This is one of the best unoccupied bed-making skill videos I've found. Only thing I noticed is she didn't use gloves to remove the dirty linen, but other than that this was really helpful. Thank you! :)
I agree, it is very thorough and she speaks very clearly. But DEFINITELY wear gloves when removing the linens for your safety and the safety of other patients you care for afterwards, and then throw away those gloves before putting on new sheets and covers. Suppose if the patient who had been in the bed had MRSA or something highly contagious.
arent you supposed to just wash your hands without shaking (flickering) them before drying? No barrier on the overbed table. no gloves when removing old dirty linen..
she was messing up on some stuff..she wasnt supposed to shake that pillow case like that when she was putting the pillow in..stuff like that is very imperative to remember....just saying
thats how they teach you to do it in school and also your wasting it because where is it going to , but right out to our streams and rivers and back into our homes agian , its not like once the water goes down the drain its gone forever , it somehow leaves earth and orbit into outer space, i mean if you want to critique this lady you couldve said shes not suppose to shake her hands after washing shes suppose to let them hand and dry for a few seconds then dry her hands w paper towels .
and also people , if u are working in a nursing home , u shouldn't wear jewelry, such as rings which can scratch the patient cuffs , or big hooped earrings, thank god she didn't have the earrings
+TheFunnyfarm7 because you are suppose to dispose the paper towel with one hand , Not switching it to the other and then throwing it away . that's a automatic fail on the skills test
***** 1:18 she switches paper towel from one hand to the other and also your not suppose to fling the water after washing and rinsing . Another automatic fail

this is really good.the only good demonstration I've seen on UA-cam.
very helpful! I need to learn this skill for my hosa event (nursing assisting). You made it look easy.
This was helpful other than the fact that you loosen linen at the top of the bed and roll to the bottom of the bed
I was looking all over for what the heck closed meant! Thank you so much for explaining. It was so simple

no gloves when removing soiled linens from bed and went directly into placing new linens... the rest was great, thank you

Before touching anything you require to have gloves, what happen
Infection control Infection control Infection control, never shake your hands, the clean linen was folded wrinkled, that she shaked, didn't wear gloves
I wonder what state this is in? There were some mistakes made.
They taught us the difficult one!
Great Video
She forgot to pull the top of the sheet over the blanket approximately 6 inches. She just left them both.
true and they totally dont do it the way i learnt it in school
she didn't wash her hands after touching the dirty linen and before touching the clean linen...gross.
I freaked out when she shook her hands after rinsing them !! BIG NO. Do not shake your hands !
No barrier/protective sheet on the table ?
THANKS MAAM FOR SHARING THISE,,,GOD BLSS
Am not getting this at all, I thought that bed making is two nurses procedure, while only one nurse?
but the bed is unoccupied To nurses is for when the bed is occupied to support the patient
may I ask why it it not OK to snap or shake bedding?
that will spread microbes
what's wong with you
ok Thanks :)
Shouldn't she have removed the dirty sheets and then washed her hands before putting the clean sheets on?
why u going to wash ur hands if u going to take out and touch the dirty linen anyways
Great technique but a huge waste of good water
Angel Grace When washing your hands, you cannot turn the water off with your bare hands because they will become contaminated.
Yes I am aware of that, but she can quickly rinse reach for clean paper towels to turn off the faucet then dry her hands. ;)
Well, most people that I know are not quick enough to turn the water off with their hands and reach for a paper towel.
I guess it's all in how you are trained.
Yeah, I am in here in NC and that's how they taught me, but you're right, different locations=different professors=different teaching styles. Cheers
very good study video
actually she supposed to do all one side and then the other. Not walking around the bed 10 times.
Yep lol
Excellent.
コロッケ定食をつくりながらの節電?
no gloved hands when removing soiled linen
Shook your hands in the sink a little bit, but good job and thank you
She cross contaminated at the very beginning when disposing her paper towels
+TheFunnyfarm7 because you are suppose to dispose the paper towel with one hand , Not switching it to the other and then throwing it away . that's a automatic fail on the skills test

why dont you use an incopad
Good video, but shouldn't she be wearing gloves?
Poor handwashing demo, fingertips should always be pointing down.
waste enough water?
and shouldn't u leave a toe fold and a fan fold so she could enter the bed without raising everything
Wait ur suppose to roll the dirty linens towards the bottom not the top. and u didn't fold the pillow flaps inward. also drying ur hands was horrible.
a lot of the video their not wear gloves,,
you didnt remove your jewelries and no donning of ppe. no proper body mechanics,, not proper folding of linen... :P
As long as she moved the braclets up het arm in which she did and cleans under the ring while she is washing her hands then she is okay, nice try.
Chill people.. This is only for demo purposes
Too many mistakes
idc
what?
Not so good
