I absolutely suggest trying this.I made it last night and it was the best teriyaki I’ve ever made and my family agrees. It even had a way better smell to it then the other types I had that I bought from the store. This guy knows exactly what he’s talking about and I will be following your other videos going forward ..awesome stuff man keep up the good work and dropping us this knowledge
Love what you're doing on this channel! Descriptions are super simple and clear and you always give the 'why' behind what you're doing as well as alternatives. You changed my teppanyaki game all the way back on the first video of how to cut veggies and I'm glad you're continuing to make content. Thanks!
This was amazing and probably the best teriyaki sauce I’ve ever had! Thank you so much for the tutorial, I had a question, what should I do in order to thicken the sauce so I can store it?
We love hibachi. We go at least once a month and on special occasions. I’ve tried several different teriyaki recipes in the past and I’m stoked to try this one. Thanks. New subscriber!
Quick question: How long do you figure the sauce is good to last in the fridge or even out of it if possible? I made it for the first time and it was fantastic! Definitely gonna do this from now on instead of store brand. But I washed out an empty kikkoman teriyaki sauce bottle and stored this homemade version in it and refrigerated it so spitballing, how long do you think it’s typically good to last before you should toss the rest?
Should last 10 days in the fridge no problem. After the 10 day mark give it a quick smell and taste test. Spoiled teriyaki will have small bubbles and smell like sour fruit.
Please explain or record a video on using the pineapple or apple or orange in the sauce. I’m allergic to pears. Should you use the skin on the Apple or Orange? Are they to be used separately for two different versions? Can I use canned Pineapple chunks? If so how many? Thank you your tutorials. You are appreciated. 😄
Just sub’d yesterday and have been watching a lot of vids from you. REALLY good content. Just a suggestion, please put a few buck into some pro lighting. I want to see more at the grill but the sun always kills the lighting
Good video... just gotta watch out for reusing the spoon after you've used it to taste. Ok for personal home cooking... a no no for cooking for others.

The pears make all the difference!

Great instruction Paul! Have to give this a go. Cheers 🍻
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for sharing Paul. I prefer making homemade everything so I can control the ingredients. This one will be a keeper for sure.

corn or potato starch mixed with water will thicken it up.

Great stuff! In Chicago, at Ron of Japan, they have an egg yolk sauce they use on butterfly grilled shrimp. Can you make that sauce?
I have some made in the fridge. That video is coming soon!

Nice!!! Hey paul how about that spicy sauce that's made on the griddle?
Sure! What kind of flavors does it have?
@@thebackyardhibachi not sure bud but he uses Siracha and lemon I believe
I was wondering if you can freeze some of the sauce if you can’t use it all in ten days.
It's made of sugar and salt. Itll be fine.

Chicken and noodles mainly. You add some to the veggies too.

Is mirin or maybe even rice wine vinegar traditionally put in teriyaki sauce for teppanyaki? This sauce looks great tho =)
Some use Mirin but it’s not necessary.
Do you have a recommendation for a Ginger substitute ?
You can leave out the ginger if you don’t care for it.
Can you substitute the water for Mirin?
No
What brand of soy sauce do you use? Is Kikkoman okay?
Kikkoman is what I use
Im not a huge fan of onion. Do you think this part can be left out?
It can.
How long can you store the teriyaki sauce in the refrigerator after making it? I can’t see Me using it daily
Should last a couple weeks, possibly longer
Can I use brown sugar instead of white?
Yes!
Can you use this sauce when making lo-Mein???
This is too sweet to be used in lo-mien
Are Mirin and Sake not necessary when making Teriyaki?
Not necessary at all, sake will cook out of the sauce on the grill. You can substitute some of the sugar for mirin.
@@thebackyardhibachi thanks loving the channel
can i use an apple instead of a pear
Yes
What type of mirin Hon mirin , Aji mirin, takara mirin?
Thanks!
No mirin in this recipe
