Nice Mustang, there's a car audio shop in town that has a thriving business installing new Kenwood, Sony head units with apple/android carplay & back-up cameras into these older sports cars, after folks get use to these things it's hard to wanna live without them!
MAN I HAVE 4 SHELBYS AND 2 OF THEM HAVE THE RARE SHAKER 1000 AND IT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE FOR BEING A STOCK SYSTEM LOL BACK IN THE 90S YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO SPEND AT LEAST 5 GRAND TOO SOUND AS GOOD AS THE SHAKER 1000.
It's the same generation(production timeframe) and the same motor as the early 2000s GT40. Which I think says a lot more than what these first gen GT500s are given credit for.
Where’d you get your information from? Those engines if takin care of are actually pretty reliable. Most people I’ve talked to with a Shelby of that age haven’t had any transmissions issues, some have said the clutch is a lil heavy but that’s it
I have the car no engine issues whatsoever, if you do push the car on a hot day no figure it’ll give you some trouble. That tremec transmission is one of the best produced however on these cars the stock clutch feels “heavy” and they tend to fail at around 20-25k miles with normal driving, mine gave out at 22k so I put a McLeod clutch in her and she’s 👍🏼
The best thing to do with these if you plan on keeping it and making it more enjoyable to drive I’d switch out the stock shifter to a mgw, the clutch, clutch line, belt tensioner, pulley, drain all the old fluids and put fresh fluids in there and an exhaust
In many respects, the late model SVT Cobras are very similar to this GT500. But for me I prefer the look of the GT500. Especially so for Europe where an SVT Cobra would look pretty out of place along Fiats and Golfs
I have a 2007 GT500. You can get them right now with less than 30K miles for $30K. That won't last long though. If you want to know what you WILL have to replace look at my comment for your video. It's a solid car and they prices keep going up. Buy one
I would buy any gm vehicle with a ls engine over one of these without question, you can get a gto or g8 that will beat these for way cheaper and won’t break down like a ford.
I came to the comment section to say the same thing, lol, well minus the snark, but those of us who've owned the earlier Cobra 4V's it was an honor to have a non Shelby still wearing a snake badge on it. Miss my '96....
As the owner of a low mile 2007 GT500 I can tell you that for the price, you won't buy a faster straight line car. The 2007-2009 models had clutch issues and you will have to change it at 26K miles. The 2013-2014 with the 5.8L has more HP and features, but they still sell for mid 50s or more. The only reason to buy a 2007, which can be had for $30K with low miles, is because you can spend $1500 and get 100 more rwhp. Slap a VMP supercharger on it and then you are at 725 rwhp. So spend $55K and get a low mile 2014 GT500 with the 5.8L and has 650hp? Spend $30K on a 2007 with the 5.4L and has 500hp, spend another $10K on it, and end up with a 725 to 750 rwhp monster. The 5.4L engine is solid and so is that 6 speed Tremec. The only issues with the 2007 to 2009 was the clutch, 6 disc changer, and the upper and lower control arms weren't the best. I changed all that in my 2007, rides great, just upgraded to a smaller supercharger pulley + CAI + tune (+100 rwhp), and next year I will do the supercharger swap. So let's do some math....spend $30K on a low mile 2007 GT500 + mods + clutch & suspension upgrades = $40K approx. $40K for a 725 rwhp monster.
I HAVE A 08 GT500 AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL BUT MY 08 GT500 HAS 3 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND IT'S A SPECIAL GT500 BECAUSE OF WHO OWNED IT BEFORE I DID.
AND I HAVE A 07 427 EDITION CONVERTIBLE SUPER SNAKE AND I HAVE A GRABBER BLUE KENNY BELL COUPE SUPER SNAKE AND I HAVE NOT ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM EITHER.
AND I HAVE A 07 SHELBY GT THAT I DROVE DALY FOR A WHILE BUT THAT'S JUST A SHOW CAR TOO ME AND IN MY OPINION THE 07 08 SHELBY GT MUSTANGS DON'T GET THE LOVE THAT THEY DESERVE AND I ALMOST BOUGHT A 07 SHELBY GTSC OF WHICH IS EXTREMELY RARE AND HOPEFULLY I WILL FIND ANOTHER GTSC IN THE FUTURE.
you can keep your 500 horse power automatic go as fast as you want, ill keep my 2012 beautiful lotus evora, 6 speed manual cream color silver wheels, women flock to this car like flies to shit because its sexy looking.. who cares how fast a car with two pedals has
damn cant believe that being 15 years old is still at that price
I honestly think it’s a good thing they hold that value. Carol Shelby was a legend.
And will only go up from there, due to it being limited production and collectable.

The 2008 are so nice looking

The tr6060 Tremec transmission is considered a very good transmission.
Thats 1 of only 29 08 Vapor Silver convertibles with the stripe delete

I'd prefer a '03-04 SVT Cobra over the Shelby for the price.
My buddy has a 04 Terminator. Nice car

This is a car I'm considering buying in the future. Any thoughts?

get a 2014 it looks better and has the coyote engine
Leave that piece of junk alone man and get a real classic muscle car or save up to get a real sports car like a corvette or a BMW, or a TRX
@@VoiceOfModernTruth It's not junk at all and your opinion is only subjective.
@@Mr.EraserMan what are u talking about it has a 5.8 liter it does NOT have a coyote 😭
No convertibles...not with fast 2drs. you need the roof for structural rigidity and for protection during accidents.
A few cars within this price range and tock 500+ power - 2nd gen CTS-V, 3rd gen Viper.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking you could also get a c6 z06 for around the 30k mark which is a great car for the price imo
@@coltstephens2428 c6 z06 is like 40+
@@night7185 no I can send listings of c6 z06s for like 35k they exist
@@coltstephens2428 yeah with 90k miles maybe lmao

gto is not beating this stock for stock lol
The generation of mustang had a lot of stupid issues.
Water leaks, panel gaps, electrical tape unraveling.
03 cobra has the Snake badge and it’s not a Shelby. I bet you drive a Honda.

@BigTimeRushFan2112 I I own a triple black 03 anniversary conv, 2013 white Boss, and my high school 88 coupe.Would love to purchase 2013 Gt 500 next.

These cars are cool, until you start making good power. Ford cheaper out on the internals
Most do unfortunately. Probably would be better off buying a Boss Mustang (forged internals) and boosting it if you want.
For the money a c6 zo6 is better

If women flock to your car versus you, what does that say about you?
So without your car, women wouldn't 'flock' over to you?
Looks like someone wants attention, how cliche
Automatic? Auto’s weren’t even available in the 07-14 GT 500’s
These dont even come in automatic guy they were manual only
