Hey Will...the Chevy Trax RS is a pretty nice SUV...I work at a Chevy dealership in Indiana and people are buying them like crazy...we had 6 came in and we sold all 6 in 2 days...2 of them were friends of mines and they're both loving it
@@In-obscurity-n7j IF it is the same engine and transmission as the outgoing generation, they will be just fine. That wind sway can be brutal on some SUVs. It slaps the LR4 pretty hard, but that thing weighs a few tons so it works out. My Veloster wants to switch lanes when it gets windy
I owned 2 different Chevy Trax. One was the All Wheel Drive. The issue with the wind that you described is because the weight of the vehicle is way too light to handle heavy winds. I was once blown off the highway during a windstorm. The Chevy Trax is not worth it. I now have a 2022 Chevy Equinox RS. No issues with the wind. It’s a heavier vehicle.

I never cared for American cars because of their history of poor fit & finish and poor quality but when you showed how nice this Chevy was I began to change my mind. When the window didn’t open it shocked me back to reality. Japanese or Euro only for this brother.
Chevy and GM interiors for many, many years were poor quality. By 2006 they had to improve to compete. Still, Toyota makes a superior vehicle. As quality is their culture and emphasis.
I’ve had two Chevy’s, two Audis, a Mercedes, and a BMW…the Chevys (both Volts) were hands down the most reliable and had the fewest issues. The Audis and BMW in particular were messes. Chevys had pretty great build quality (especially the second gen one) as well, never a rattle or squeak from either. Anecdotal? Sure, but things change and super generalizations are really not that accurate.

They nailed the front end design, blew the rear end 😂 good review Will nonetheless
Styling is subjective, I found the entire package attractive
Gm never fails to make the front sexy af and mess up the rear so bad (C5, C8 Corvettes, Lyriq, Trax, Escalade IQ, etc) lol
The Buick version of this car (I forget what it's called lol) looks a lot better imo.
Great review!! super convenient for me because i live in the same area. i know how the freeways sound with my little 2012 hyundai now so this whole thing helps a lot. definitely sold this car on my top 5 for sure
Thanks for sharing. How comfortable is it for the passengers in the back since there isn't a rear vent? Thanks in advance!
It’s always seeing someone who looks just like me (African American) do things that society labels that we can’t never do! Buying a car for your mom is like one of my dreams! Paid in full!
9:14 Common issue with the window switches. I do like this car but the computer issues showing so early on is scary to say the least.
I just drove the Chevy trailblazer. Basically the same car. It is wonderful to drive . It will fly. That turbo kicks it. One of the best little cars. Loaded with all the things. Try it tom
The Trailblazer is available with the 1.3 turbo with a timing chain. The Trax comes with a 1.2 engine with wet belts.
Do not get the 1.2. Research PSA 1.2 turbo engines with "wet belts."
Just a quick note to viewers: the seating material is simulated leather; no real leather for any Trax trims. Between the Trax and Buick Envista, only the Envista offers real leather...on the front seats for the Avenir trim level.
It's fine.
The fake leather usually lasts longer 😂
its GM evotex. Same material used in certain escalades.
For those who hesitate based on the power train, you can find dealers that provide a lifetime non transferable power train warranty. Cost you less than a thousand extra. As long as you plan to keep it long term, it makes this price point a steal for everything else this car comes with.
They're nice riding, nice to drive, nice overall feel.
Great review, sense honesty in your words. Look forward to buy one next year. Regards from Mexico.
Thanks for watching!
Chevy is the way to go now a days due to prices. 2024 Traverse is looking good as well
Not really, you just end up back in the repair shop cause you spent money on low qualityness not something reliable 😂
@@cormaro13Boy your Hatred for it appears eating you up inside. We get it if it doesn't cost more than say 50k it's junk addtude. I just sold my Mercedes because it was literally falling apart with just under 60k on the speedo. And there was no way I was going to take a cross country trip in it. As it would have probably broke down each time I entered a different state. We get it you hate the trax. Get over it already your worst then a Stale box of Donuts 🙄
@cormaro1376 it all depends on the owner. New technology sucks but that's how life is. Is all controlled
Love the fact that you got mom a nice SUV. I want one for myself but the activ package 😊
Im liking this type of videos.. little bit different of your usual supercar type of videos.. hope you do more of these
More to come!
Got about 2K on my Activ trim and I LOVE HERRRR
Very clever Will, especially when you're talking about a Lamborghini and the camera pans by your open garage door. You know how to write the script for a great video, sir!
Glad you liked it! 😅
What do you think about long-term reliability? I drove this car and it was fun. But I worry about it in five years.
Not sure just yet
I'm a New Subscriber as of Today PERIODT
Your description As a poor man's lambo is correct. Pretty features as well as performance that is very good for its category
Great owner review my guy. I most definitely want this model. Simple yet stylish 👍🏾😎
Good choice
Good review Will I am 64 love your videos and your motivation I am retired from ups but every time I watch your videos I feel like I need to keep going but anyway I just bought a2022 Ford Edge ST 335 hp 21 inch wheels I love it it’s a suv that you can’t wait to drive its fun thought about Chevrolet blazers you get a chance test drive one your viewer MikePierce Lexington, Kentucky keep doing what your doing
Thanks brother. Enjoy the ride!
For awhile, all cars looked alike. This one, the Trax has nice styling detail.
You had a lot of room in that back seat and you ain't necessarily the smallest person either. When you stepped out you're looking right over top of the car. Impressive room for a small SUV.
I thought this thing was a Blazer until I actually noticed Trax was a different model line. I think this thing would look soooweeeeeet with about a 1-2" lowering kit, just a tad bit. I'm a sucker for lowered SUVs/trucks, though.
It’s really a nice car
I saw one at the red light next to me and thought it was a good looking car
Great review. Any idea on the reliability of the engine? Turbos? I assume with proper maintenance and normal driving, it should last easy 100,000?
Yea it is a brand new car so I am not sure of long term reliability but it has a good warranty on it and I think it'll do well over 100k miles.
@@WillMotivationu wish fool😂 it's a 10 year transmission design that already had issues when they keep shoving it into everything and it's a tiny engine with a turbo, expect pvc problems and problems with the turbos
If they were putting new engines in before 100k mileage on the cruzes what makes u think this any different? 😂😂
Depending on weather and maintenance it should last over 150. My mom has a 11 year old Captiva with 172k on it. She bought a Buick to replace it but the Cap is still going as a second vehicle. Keep in mind she lives in those extreme Midwest conditions with 9 months of winter.
@joypeaceandhappiness1501 completely differnet quality than what's been produced now, there's a reason they need another bail out lol
@cormaro1376 I've seen quite a few negative comments from you under all the Trax post. Did Chevrolet do something to you?
Hello! May I ask how you feel about it after several months? also what is the AVG MPG you get? Thank you
Hi there. I actually sold it and got my mom a little mercedes that she liked.
I never cared for American cars because of their history of poor fit & finish and poor quality but when you showed how nice this Chevy was I began to change my mind. When the window didn’t open it shocked me back to reality. Japanese or Euro only for this brother.
This isn’t a GM product. It’s a leftover vestige of their partnership with Daewoo and it’s manufactured in Korea.
Facts build in south Korea
ahh so the same company that was building the sparks.. im surprised they also make the trax too.@@LlyleHunter
This isn’t built in the USA. It’s built in the GM factory in South Korea.
Good revolution of Trax, In Cambodia isn't available black color yet. Hope to see soon
😍
Thanks for the video I was able to show my dad this. And now he wants to update his 2020 trax. To this.
You’re welcome
Looking to trade in our car for this. You sold me with your knowledge on the throttle compared to your Audi’s and lambos.
I love cars, you just got a subscriber from me
Glad I could help
No available AWD. Made in Korea. Ranked 14 out of 17 subcompact SUV's by U.S. News.
I have been thinking about getting one. I like the space have you gone up hill with 4 passengers and cargo
Yes no problem
*A WHOPPING $4,000 premium for getting the 2RS package from the base model. And it still has the FWD, 1.2L turbo, 6-speed automatic package. So, $4,000 USD for a sunroof, leather, heated seats, an upgraded grill and front bumper and bigger rims?*
*RIPOFF!! I'd just get the 1RS and spend the extra $795 to add the sunroof.*
Weird how it’s called “Trax”, which sounds like it was derived from “track” as in off-road tracks or “traction” and yet, the AWD option was dropped.
Yea the name is kinda confising
@@WillMotivation Also I just realized, the new Dodge Charger will be offered only in AWD, despite the fact that hardly anyone chose that option on its predecessors. It seems like automakers are starting to lose their minds and offer the opposite of what their customers are demanding.
Historically throughout all history, most men, particularly black men, would have loved to have given their mother just a simple ‘hug’, but they couldn’t because of many reasons, let alone give their mother’ a car these days. Much to be grateful about👍🙂
I'm thinking about getting one this summer and paying it off real quick...
It’s not a natural motor either. It’s got a turbo so that will help with the engine not sounding like it’s struggling.
Good review thank you. I am 5'10 and you helped me with my decision.
Glad I could help
It'll be disappointing if you don't keep this around (you're mom isn't feeling it vs. her Merc. - understandable) as this seems to be a really good car. I'm by no means a "Chevy fan" but even I've thought of one of these for my daughter as a great alternative to a used car. I think Chevy and Buick hit these out of the park. Sounded like you scored a great deal too... BTW you're rolling through my old turf there in Gahanna - I grew up there and now live in Pickerington.
Keep making it happen and looking forward to watching more of your videos!
The Buick is much better looking IMO and the price difference seems almost negligible. At least in regards to MSRP
How would this Trax perform in a midwestern winter season? I live in Indiana and I understand it’s only a fwd
Great question
It's actually Evotex (faux leather) interior.
But many faux leather/leatherette interiors these days looks just like real leather. It's come a long way.
the real question is WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD is that?? place looks beautiful and im in the market for a home
Blacklick ohio
Would you class this as a car or an SUV? I've seen it while driving, but not while walking by. On video it looks like a larger car, but when driving past one I'd think it's an SUV. Looking for a new ride as we have a son and possibly for a second kid eventually.
Yes I consider it an SUV for sure
@WillMotivation I appreciate the reply. Thank you and take care!
If Lamborghini & Chevrolet had a baby this what is look like lol 😂
😝😝
Nice review. Did you take it back for the Benz?
Yes I did. Had to get mom what she likes
Press and hold for 10 seconds the driver window button. Depress it and it should reset
I have a heavily modified 2019 trax I really like the new one the body style is nice
I think this video will sell quite a few of these Trax for Chevy. Looks like they got this small suv right.
I think so 👍🏽
Good review Will. Maybe you can review the Buick version of this platform. There's an Envista Avenir that looks like a slick little ride. Sorry your Mom wasn't feeling this one. That's very nice of you to get her what she wanted.
I will check it out for sure!
I really dont understand how chevy would give a 24k sub compact suv a better interior than the 53k mid size blazer rs. Smh
Nice car! Congratulations to you and your mother 🎉❤ What a blessing!
Thank you so much!
not gonna lie, that side view has that toned down urus vibe, is the window lock on ? I don't think it can break that fast, probably just the window lock button got pushed by mistake
It started working later
Good review...at it's price point (provided Chevy dealers don't start jacking the prices...) these are going to sell like hotcakes.
Facts!!
This. A salesman at Chevrolet in Lugoff, SC tried to quote me 27k last week and said he'd come down to 25,500 for the basic LS model. I went right to another Chevy dealership in the state. I feel bad for who he manages to swindle.
Sell Like hot cakes til the public finally sees its nothing but trash like the rest of their line up 😂
Nice Trax. Great value. Unfortunately the only thing besides status a Mercedes gets you is sub par reliability and astronomical maintenance costs.
Thanks for the info!
I'd like a none turbo 2.0 option hopefully they add it next time
the turbo adds Toque though.. Lke the base 2.0l 4cyl MAzda 3 has slightly more HP, but 30 lb-ft LESS Torque!
