What a voice James has
He doesn't sound too NICE!
The more I see of James Mason on Password, the more I come to admire him... Not only is he is a good player with a lovely voice, but he's also immensely patient and well-mannered with these contestants that can't seem to respect his personal space!
I thought Noreen wa beating him up!
I'm not sure if she did it subconsciously or she wanted to "tell all her friends" when she got home, that *yes, I did in fact, sit next to and touch James Mason when I laughed! It was amazing!"
She couldn't keep her hands off of him!
Totally agree.
He was a really, really good actor.
Jane Fonda is so beautiful.
I could not stop yelling 'extortion' when the word was 'blackmail'.
Me too!
Me too!
Nope. The definitive clue was WHITE after the first few clues.
I was yelling "RANSOM!"
Extortion IS The definitive clue, in fact I couldn't think of anything else 😮
James Mason is the quintessential gentleman. He might as well have a sign that reads "Touch me".
James one of the many wonderful English actors.
He seems kind of arrogant!
Poor James Mason is very English in not liking to be hugged, touched etc. all the time. He has even said so. Both contestants use him like a James Mason Stuffed Animal but he never shows a glimmer of distaste because he was a gentleman.
Right?? It's appalling how that woman pummeled him every time they scored a point, literally hitting him repeatedly, grabbing the side of his head, etc. When they switched partners I thought finally, he's safe, then the man started touching him every play too. It was so clear by his body language he was immensely uncomfortable, but those clouts couldn't see it. It made me embarrassed to be American; I hope he didn't surmise that we are all like that.
James was an awesome player! I loved when the women hugged/attacked him!! Loved him!
Deep down we all crave human touch it is therapeutic. I think he liked it a little.
+Margaret WRONG. Many people do NOT like being touched by people they don't know in a personal manner.
Pretty sure I spotted a glimmer or two
Love James masons voice
So did Alfred Hitchcock. He made him the suavest of villains in North by Northwest.
Love Jane's warmth with the contestants. She and Chester act like two kids in cahoots.
James Mason was handsome!
So much fun back then. A shame what happened to television.
True and a shame what has happened to this country.
@@Crazeyfor67 - Don't worry Trump 2024 will right the ship and restore Xanadu
@@waldolydecker8118 From prison?
@@deborahwalker7406 C'mon...you know entitled, wealthy right wing caucasian racists and criminals don't go to jail - especially if they are a past President.
You must have forgotten about all the hundreds of high-level Govt and Military entitled, wealthy Confederate racists and criminals who took up arms against the USA from 1861-65, killing and maiming over 1 million citizens and costing the equivalent of over $100 Billion in war and property damage costs - none of them ever served 1 day in prison and none of them were ever convicted for any act of treason.
By comparison, although Trump is just as evil as his Confederate brethren, he can always claim that he never took up arms against the US Govt - he merely used his businesses to pimp off the US Treasury while in office, then when voted out of office, sent his deplorable followers to attack the US Capitol, after which he stole over 100 of the US Govt's highest ranking Top Secret documents for sale and profit on the underground foreign espionage market (Middle East, Eastern Europe, China) where he does millions in banking and business.
No way Trump goes to prison when none of his like-minded and like-acting Confederate predecessors went.
James is getting touched constantly even by the men!! One of my fave Password players and epis.
Epis?
@@HansDelbruck53 It is short for episodes!
@@m.e.d.7997 obvious.
Who els watches jane in “grace and franki” then you see her here ! What a Beauty !
Loved that show. Jane Fonda was beautiful in that and funny. I watched every episode
My favorite... And also shytts Creek!!
The other girl was just as good looking...and smarter.
@@floydvaughn836 Brooklyn Decker is about 30 years younger, I would hope she would be better looking.
@@ethanweeter2732 ? 30 years younger than Jane Fonda?
I love that the two films mentioned were "Walk on the Wild Side" and "Lolita," two of the most controversial films of the era
The Chapman Report was pretty controversial, too. Then again, the 60s was a turning-of-the-tide period for Hollywood, marking the final chapter of its beloved Golden Age.
These contestants just can't keep their hands off James Mason!!
James reciprocated and squeezed Chester's hand. Chester. opened James up. Lol!
I could listen to James Mason return toilet paper at Walmart and it would still sound great!
not if he used it first.
i started rooting for jane fonda, 'cause every time james mason scored, his partner would hit him kshdksh poor man.
ju visage - perfect example of when you bring an introvert and extrovert together. James looked so scared of her. 😄
how about that male contestant 17:32 , he was going after Masons lips. Made Loliita sseem like a bedtime story.
@@sakkel.7357 That man was more handsy w/Mason than the woman.
Noreen is like me!! 😂😂😂😂 she gets very excited over something while having a good time! 😂😂😂🎉🎉
Jane's voice is still the same and very especially wonderful!!!
James’s voice is still the same too
@@theglorymill His voice was music to the ears, yes!
Dina Cox: Yes.She sounds the same, but she looks very different here.
I would not have recognized her had she not been introduced or spoken.
She looks younger than her age here.(25)
Her voice has pretty much remained the same but what's interesting is that her look (for the early 60's) was very fresh and modern for it's time.
Most women wore their hair up or back. In fact Jane's look could be replicated today and not look dated at all......
Hanoi Jane......... 💩
Such a fascinating time capsule. I would have been agog sitting next to the fabulous James Mason. Also so interesting that this was on just prior to the release of the infamous Lolita.
The lightening round words for James and the man were very tough!! James was a superb player.
The guy said it himself at the start when asked what kind of player he was : Poor .
It's lightning, not "lightening".
@@HansDelbruck53 Correct you are right
Very rare, James Mason and a young Jane Fonda. Preserved video tape, unlike what my line, until the 70's.
Password must of had huge ratings considering the top stars of film were guests.
Oooh love the voice of James Mason. Great game ahead.
Ms. Fonda gave the clue "beetle" for the password "bug." I was just thinking that if this were just one year later, that word clue would have meant something totally different, and the response to that clue would have probably also have been different! What a difference a year makes!
Well 2 years since this is an American show...
True, and "Hanoi Jane" was almost a decade from birth.
My, she's a lovely woman for such a traitor.
Yeah, yeah, Yeah.. Beatles
Two years. Beatles hit the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 .
love watching jane: pretty, fun, exhuberant!
The clues for Blackmail were the worst I've seen on password. No one thought of extortion.
Thank you. I kept shouting "extortion" at my computer.
I thought 'extort'.
Thank you- first thing I thought of.
I thought of "extortion"! My command of English, and my vocabulary are superior to most! 👍😂
@@TheFriendlyTroll Me too! 👍😂
James Mason must be very ‘touchable’ - both contestants felt him all over - he looked quite uncomfortable at times 😂
I think he was both amused, flattered and put off, all at the same time.
James Mason was like, "This American is very touchy feely".
James Mason is being very patient, they are all over him🤦♀️ I wouldve been so over it😂
The way that woman was hitting and hugging and jumping all over him when they got a clue right was annoying. He was very nice and accommodating considering her foolishness.
And yet no one touched MS. Fonda.
“The word is CLOYING.” 🙄😧 Fawning Annoying etc.
Mason was a bit of a troll. Did an ad for Thunderbird.
To say the two guest stars here are overqualified for a game show is an understatement.
What is it about Jane that is so incredibly enchanting ? Her eyes , smile , her voice is so personal and charming . She might be pretentious but she seems so personal for such a famous person. Man I bet she really broke some hearts . Has a gift of engaging the person shes with and being warm even though she’s aware she’s beautiful and famous. Very few attractive women (because of constant praise and privilege ) are so bubbly , curious , personal and warm . I’m gushing way to much. So times you just catch a feeling . Her voice is animated , strong , feminine and endearing
Gushing way too much !!
She's one-of-a-kind! 💚
Very well-raised and surpristingly down-to-earth🌾
I'm using too many hyphenated adjectives! 😉
The voice of every female is feminine, by definition
It's obvious probably to everybody watching this but… Clothes (answer) Halloweeeeeeen....
I've noticed a lot of contestants can't keep their paws off f the celebrities.
I watched one earlier this morning, and the man slapped Joan Crawford on her upper arm when they won. She took it well, but I was surprised to see that.
Don't they have games played in early 1960? Mr ludden bless his heart did the show l thought early 1960 , I could be wrong.
Excellent episode. Noreen reminds me of Mary Tyler Moore at that time on Dick Van Dyke.
Thank you. Now I won't be up all night wondering who it was she reminded me of. Very expressive face.
Noreen also reminds me of Laura Petrie. I could just hear Noreen saying "Oh Rob!!"
Funny how Jane is still talking (somewhat) with that old-style Hollywood articulation...
A terrific gameshow with two stellar stars, very entertaining. However, I did expect Jane to be a better player, while James met my high expectation for him.
Jane thought that talking loud would cover up for mediocre clues.
Just how incredibly beautiful is Miss Jane in this clip? Just unreal.
Stunning!
Feminine to the nth degree.
It is really interesting to see the familiarity the contestants with the Stars.
Blackmail = "extortion"
Thank You
I'm screaming that at my computer as if they can hear me 60 years ago!
Too late
Two years later, I think. The Beatles came here and made it big in 1964, I think. But your point is well made.
Jane Fonda was very beautiful.
They get a way with so much gesturing. Jane tugged on her ear to try to say "sounds like". The male contestant held his hands as if reading a menu.
Yeah...he also put his hands on his head for toupee. "Chester the Cheater"
@@valeriegriner5644 Elizabeth Montgomery did it.
Jane Fonda was gorgeous on this.
The “touchy-feels” of the players is weird.
James Mason....intro, with style.
Jane looks and acts here - reminds me exactly of Maryann Singleton in Tales of the City. I never clued-in on that before now!
The contestants were obviously starstruck fans of James Mason , who used the Password game show as a once in a lifetime opportunity to touch one of their favorite Stars .
I notice women do better at the lightning round than the men do. This is so much fun to watch! Thank you for sharing it, God Bless You & stay safe.
Fonda is the Greatest.
I have Loved her since the 1960s.
I can't watch her in anything. She's a traitor to American troops. What she did during Vietnam hurt our troops and she should be ashamed of herself.
@@angelcuttill4300 - bullshyt, she is a taxpaying citizen ( exponentially more than you, by the way) and is entitled to express her opinion whether you agree with it or not - a Revolutionary founder named Patrick Henry made that clear 250 years ago. Your casual misuse of the word "traitor" shows your ignorance of its definition, along with your ignorance of the American founding principle of having differing opinions. Your attitude is far more Un-American than Ms Fonda's. I served 30 years in the military, including six tours in overseas Middle East combat zones. The lies (now all documented, proven, and indisputable) told by the highest representatives of the U.S. Government did more to hurt our troops in Vietnam than anything Ms Fonda did.
She’s a strong woman, very worthy of admiration.
This was just after Lolita and Mason’s pushy partner must have been reminded him of the Shelley Winters character in that movie.
On Blackmail, I was hollering "RANSOM!"
12:18 James Mason smiles.
James Mason seemed to be having a good time. He enjoyed the game and wasn't being stanfoffish, although he seemed a bit nervous at first. The male contestant was way too touchy Feely.
"Hairpiece" is one word!
We will have to look in a 1962 dictionary.
Nope.
Used to be hyphenated.
Goodness. The way we thought we had to act to appear intelligent and attractive!
What a beauty Jane Fonda.
theres another game with Jane in 1963
Wow she was pretty back then. The good old days.
After the first couple of clues for "Blackmail", I would have said "WHIIITE…" (In that singsong-y way they do on the show to indicate that you are indicating an opposite). As I say, this only after the first couple of clues were already uttered.
Extort or extortion.
@@scottroth9811 Yup...
....white nail?........
@@deborahwalker7406 read my comment again.
So wild how James Mason, 16 years later, would be in my favorite movie of all time (Heaven can Wait with Warren Beatty)
James Mason is evidently "magnetic."
James mason. 😍 this game one a good one
1962 wow!
I was born on december 30th of that year. A fact that only I can find relevant perhaps.
This almost seems like a parody of Password. James Mason and Jane Fonda as contestants? It's funny.
A thousand years from now people watching this, if they ever do, will think that the U.S. was populated entirely by movie stars, credit managers, and housewives with little boys, 9 years old (although she's a great foil for Jane).
Elegant, reserved English actor, and crazy, frantic Queens housewife. Good for Mason, never losing his cool with that goofball.
The way Mason says "Jackson Heights".☺🧐
Jane is very charming playing on Password
Poor James Mason! His partner hitting him! Very clever of Jane to say "spitted!" I would've said extortion for the blackmail clue--venom for poison -Halloween for costume-stable for barn. Very enjoyable episode!
I was born and later, lived in Woodbury New Jersey.
i lived in Lotus Gardens, mason's wifes apt bldg, georgoous
You can see James Mason keep backing away from being touched by the male contestant ! 😄
I'd be the same too. I was born not a million miles from where James Mason was born.
@@speakfreeley4473 You're "homophobic" too??? 👎😂
I didn't see that at all! Perhaps you're "unfriendly," "stand-offish," or "homophobic"???👎😂
@@marcse7en I can be a bit distant with other blokes, but that applies to both gay & straight males. Yes, I can appear to be unfriendly & standoffish at times with them, but I absolutely resent being called homophobic. It's like being called a "Neo-Nazi".
What is it with the guests climbing all over James Mason? It's creepy!
We are all assembled...
Jane Fonda and Jane Pauley, of NBC News, look and sound so much alike.
Period of Adjustment is a fun flick
For the third game, they should have paired the stars against the other players.
Seems like I've seen that done at least once.
Jane Fonda was 25 here. What a Barbarella babe
And what a cute Clute.
as a song of the period said..."she makes your heart just flutter most.....she is the end...the uttermost..."
Reason A Goodwin, what a fabulous name
James is incredibly handsome.
Jane looks fabulous
Back in the day Password was a popular tv show
WOW Jane Fonda is beautiful ..even NOW.. She aged well.. With the help of a good surgeon.. I wish all of us could afford helping us get through aging process from HELL... GETTING OLD SUCKS.. THE MIRROR ..ITS SCARY ..
The male contestant is extremely touchy,
What about "extortion" as a clue for "blackmail"?
They just won’t stop touching James Mason. Poor fellow.
Poor Mr. Mason must have been black & blue!
OK, I'm only up to 2:15, and already this is the most surreal Password I've ever watched
And what part are you going to play- James should have said Rebecca 😂 James always the dapper well spoken man who came from Huddersfield in the north of England.
Oh Jane if you only knew when you said "If I live so long......."
Hairpiece is one word!
I was waiting for the word Lolita to come out of Mason's mouth with that accent
Why did they let Jane get away with spitted? It's either a form of the word spat or it's not a word at all. Either way she should have gotten the buzzer, right
*No...'Spitted' is a proper noun with regard to cooking
practices as well as being 'pinned by a spear or arrow'*
Good grief! That man was all over James Mason!
For a moment I had the feeling he was going to kiss him 😀
weird
Poor James Mason. He gets beat up by the woman and nearly hugged by the man.
Love how Jane was chatting it up with Chester, during the entire introduction. :)
I cant believe nobody here says anything about how cute the girl player is. Shes so adorable. The guy at one point looked like he was getting up to kiss Mason ! =)
For "blackmail" they could say "extortion" .
She is indeed . Can't recall any other contestants with such enthusiasm....😁
I don’t know what it is but I love watching classy women be goofy and enjoy themselves
Fun fact: both contestant's retired with their winning's.
Retired? It was only won a couple hundred dollars.
@@judithrandall4690 ...yeah...it was a joke..
