words, had to watch it several times...amazing band as well. Thanks for sharing.
Love that rendition of that Tiny Bradshaw number well done Imelda May.
That smile at the very end of this vid is priceless !
She should have stayed with rockabilly music.
Love it!!
God, she is sooooooooo good!!!!!
The lady ROCKS. Just became a big fan.
Je découvre Imelda, petit à petit ! La classe !
Her laugh at the end of the video..
It's probably the most awesome laughter i've ever heard..
Dong it up as only an Irish girl can! What a voice, and she's gorgeous on top of that. Seeing her smiling and hearing her delighted laugh at the end of this really makes this worth watching as well as experiencing that wonderful voice!
She could sing the ingredients off a packet of crisps and make it sound emotional and full of life, there is no doubt in my mind that with the right management and media exposure she could become a superstar, many of us who appreciate her already believe she is a superstar, definitely one of Ireland's finest!
You are right but unfortunately Rockabilly/Rock n Roll music and artistes like Emelda these days are considered 'Novelty'...
Absolutely love this version I'd never heard of Imelda before but after googling her she is incredibly sweet stunning has a beautiful voice and is backed up by some crackin musicians who know there craft so if you ever get lonely Imelda here I am lol😀😀
First saw her on Jools Holland,a fan ever since.Dig it baby.
I like very nice this is the first time for me ihave not seen or heard of her before but I really like her
Best part is they all look like their having fun, cool.
Absolutely unbelievable awesome singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love her!!!!!!
She is so cool - love her!
Good ole Rockabilly. So GOOD!
La voix et le rythme des années 50;fabuleux
Bloody great version!
Since the 50's we on our side of the pond have been more into rock n roll /Rockabilly /Soul &RnB (original that is) than the country that gave birth to the art form . We do however like to share it with you guys and thank you for it .
Wow, what a fab woman and a great performer she is.
What a voice! What a personality!
Great example of the perfect cover: keep the dynamism and feel of the original, but honor it by being inspired to add even a little something more to it--and having the style and ability to do so.
You mean cover bands don't have to crank out tired, flat versions of overplayed hits punctuated with cheap lounge act variations that mess up the rhythm?
@@spacequeen8329, yeah, as I said...
fantastic cover song!!!!
outstanding....rock on people.....universal
That's good!!!
Big thumbs up. Rocks.
Really bloody good - love it !
I like when she takes off the headphones at 1:06..."Let's ROCK"
Chick's got one hell of a set of pipes!!! And she's a joy to watch.... Oh, BTW, LOVE her shirt, good taste!
Thank you for posting!
she rocksssssssssss!!!!!
