Boy, nothing changes with milkman except the size of the truck. So much similarity to our farming years ago but on a larger scale. Just love your farm and videos. Thank you!
Dairy farmer are back bone of American. Southern bell's give pick up my milk. Great video too. My grandfather teach me how to milk a cows. When I was a kids. Red holstein are so beautiful.
From what I see your doing it just right, and one day a younger guy is going to tell someone that you’re a heck of a guy to look up to😎God Bless Kip🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
My dad is a retired milk hauler the last tank here was 6000gal what gallons on that tank all are farmed are gone but family dairy in the next country the three big ones we are here in shelby NC that brought back a few memories alot of hard work for all
That's a big tanker. Our one is three axles holding 6,000 gallons. Collection is every two days. Your cows look great, beautiful udders and so clean too. That heifer due to calve looks pretty special.
Kip really enjoy seeing this Dave an I have the pleasure of sharing a grandson Noah an he’s been a good friend since 6 th grade I know your in good hands ! hope your folks are well sure great seeing the generations keeping up at the dairy there’s no easy day
Doing dairymen proud Kip. Back in the 40’s, 50’s and maybe even the 60’s the milk carrier would take the milk from my grandfather’s dairy farm to the Washtenaw dairy in Ann Arbor. It is no longer a “dairy” but is still in business as a coffee/donut shop with the best ice cream anywhere. Every year my daughter and I have a dad/daughter trip to Ann Arbor to visit family and take in a Michigan Football game...and always have ice cream at the Washtenaw Dairy. Keep the good stuff coming Kip. God bless.
started my driving career over 35 yrs ago dairy farm pickup. Always was told a dairy farmer or milk hauler never goes thirsty. There were some farms I wouldn't touch with a 10foot pole and others wouldn't think twice about dipping a cup in tank for a cold glass of milk. Now I haul brewers grain to dairy farms.
Just found you about 2 weeks ago. Really enjoy your videos and channel. You are doing a great job advocating for the dairy industry. Keep up the great work, looking forward to spring planting videos.
Another great video Kip! Love the way you take care of your cows. We have ice cream sundae nite on Sundays lol. Grand kids love it. We also use real butter, milk, cheese. Make our own ice cream in summer goid stuff right there. If you make ice cream you may want to do a video unit some time I think folks would be interested.
I've been enjoying the videos! I sustained an injury in the milk parlour on Dec 5th, just had surgery a few weeks ago. I've stopped by and visited my calf babies but it's boring being at home so I've been living vicariously thru the videos. Can't wait to be back to my calves! I milked for years but enjoy calf care better, not as many injuries! Lol
We quit milking two years ago, milked 250 out of a double 6 parlor. Some days I miss the routine and other days I don’t miss it at all. We run more crop acres and a big beef herd so we still stay plenty busy though
Good video Kip & your so right about taken the family out to eat or bowling or what ever yal do just to see how the kids ack that so important. Kip here is a idea of mine I would like to know what cost gose into a cow putting out 100 lbs of milk I think farmers was getting 21.00 per 100lbs of milk see if you can break it down to show your consumer how it real is . Just a idea Kip . I watch a break down on corn and after all the % of everything it takes to grow a bushel he had 12 lbs of a bushel leftover. Stay safe and warm kip Hello from Daniel from central Mississippi
Good Ol' Dave, just like me, find a job you enjoy and it's never work. Plus it's tough to find a young Buck to work 7 days a week. Love the "money maker" view of your impressive cattle, as they eat.
So Mr Dave has 103K pounds limit (whole milk), whole milk is 8.6 pounds/gallon. Mr Dave can haul 11,976 gallons of whole milk per load. How much is supplied per day by Siegler Family Dairy farm? I like the use of ole milk coolers 4 water tanks! Great video Mr Kip. 👍👏😊
Kinda silly but every time you flip the switch on the silo unloaders I'm relieved when the silage comes down the chute !!! Best way in the world to teach the kids some manners is to take em out in public and teach em right from wrong. (kinda unusual nowadays unfortunately ) good reward for taking care of the calves !! Axel's galore on that truck for sure , bet it's kind of a pig on ice in fowl weather , but if ya been doing it for 37 years I'm sure he's seen it all !!! Thanks for another great video !!!
I was a milk hauler for 11 years in SW Kansas and West Texas. I didn't live load at the dairies often and those were more commercial dairies. I did more long haul runs.
Yes definitely been tossing that around for years, we just end up conceding that if it’s not broke don’t try to to fix it. We’re not getting big milk but we don’t have big bills is our model 👍
