  • What up friends! In this video I'll be trying my hand at my first oxygen-free pressure transfer from fermenter to keg! I used the Kegland FermZilla All-Rounder 30L, and purchased the pressure kit. What a simple setup, and was a breeze to easily transfer the beer under pressure to the keg. I would highly recommend this process, and the FermZilla All Rounder with pressure kit as well.
    Recipe:
    50%: 2 Row
    42%: White Wheat
    8%: Flaked Oats
1 oz. Mittelfruh hops at 60 minutes
2 oz. Sweet Orange peel at 15 minutes
    1.7 g. Coriander powder at 15 minutes
1 Whirlfloc tablet at 15 minutes
    Yeast: SafAle US05 (dry)
    Ferment at 69 degrees F

Make sure your jumper cable is full of co2 before you start.

Great tip, thank you! I’ve missed that step before but include it now for sure! Cheers 🍻

You could also run a second jumper tube between the gas posts. Use the PRV on the keg to burp it until you get a flow between fermenter and keg. The beer going into the kegs displaces the CO2 which goes in to the fermenter. You end up with a keg full of beer and a fermenter full of CO2. If you accidentally over fill the keg using this method, the excess beer goes back into the fermenter.

Getting the kit all set up. The Fermzilla All Rounder is a wonderful little bubbler. Looking good bro.

Nice job! I like the Duotight fittings, very easy to work with. I’m transferring my Reese’s Porter to the keg today.

Good video. I'm new to kegging my beer and have considered doing it this way using a keg as a fermenter.

Whats the time scale to move 50 litre over to a keg? Have you done bigger batches?

    • @OZKOutdoorBrewing
      @OZKOutdoorBrewing  5 місяців тому +1

In my experience it’s maybe 8-10 minutes on the high end to transfer 19 liters (5 gal), so 50 liters I’m guessing could be upwards of 25 minutes or so. There could also be wide variances here depending on tubing size, pressure, etc. Cheers 🍻
