On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago IL on 5-24-21.
We're looking at the brochures from a 1959 from Ford regarding the Fairlane.
The brochures are from Dennis Roxworthy sharing his 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable & 352 CI Engine & Ride.

ENJOY!
All the art work that went into these brochures…not a computer in sight! Very talented artists & creative marketers. Thanks Lou for a close-up of these!
Hi Rusty, My please share this "extended cut" trunk & treats from the late 1950's :-) You're welcome, Lou
i like to geek out over old sales brochures and owners manuals. especially 50s american cars. it has that art style you would only see in a manufactures design studio .
LOT'S of treats with this car.
What an awesome assemblage of literature the dealers really worked hard to earn our business back then with style and class.you find the best stuff thanks again Lou.
Hi derwood 454, You're right, car companies produce some interesting pieces :-) Fun to see them, glad to share it with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Simply amazing! Thank you Lou, for this wonderful segment from Mr. Roxworthy's collection.
Early in my career I worked as a graphic designer, and in the printing industry.
From all the tremendous hand-drawn and hand-painted artwork, to the complex hand-done film work,
with many printing plates processed to create these brochures, these brochures are automotive masterpieces!
Thank you Dennis and Lou for sharing them!
Hi Nathan, LOT'S of treats with this car and glad to read you appreciate the work on these brochures. You're welcome, Lou
I love the Trunk & Treats - this is a fantastic collection of memorabilia.
Thanks!
This one "filled" the trunk :-) You're welcome Jeff.
Too bad we can’t time travel back to 59 Lou all the cool cars and 50’s lifestyle! Car marketing was huge back in the day! And all the wonderful human drawn graphics!
Hi Ron, Yes we can't go back, however the brochures and the cars on this Channel bring us back for a little while :-) Lou
Hi, Lou! Looks like Dennis has all the bases covered as far as '59 Ford literature! Looking at the station wagons, 1959 was the only year the Country Sedan came in two-door form. Not too many were made, so you would be very lucky to find one today. And I certainly don't know of any other sales literature of a wedding invitation. Lee Iacocca was definitely the master salesman!
BTW, if you're really into auto sales literature, you ought to get "The Complete U.S. Automobile Sales Literature Checklist, 1946-2000" by Kenneth N. Eisbrener. It will tell you just about every piece of sales literature that was ever printed! Thank you, Lou and Dennis, for taking us on this '59 Ford literary tour!
