- My first impressions of the new Springfield armory xdm elite in 10mm. I can’t wait to get this thing to the range and see how it is.

One round can make a difference. If you're like me, and have a full mag (16) +1 chambered, you have 17 rounds. Add two full 16 round magazines, and you are just one bullet short of a full box of ammo. That's a lot of firepower in a convenient carry package.
Just ordered one this morning, also from sportsman's and also in the OD green. Wanted it to match with my green Taurus G3. Super excited, this will be my first 10mm

I picked up a green one on Saturday and put 150 rounds through it. It shoots very well. I think I'm going to put some kind of grip tape on it. Even with the aggressive grip design, it was a little slippery, when my hands got sweaty.

To be honest I prefer Springfield Xdm 10mm over Glocks any day

"DOUBLE RESET" Explanation : SO I have the XDM Elite Compact 10, XDM Elite OSP 9mm, and BOTH generate a double reset IF YOU don't sling that slide back fast and hard enough. Sling the slide back fast and let it fly home, THEN it will only have the single reset as it should. I haven't quiet figured out WHY or what makes it do that when "slowly" cocking the firing pin by resetting it manually (not by firing the gun) but if I sling back fast enough and it let it "fly home" so to speak....it will always generate the SINGLE RESET as it should and as it does in fact with firing live rounds. Just a personal experience note from what I've seen with mine.

@@ballisticallychallenged did it work for you on the reset? I know on mine I had to do it pretty fast and let it fly home to get the proper reset. doesn't do that on my regular XD's (xd mod 2, 45 acp, XDM-10) just on the elites.
Mine would do it under multiple conditions… on the range or racking it fast when dry firing. It was hit or miss, sometimes it would do it, sometimes it wouldn’t. But it was driving me crazy when I was actually shooting it, so I just got a powder precision trigger for it and….. no more double reset. Ill have a video of it up in the next few weeks.
@@ballisticallychallenged yeah it's weird it seems only a problem on the elite line as none of my other XD's or XDM's have that issue.
I just bought the same one from sportsman’s but mine has No double click….smooth as Butter short one click reset
I’m torn between this, and the Sig P220. Forget the price difference…I’m thinking more about the weight difference (the negative for the Sig) vs the fact that the all steel Sig has ZERO cautions for ANY hot loads (the positive for the Sig).
The 9mm compact also has a double click on the trigger reset. Still work fine and don't notice on the range, but I wish it didn't do that.

I really like the XDM high quality fit and finish, and reliability. My brother swears by his XDM Elites (9mm). I'm trying to persuade him to buy the big boy 10mm Auto version.

Those are great guns. I have two of them, both with match grade barrels. Mine are both in all dark earth color no black on them. Fantastic tools.

I think you probably need the extended magazine floorplate becuase of the extended magazine well on the grip.
That mag shows 15 but you really can fit 16+1 I also have the 3.8 10mm and that mag shows 10 but it’s really 11+1
Ya I have the same one. Its been a while now and still no optics plate, but I was eligible for the mag promotion. ya the magwell should be green, I painted mine. The weakest part of the gun is the grip. After I shot it once ordered a talon grip. Have about 100rds thru it no malfunctions, including testing with 140gr penetrators and 200 gr hard cast. Some guns with fixed sights r frustrating, but this one shot point of aim. Its a winner except for the grip
But the grips you ordered, did they suffice?
@@nathanwinters8640 ya got the aggressive talon grip tape. was supposed to be profile formed and werent, had to trim. talon said keep what they sent me and reimbursed me, cant beat that. They probably have the proper profile by now that was a year ago

I prefer my M&P 2.0 4.625 inch barrel 10mm with optic cut and optic height iron sights. Already bought a Holosun 508T titanium red dot with solar panel backup to install on it. Will get the slide and barrel ported by Mag-Na-Port and chamber jeweled too. Love it!!!

I just got mine today I don’t have the double click on the reset just a smooth reset one click
The trigger on my saint Victor does the same reset. It's crazy.

I too have this gun; I would like to install the Halosun SCS. Possibly someone can let me know when or how to get one for this gun? I will share a quick mod, I put a drop of red paint on the pin that sticks out back and if you don't go crazy with the paint it makes a nice indicator that is very easy to see.

I have the same gun. Well, not ex act same. I bought mine from PSA. I went to look around. Not to buy a gun. I got it like three weeks ago. I have yet taken it to the range. I also have the M and P smith 10mm in a four inch barrel.

Subbed. That meta triggers “double” reset only happens during dry fire. Springfield said if you slam the slide home as if it’s firing live round, double reset doesn’t happen
I've tried it, still happens, during live fire, still happens 🤷 got ired of it so I swapped it out 👍
Very accurate and easy to shoot but you have to have a strong grip. All over the place if not
So what's up with the double reset?
I'm not sure, it does it at the range too. (Not just dry firing) I got a trigger kit for it so I'll get that installed and see if that changes things! I'll post the video when I do it. Stay tuned....👍
Did you get that 3 extra mags rebate? Perfect timing on this vid. I've been in the market a while for a 10. I like sig but their 220 only holds 8 (but I like the hammer and decocker) and the new sig 320 that competes with this XDm jams a lot based on video I've seen. I want to buy this but want to see your firing vid and your compare vid.
I bought it before the promo started, I would have waited if I would have known..... I'll try and get it out shooting in the near future 👍

Oh, so, I went to pick it up and I didn't like the feel in my hand. Bummer. I didn't accept it. Everyone talks about how the sig is great in the hand like a 9, but from the vids I've seen it jams... AND I just saw a vid that compared them both and the dude actually surprised himself after shooting them at the range and picked the Springfield. So I know I missed out, but I'll keep looking.

Well..... you just out-ed yourself as someone who made a gun purchase
w/o "reading up" _ almost everyone knows about the double click on reset and to get rid of ir one needs to go with apex trigger or Powder River Precision. By this time I bet you have figured this out 4 yourself. Anyhow the aforementioned triggers reportedly get rid of the trigger problem
And you just outed yourself as someone who doesn't watch my videos......😂😂 I bought this gun as soon as it hit the stores after being released (before anyone said anything about the trigger). And since, it has a powder river precision trigger in it. As far as the optic, I have SA HEX DRAGONFLY on both the elite 10 compact, and the OSP Elite 9mm and love them. They match well, work well (similar to Vortex Venom) auto off after 16 hrs, 8 different brightness settings, and 150 thousand hours battery life (on lowest setting of course), and LASTLY right now is the the GEAR UP PROMOTION again by springfield, so when you buy an XD production firearm you register it, and get 4 extra mags and range bag :)
I've been eyeballing the hex, I may try one out. Unfortunately I bought that gun before the promotion started.... Missed it by 2 days 🤬

How does it do with hot loads? Underwood? Buffalo bore? Those 180-220 grain 1150-1300fps rounds?
It runs fine with buffalo bore... I haven't tried underwood

I have ran any hot loads in my m&p yet
