  • Throughout the years, many enthusiasts have come up with their own 5 year plans for each theme park, but here, we’ll venture off into the next decade. So for today, let’s take a look at what’s on the horizon for SeaWorld Orlando. Do keep in mind that everything I’m about to say is not confirmed by SeaWorld Entertainment. It’s just my personal take on what I believe will open and close in the next 10 years at SeaWorld Orlando. Obviously, most of this will likely NOT happen, but it’s always fun to try and predict the future in the theme park industry. Now with that said, let’s get into it.

    Considering that SeaWorld is by definition water themed, it seems like a Mack Power Splash would be a great fit here, especially in the Florida heat. I would love to see them get a launch tower & Screaming Swings too.

    The Turtle Reef area could use a major expansion with more ocean themed family ala Sea World San Antonio and the Happy Harbor area like an ocean themed family coaster!

    One of my ideas for SeaWorld Orlando is an expansion with a land themed after the primordial seas of the prehistoric past called “Ancient Sea of Prehistory” which would not only compete with and compliment the competing dinosaur themed lands of Dinoland USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Jurassic Park at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, but would also be dedicated to prehistoric creatures of land, air and sea including various dinosaurs and countless prehistoric sea creatures! Ancient Sea of Prehistory would feature such rides as a Mosasaur themed thrill ride called Mosasaur, a dinosaur themed boat ride, a spinning flat ride called “Primordial Sea Monster”, a primordial sea monsters and living fossils exhibit with sea creatures that are considered living fossils, etc.!

    My only worry is SeaWorld Orlando is that they’re going away from what set them apart. They used to be strictly focused on animals to differ from Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Now they actually have the most coasters in Orlando and I think they’re just gonna keep adding more and getting away from the.animal side of the park

      The worst part is that they haven’t even treated the animals that good anymore, most of the bigger fish have tattered fins, the sharks are too bruised, and we all know about the Whales and Dolphins.

    What SW Orlando needs is family/dark rides. Once the new coaster opens next year, I think they need to focus on rounding out the rest of the park with family rides. Sesame Street is great for toddlers but after that it is all thrills. They need a dark ride or 2.
    I think realistically we'll get a new entrance, a Penguin encounter replacement, maybe just got back to just the penguins similar to the shark encounter, more or less a walk-through. They definitely need to replace wild artic with something.
    But seeing how SW Orlando is big on the food/music festivals, I think they need to put some $$ into refurbing Bayside Stadium, especially since they use it year round.

      That kids’ IP should have its own dedicated standalone theme park in Florida with the same theme and have the Happy Harbor kids’ area still keep its theme and have a theme to the Wild Kratts animated series and a Bay of Play mini-land themed to the kids’ IP still keeping the Happy Harbor theme!

    they should do a mini dive coaster for SeaWorld and put it ware the Antarctica area and put in a first dark section and a finial dark area of the end of the ride. they can do a spot of the main gate for Brightline plus and if universal said we are good with Mario and Zelda but we don't want Splatoon so if Nintendo wants to bring Splatoon to a theme park SeaWorld can do it and take down turtle trek and put a GCI family coaster with steel track and fix up sesame street and put a new kids coaster maybe and put ice theming in wild arctic and icebreaker so it feels like the arctic and put a new sim or a new roller coaster and also they should do make a new bayside stadium and also put more theming for Mako and put flat rides around the park maybe in areas ware turtle trek was and yeah put a GCI and some flat rides there too and expend infinity falls and put a roller coaster just like wave breaker and there will be one more extinction for the sea of mystery's for the part it will be made titanic and take down that theater between Mako and infinity and add titanic so that will be my 10 year plan of SeaWorld and if they could do Splatoon that will make me surprised 😄

    Visited SWO today. My initial thoughts were that they need a family coaster like Hagrids or Big Thunder Mountain. Something with serious theming but some mild thrills. Kraken felt great. Would love some more theming added to it and a fresh coat of paint. Manta very uncomfortable riding life hill basically lying on your stomach.

    Great video and predictions as always! Despite what most people say, I think that SeaWorld Orlando is an amazing park that offers some of the best animal exhibits in the world and a world-class coaster collection.
    Over the last few years, SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment have been on an absolute roll with improving this park. We’d seen the additions of such investments as Mako, Infinity Falls, Sesame Street Land, and Ice Breaker. Now, with the addition of the long-awaited B&M Surf coaster, I can see why the future is certainly bright for SeaWorld Orlando.
    However, if I was in charge of the park, things would be a whole lot different and the future of SeaWorld Orlando (and the company) will change forever.

    • @justinchavez9530

      Now, without any further ado, here’s my take on what I could see the park doing going forward. BTW, some of these predictions might sound bold - which means that there’s a good chance of not happening…but, there is still a chance!
      2021 (Alternative version)
      - It’s clearly obvious that the company’s future business plan is now about roller coasters, rides and attractions instead of animals and shows. As sad as that is, in reality, these types of attractions bring in a much bigger draw and return on investment than a new show and exhibit would. In the next few years, the live shows would be getting phased out eventually from the parks, sooner than later. This trend could start with the leveling of the Dolphin Theater. The park’s original stadium was built back in 1973 and this 3,000 seat venue. We’d see the tanks remain and the park could convert this into a new dolphin exhibit of some kind, where guests can walk up and view the dolphins swimming in their natural habitat.
      - Taking a page from the Cedar Fair playbook, the park introduces three new dining venues: Altitude Burgers, Lakeside Grill and Edy’s Ice Cream Parlor. With these venues, a variety of food options and food types are added to expand the food the park offers.
      - Over at Aquatica, we’d see the park add a ProSlide Dueling Pipeline attraction called Riptide Race. This new attraction will be a Florida first and bring the park to now having the most slides in Orlando.
      - In September, the park debuts their new chilling, nightly haunted event, Howl-O-Scream. Guests will encounter roaming haunts rampaging through scare zones and haunted houses with dark passageways.
      2022 (Alternative version)
      - Since SeaWorld Orlando is pretty big on their food and musical festivals, I’ve got a feeling that they need to give the Bayside Stadium a much-needed refurbishment.
      - The new Premiere Rides Sky Rocket coaster, Ice Breaker, makes its debut. This multi-launch, family coaster delivers some surprisingly powerful airtime and offers the perfect in-between experience that offers a 48-inch height requirement, something that the park desperately needed.
      - Also, after being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sky Tower is reopened.
      - In late-July, the park announces the renovation of the Seaport Theater.

    • @justinchavez9530
      @justinchavez9530 2 роки тому +1

      2023 (Alternative version - 50th Anniversary)
      - The Seaport Theater reopens after getting some much-needed renovation. Unfortunately, the park no longer offers Pets Ahoy in this theater. So I could very well see the park completely gut the inside of the building and redesign it to accommodate a new, state-of-the-art flying theater attraction. It could be similar to Soarin’ at the Disney Parks or SkyFly Soar America at The Island at Pigeon Forge. This would offer a low-height requirement, decent capacity, a very positive guest experience attraction and, of course, another indoor attraction that offers AC.
      - The new, long-awaited Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) Surf coaster, rumored to be named High Surf, opens as the park’s next mega attraction. The coaster’s train will be a modern take on the stand-up coaster that’ll be much smoother and more comfortable than B&M’s old creations.
      - Despite the rumors of this attraction closing for good, I’d expect to see Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin to full reopen with it’s trackless, dark ride system still intact. With the reopening of the ride, they’re would be some enhanced theming, upgraded effects and possibly a whole new new storyline and theme, all together.
      - When people visit SeaWorld Orlando, there’s one area of the park that no one goes to check out and that’s the Turtle Reef section. This small area holds an indoor theater attraction that has been run down over the years. So, in early-September, the park would decide to tear down the building, there’s no need for that any more.

    • @justinchavez9530
      @justinchavez9530 2 роки тому +1

      2024
      - At the beginning of the year, a brand-new front gate experience for the park will be fully constructed and ready to welcome guests. With the B&M Surf coaster being located so close to the main entrance of the park, it only makes logical sense to update the area that gives guests first impressions when entering SeaWorld Orlando.
      - Now, as for what attraction that I could see replace the now-defunct Turtle Trek, the building’s plot of land is prime real estate for a new family coaster, like an actual one. Ice Breaker was originally designed as the perfect in-between coaster for the park that offers a 48-inch height requirement, something that SeaWorld Orlando desperately needed. However, within a few weeks of the coaster opening, Premiere Rides and the park raised the height requirement to 54-inches. With that, to make up for the huge Ice Breaker mishap, I’d add a Gerstlauer Family coaster to the area. Just imagine a FireChaser Express-type of ride that would actually bring guests over to this side of the park. Then, spruce up the area with a few family flat rides, a la SeaWorld San Antonio, a thrilling one (a clone of Tidal Surge), add a new quick-service restaurant (QS), a few shops and you pretty much got yourself an entirely new Turtle Reef-themed area. It would really breathe new life into this completely dead area of the park.
      - Also this year, a major expansion could happen at Aquatica. Currently, there’s a ton of construction going on over there, with some of the work focusing on a new parking lot to free up space near the park’s slide complexes. In terms of new slides, I’d think we’ll finally see the long-rumored water coaster.
      - Near the end of the year, I’d unfortunately see the Shamu Stadium getting removed.

    • @justinchavez9530
      @justinchavez9530 2 роки тому +1

      2025
      - I’d think that it is time for SeaWorld Orlando to improve their theming. Around this time, Epic Universe would open at the Universal Orlando Resort which would might offer the best theming anywhere. Let’s imagine, SeaWorld wants to get in on that action.
      - Mako would get some additional theming in place.
      - Much like the Dolphin Theater, the 7,000 seat Shamu Stadium is also not in the best of shape. Throw that in with the company not breading Orcas anymore, so eventually and sadly, they’ll be no more Orcas at the park in the future. So, I think that SeaWorld could look at creating a new multi-level viewing area added all around the main show tank. This way, just like with the new Dolphin Theater idea, guests can see the Orcas anytime they want to and not be forced to watch the show.
      - Kraken could get re-tracked and fully updated. This wouldn’t be just a repaint but this would be like The Incredible Hulk Coaster treatment at Islands of Adventure.
      - I’d also expect to see the park’s Howl-O-Scream event to be scarier than Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. In my opinion, a good haunted house that relies more on jump scares than theatrical sets is a direction that SeaWorld could take with this event.
      2026
      - Sesame Street Land could get some minor touch-ups and possibly a new kid coaster.
      - A new daytime parade makes its way through the park, Sea Celebrations. This parade will feature a full cast of SeaWorld characters (i.e. costumed sea turtles, sharks, polar bears, penguins, etc.) and various land-worthy and seaworthy floats parading along the shores and waters of SeaWorld’s lake. Three of the floats will use amphibious “duck” vehicles as they switch from land to water to land again. Music and pageantry will highlight the parade, as well as the novelty of floats that can actually float.
      Well, we’re at the halfway mark of these predictions for the future of SeaWorld Orlando. What do you think of them so far? Let me know your thoughts.

    • @justinchavez9530
      @justinchavez9530 2 роки тому +1

      2027
      - When Wild Arctic closed in 2020, it resulted in the prevention of most park guests from seeing and exploring one of the best exhibits in the park. Currently, you can still visit the exhibit, but you have to enter through the gift shop. But as you can guess, this exhibit isn’t near as popular as it once was. So I predict, that we could see SeaWorld Orlando giving the simulator a major refurbishment, upgraded to HD with in-theater effects and an all-new film, re-emerging as Wild Arctic: Megalodon.
      - Also this year, the long-rumored on-site hotel would finally make its debut. Originally, this project was going to be built at the front of the park, but now with the B&M Surf coaster and the front gate proposal, there’s no space for that there. Now, I think that the park would build a new 300-room themed hotel right next to Aquatica.
      - I’d expect to see another expansion happen for Aquatica. By 2027, there’d be some new waterslide concept in the waterpark industry that SeaWorld would want to jump on for the Orlando park.

    I have a list of ideas to improve SeaWorld Orlando from 2010-onward with the on-site hotel, a revamped Journey to Atlantis, an expanded Happy Harbor area with a Bay of Play mini-land for a specific kids’ IP and more family-friendly rides like some flat rides and dark rides, more dark rides for the park, re-tracks for Kraken and Manta, more animal attractions, the various ride and attraction additions that happened in the last few years, and a second gate theme park for the SeaWorld Orlando Resort adjacent to the on-site hotel!

    Honestly I think the biggest thing holding SeaWorld back is the animal care and stuff like that, and that's what people really get worried about. There's tons of documentaries and all that about how awful the animal care is. This is honestly tragic to me and I think that if they get rid of the big animals and kept it sea themed with minor aquarium notes would help a lot. Some of my genuine favorite rides that have stuck with me since my trip in literally the fifth grade are housed there and finding out how awful it is broke me. The Atlantis ride is honestly an old favorite to me and part of it sticks with me I'm not sure why, as well as the mako being one of the first big roller coasters I'd ever ridden and after I started riding faster paced coasters it was always right at second in my favorites under everest (until recently)
