- Ten years after MGS3, MGS: Peace Walker visits Big Boss and Master Miller as they build an ocean clubhouse for men only. This is a co-op LP with my friend Snarkcookie.

This boss fight seemed so funny to me because it's basically the same situation as with Peace Walker, but Zeke is weaker and is sitting right in the middle of a base with 99 dudes who are all around Snake's power that can all fight a Peace Walker by themselves.
Remember how every villain in this game is introduced with his or hers name colored red?
Paz name is also colored red...
"So they were going to manipulate us into getting a nuclear weapon, and I thought fuck it I want some nukes, so I let them. I mean their plan hinged on beating Big Boss in a fight, so I wasn't really worried about it"
If Metal Gear 2 ever gets remade, I hope that the lighter at the end gets replaced with Zadornov's fake hand.
What do these two have against the music? It sounds good, and even if it doesn't fit in this fight, that's no reason to take off your headphones.
I think the song is pretty good. Why the hate?

I love that this is the 1st time anyone at Mother Base considers that national armies might not like the idea of a huge group of mercenaries in the middle of the ocean. Why wasn't every country with an army fighting them in the 1st place?
During my playthrough, Paz managed to take over ZEKE even though mine was deployed in Outer Ops at the time. Even better, when I wanted to go into battle, I got a prompt saying "ZEKE is currently deployed in outer ops", so I couldn't fight it.

the story behind Paz's song is on a tape in mgsv the phantom pain and it turns out all Kaz, Paz, and Galvez mean peace and miller wanted to make a band pretty much known as peace and played on peace day
So, why do you not have 350 or so men shooting down at her? She's in your base...with all your guys. Your personal army with tanks, helicopters, battleships...why is it man to robot when you can just pelt her to death in like 40 seconds?
Probably because the game was originally made for a portable console and the portable couldn't handle it. It'd be kickass to have all your team building and R&D play in to the fight, but the hardware wouldn't be up to it. Shrug.
+shimazu32 They actually intended for there to be a fight like that in The Phantom Pain, with all your soldiers assisting you, but that was cut. Look up "mission 51" if you wanna know more (obviously spoilers)

The whole part about Big Boss feeling betrayed sorta makes sense.
You have this guy who essentially can't live without war and outright say he have no desire for peace. It's understandable that he would assume his mentor who taught him this mentality would be the same. And then he finds out that she in truth wanted to "lay down her gun"... Or you think about it more and he just seem like a butthurt, self-centered kid. Oh well, they had to get him to a certain place for Metal Gear 1.
This is wonderful. Oh my god. It's like Kojima hung out with Hideki Kamiya for a weekend and wanted to just fuck everything up in the best way possible afterwards.
to fuck something up in a way that's entertaining without being expressly bad is an art-form
seriously, it's like Kamiya's hatred of his fanbase rubbed off on Kojima and he was like "ya know what? I'm gonna finish this game off in the dumbest, most obnoxious way possible. AND HE DID.

I remember getting very near to max with Zeke (each board at least at 90, except mobility which was at 100).
And it's a fucking nuisance; it attacks constantly without pause.

According to the extended trailer for MGSV, Paz is still alive, but she was caught by Skullface, tortured, and had a bomb put in her body.
The trailer shows Snake, Miller and Chico opening up her guts to take it out while she's conscious.
Ouch.
this makes that part where she and Snake had sex on the beach under a cardboard box really weird.
Also, Zero and The Boss unknowingly create one of the world's most dangerous organizations.
I really want that hand to be in Ground Zeroes

They finally put a rocket propelled hand in.
It's glorious.
seeing Big Boss using that hand kinda gets a new perspective now with MGS V, since trailers shown he uses a similar model after becoming a one armed bandit so to speak. Wonder if using smokes in MGS V will have him light them with a lighter finger.
Ok, I'm starting to think Hideo just REALLY didn't want anyone to see all the story content in this game. I'm half expecting halfway through the final mission to unlock the whatever thing, it'll just cut to footage of him yelling at you to turn off the game.
I love it especially BECAUSE the plot goes completely off the rails.
It's that zany Kojima charm I tell ya'.
Then there are people who think his plots are genuine masterpieces without a speck of sarcasm and I just smile and nod.
He was the special ghost Chip and Snark were trying to find in the first part of this update in Dead Man's Treasure.

I will admit, unironically, that I love both this final boss battle and the song accompanying it, even if the plot goes completely off the rails.
Strangelove is the hottest woman of Metal Gear for me. I've always been drawn to women.. like her, of her looks and stereotype

Big Boss is Ryu and Kaz is Ken Masters
It is really disappointing how this is the only cutscene in the entire game with animated faces and unique body movements (unsure if it's motion-capped). It feels really inconsistent with the rest of the game which has such a sharp divide between the comic-panel cutscenes and in-engine/gameplay sections. I wonder if they ran out of time or what.
I guess it does make the ending feel extra special on the plus side.
I noticed someone called Chip in the credits.
A large part of me wishes it was you, Chip. You making a Metal Gear game would be great.
I turned off everything but the railgun, because you can't for this fight, the first time fighting Paz, because I wanted to get the ending faster.
You hear his voice in random Codec calls during the Dead Man's Treasure missions, as demonstrated in part one of this update.
You know that part with Strangelove and Huey is nice...
Until you remember what happens in the end.
Regarding that last bit of the timeline... Bear in mind that it comes literally a minute after Big Boss asks the question, "Will we survive to see the twenty-first century?" Well... the timeline answers that question for you.
When the mammal pod burst open and sprayed butterflies everywhere and peace walker killed itself while singing the carpenters I thought this might just be the best Metal Gear ending ever, when I unlocked this fight, I knew conclusively that Peace Walker's ending was the best.
It's okay to like anime music, Chip.
Oh god, I would love it if the MSF skating rink would eventually become the skating level from MGS2. At least it would go that way in my headcanon.

Out of the 300 soldiers on mother base, the only one who thought it might be a good idea to actually help Big Boss against a giant robot, was Kaz
& even then all Kaz really did was open some flaps to give him some cover

I can't believe it took me this long to realise that Miller is Travis Touchdown.
Zadornov's rocket hand will totally be an unlockable in The Phantom Pain.
The secret weapons in this game look absolutely amazing.
Why does the zeke mock fight have a restriction on the walkman?
So apparently Kaz and Big Boss met after Big Boss killed off all of Kaz's unit and Kaz himself was preparing to commit suicide with a grenade, and Big Boss was impressed by Kaz's "spirit" being like a samurai and offered him a place at MSF, which Kaz accepted and somehow rose to be Snake's right hand man.
This just reinforces my belief that Big Boss is really just some batshit insane guy who happened to receive great military training and was never meant to lead anything ever.
dont forget kaz has also betrayed snake, look up mgs pw secret ending or just complete all missions on the game

Big Boss' legacy was showing up the Man by building an oceanic skatepark and letting soldiers pull ollies, free of control? I knew it, MGS2: Substance and Snake Tales WAS canon! Skating or dying is in Snake's blood!

you know, looking back at this garbage, i'm really not surprised at how mgsv and gz turned out storywise
for example "paz is naked because she has to be submerged in water as a shock absorber" vs "quiet is naked because she breathes through her skin"
Missiles setnup again after she breaks them.
Big Boss is alot like a sea based batman in this game.
Don't care what anyone thinks, this boss looks like a really fun fight.
