Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker #15-1: Sing (Uncut Commentary)

- Ten years after MGS3, MGS: Peace Walker visits Big Boss and Master Miller as they build an ocean clubhouse for men only. This is a co-op LP with my friend Snarkcookie.
The look on Big Boss' face when Peace Walker starts to sing just screams "Only heroin can erase the week I've had"
Peace Walker has the best MGS ending, suicidal robots singing the Carpenters and very comparatively little final cutscene exposition. The ending wraps up the story rather than explaining in painful detail what was going on behind the scenes throughout the game.
and thus The Boss made her greatest mistake..............she destroyed the psyche of her greatest and youngest apprentice............which would lead to much bloodshed and violence.
in the end fulfilling her mission...........was the wrong choice, her choice would have catastrophic consequences.
If I was doing this for the views I would talk over new releases and not a game that came out three years ago. Why would I LP all of the major MGS games if I didn't really enjoy them?
Mother base has come quite a way since the start of the game... but can it Strut A Pump?
No
Oh wow. When I got this ending, I welled up a tiny bit, and thought it was pretty haunting for the symbolism of 'let the world be' to be so blatant knowing it in hindsight, and felt genuinely freaked out when Big Boss finally turns around in the way that he does.
...now that I've heard chip talk over it, all I can think is 'this ending is fucking bonkers!'
Big Boss turns into the bad guy because he goes fucking nuts. He lets go of the Boss' ideals and goes on to have his revenge on Cipher in MGSV.
Dying laughing at the phrase "sickness of not wanting to join you"
09:19 At first glimpse I read that as: "In time, all standing animes must be totally abolished."
I don't even...
*SNAAAKE KICK!*
The message is to Project Itoh, the late author of the Metal Gear novels.
PlayMadness wait, there are more after Metal Gear Worlds of Power one?
I still love the ending.
"do you like the Carpenters?" hits a lot different after watching Mandy...
I know this ending is widely ridiculed, but it fucking hit me like a truck way back then :*) Singing robots are cool - I don't care what anyone says!
If you want something for mgs5, you should want snake singing along to the song at the end
Chipcheezum is a Ghost In The Shell fan confirmed?
If I recall, the reason why the aerial mines aren't entirely ridiculous is because the spinning helicopter blades actually suck the mines in if the helicopter just gets a bit too close. Still dumb but not entirely unreasonable.
'Project Itoh' was the Pen name of a Japenese Scifi writer. He did the JA to ENG translation for MGS4.
Somehow I missed this LP the first time around, but hoo boy. This is really, uh, something. I get what Kojima was trying to say. It's just a baffling way to say it.
1984: Vapor Snake wreaks havoc across Afghanistan and Africa, stealing endangered animals and causing countless millions in damage with his golden tank
The "Zanzibar hamster" must have been a mis-translation of gerbil, because I got so many of those in TPP... And every time I get more I think "well, more poisonous hamsters".
How could you NOT get the ending? The symbolism is goddamn obvious and it keeps beating you over the head with it.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - The Ballad of Beef
Because if someone likes something, they can't possibly find anything wrong with it? That's just stupid, random guy. Chip fucking loves Metal Gear.
A lot of what happens in this game would be disturbing or genuinely touching were it not delivered in such a goofy way. I think Hideo has spent so long trolling his own fans that he`s forgotten how to write without sarcasm.
After Big Boss killed his Mentor he's already dead inside
Bring Snark for when you LP Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain. I'm sure there'll be tons of multiplayer stuff in there.
Oh how I wish this had come true.
The story itself isn't that bad.
It's when the characters try to explain it that things just fall apart.
You can literally do nothing on Peace Walker Battle 3 and it'll still advance as normal.
Seriously, pick naked armor and run in with only the stun rod. You'll still succeed.
I found this out just from dicking around and going to missions like that for no good reason.
It's almost brilliant, really; fucks up the only thing keeping the helicopter in the air, which is very fragile, to boot.
Perhaps this is the point, but Big boss really sounds self centered to the point of being evil when he's bitching that The Boss "Put down her gun" to stop the complete nuclear annihilation. More so when it was made clear in 3 that the Boss' wish WAS that we stop killing each other for stupid ass reasons.
So Raymond Benson wrote the novels for MGS 1 and 2, and Project Itoh wrote the novel for MGS4.
All his knowledge of Rita died with him.
Wait, so Big Boss turns into the bad guy because he has massive mommy issues and just can't handle the truth?
You know, suddenly the aerosol flamethrower isn't so ridiculous...
"You can stop moving forward in a helicopter."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they also come standard with technology that warns the pilot with a lot of loud beeping and sirens when they get too close to crashing into something?
Because wow, the binder I'd video games that I've flown a helicopter in sure do seem to indicate as such.
Considering the series in question, yes. The Boss AI thing kinda works pretty well once Strangelove explains that it's basically just her pet project trying to make sense of the seemingly illogical Snake Eater debriefing files and she's going along with Coldman's stupid plan just to get free resources out of his crazy ass.
Chip Cheezum here with more tips and tricks for Call of Minecraft 5
that just sounds... wrong
NOBODY thought of confiscating the dangerously crazy prisoner's Inspector Gadget hand?
Denver has a peace sign near it. I call bullshit because World Marshal.
When I saw that loading screen, I thought my game glitched
A little over half way and the story is finished, I would never finish this game out.
To me, the game was all about subtlety. People like Paz, Coldman, The Boss all had good ideas at one point, but they've turned them into gross caricatures; Paz can't do anything without vomiting peace, Coldman wants to prevent war with ludicrous means, The Boss went from 'we should be nice to each other' into butterflies and Carpenters. Big Boss and the Player are turned off by these warped ideals, and go on to monger wars in their own unique ways (robots and endless grinding respectively).
@19:48 Roll in ze hay, roll in ze hay!
I don't get it. It really just doesn't make sense at all. None of it makes sense.
When I played through the PS3 Peace Walker, it gave me the full credits and none of the timeline scrolling. I mean, on the PSP, I remember it had the timeline scroll. I am confused.
Go-Go-Gadget Prison Break Kit!
BORN BEFORE PEACEWALKER TOOK PLACE MY BAD
Or they could be shit talking it because the story is ridiculous and hilarious.
Or it's about sneaking and jiggle physics, either way it's fucking nuts
It's mostly because they had to find a way to justify Big Boss wanting to plunge the world into eternal conflict in Metal Gear.
There's a problem with your series when this is the most rational ending of all the games.
Really? they seemed to enjoy themselves playing the game to me.
This game is up there with Snake Eater as my favorite Metal Gear title,
and I found nothing offending in their commentary.
Anyways, the "ending" here is pretty dang stupid to be honest,
but god help me if I wasn't enjoying seeing it unfold before my eyes all the same. Kojima can make this kind of stuff interesting and entertaining in spite of a story's mileage-varying content.
It feels really pretentions. It's hard not to make fun of MGS.
The Boss's dying wish was to become a singer?
That blocking out of the mission and censoring feels really weird to me
Zeh Door Knob. (:
Oh, 666 videos. How about that.
are you people serious? "the story isn't that bad"? a dude named HOT COLDMAN made a giant robot with the boss' brain patterns strapped to it and it's "not that bad"?
It is one thing to be funny, but another to ruin the moment guys, come on you know people watch this primarily for the story and secondly for the commentary cant you not make fun of the story at the ending at least?
+Iraklis Pazios Watch the cut commentary version, then.
Given that I despise The Boss more than any other character in the entire franchise, I for one enjoy seeing them take the piss out of her
TheKyrix82 why?
Iraklis Pazios watch video with cut commentary then
hating this commentary
+Alberto Amoruso same here wtf
THEN WHY ARE YOU WATCHING!?
+Total Idiocity Searching a MGS's gameplay
+Alberto Amoruso ...and you decided to watch the last part? OK. A lot of po-faced people around who take things WAY too seriously...especially the ludicrous B movie plots of Metal Gear.
+Alberto Amoruso There's a version with cut commentary, you know
