Its hard to compare them before the official release. Wo Long is obviously inspired by Sekiro. When I saw the trailer for Wo Long I thought it was Sekiro 2: Shadows die Thrice
Na, it's nowhere near good enough to be a follow up to Sekrio. The level design is really bad, its just a series of small corridors with a boss at the end. The exploration is unrewarding, the visuals are bad. Team Ninja are going backwards, Ninja Gaiden has much better level design and art style, and that game is nineteen years old. It's a shame as if they had gotten rid of the loot system and had exploration as key with great level design and better visuals then this game could have been really special as the combat it satisfying.
@John-or7pr No. Wo Long has bad level design, bad exploration, pointless loot and the combat is the same all the way through the game. Parry, attack, parry, critical strike, that's all there is to it. Also, Sekiro ain't Dark Souls you moron. The combat is good for the first couple of levels but it starts to get stale as it never changes. You want a great action RPG then look no further than Elden Ring, it puts Wo Long to shame.

Not sure what this video intends to achieve other than to promote people to dislike one over the other and discourage games that try to do a genre their own way. Theres a lot that goes into a game, not just graphics. Both play differently and game devs have different visions from each other, not to mention budget. If you’re trying to compare 2 games fairly you shouldn’t just pick one aspect of them.
I mean they're pretty different. Wo long is more rpg-like and Sekiro is more classic action game. I think Sekiro is way tighter and has better bossfights, areas and a more exciting combat system. Sekiro is beautiful in it's simplicity while Wo long is more expansive and has those juicy rpg elements
Good things in wo long: Combat, weapon variety, gameplay Bad things: bad pc port, janky animation, shitty level design, terrible loot system, cheap sound fx, less memorable bosses Goods in sekiro: Gameplay, combat, level design, memorable bosses, good ost, visuals, graphics, fluid animation, realistic sound fx, story, lore, good pc port Bad things: none
I love when games are inspired by past successes, but… this just feels weird. Like it feels TOO similar to sekiro, without keeping the parts that made it great. I know the combat is a lot different, but so many enemy designs and animations almost look copy and pasted. Sure, they did add a few moves but a lot of them are extremely similar, if you watch more gameplay you will notice the basic enemies are very clearly based almost 1:1 from sekiro. It’s nice when a game builds upon the ideas of the original, like Nioh, but this just feels like sekiro enemies/bosses were placed into a game with a completely different combat system.
I've played the game. Nothing is copy and pasted from Sekiro and in the end, like every other Team Ninja game, its gameplay is just far superior to From Software games.
@@originalityisdead.9513 Sekiro is a rhythm game. Nioh is the Grandfather of Sekiro and Wo Long shows us how such games should be made. The Enemy variaty is very small in Sekiro but TeamNinja will not disappoint us with this gem. The Graphics will be better, I love the Level-design and the music and that Loot-System is nice because Nioh was an overkill with loot so they learned from their previous game.
@carlofettuccine1367 You love the level design? So you like plain environments with the same rinse and repeat wooden shacks and waking through small passageways, all of which look identical. The enemies in Sekiro can be dealt with in a number of ways, and the shinobi prosthetics add even more variety. Wo Long is just the same combat look, over and over. Its an uninspired mess. The loot system is lazy and makes exploration feel pointless. Sekiro's world feels alive with each area being different, Wo Long feels like something from the early 2000'S design wise. I also highly doubt the game will look any better at launch as it looks no better than the demo that released last year. They've also made it easier.
@@originalityisdead.9513 I love Sekiro too but I must say in terms of gameplay it is really just pressing L1 in the right moment. Still a beautiful game, you're right. Nioh on the other hand is way more complex in combat mechanics and thats what they focused on the most when making that game. Wo Long is just a perfect blend between Nioh and Sekiro and therefore they changed their stance-mechanic to this new Martial-Arts-mechanic. I can only imagine how the later areas will look in the game but the second level in the final demo was just an homage to Sekiro (Guardian Ape).
Wo Long released and it's better just as Nioh was better than Dark Souls. Gameplay is king and Team Ninja just does that better than From Software. From Software does visuals and level design better but that's it.
Yeah i'll stick with sekiro. The other one is just boring. The boss barely engages the player, just lazily throws stuff at you, practically putting me to sleep. Sekiro the boss forces you to concentrate because it'll kill you otherwise.
Lmao, that’s like comparing a puppy to a wolf. Comparing Wo Long to Sekiro, which is very different even from the very basic mechanics of the game. While the Nioh series have very similar styles, mechanics and even made by the same developers is not being compared with. I already knew Sekiro is far more superior, you didn’t have to be this pathetic.
Neither you or the uploader even played Wo Long to make the claim Sekiro is superior. I thought the same about Nioh and that Dark Souls was better until I actually played Nioh. Its gameplay is just better. Uploader can't even play correctly to really showcase the games lol.
@@John-or7pr Sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant Sekiro is superior as my personal preference.
