I'm currently living in a share house 190 a week all utilities covered in Melbourne. I pretty much just eat Greek yogurt rice and peanut butter sandwiches. My only expenses are food Gym and fuel. Currently this is the happiest I've ever been in my life because I'm in the best shape physically and mentally.
@ thanks for the vids. I’ve seen so many good men lose so much as the divorce asset carve up generally favours women. One needs to then find a new roof to put over their head and this feeds into the housing crisis. A solid marriage is the best situation financially. 100%. I would say it’s more important than income.
My nephew is 16. Hated school. Started trade school this year and is becoming a plumber. Loves it. Has two part time jobs now and is already saving for a house. He now has focus and motivation. Uni isnt for everyone
Solution is to leave, it’s that simple. Australia, UK, USA having lived in all three; they are all broken beyond repair. Australian governments don’t get it. You cannot increase a population without infrastructure it’s that simple. Too many monopolies, duopolies, quadopolies, an irrational relationship between rates and housing prices the list goes on. Stagnant wages, too much outsourcing, far too much reliance on Chinese trade = 20% of GDP hod help us when that crashes. Run people and keep running.
Albanese has let over 1,000,000 people in in the last 2 terms. He wants us to believe that the Immigration Department is properly assessing 10,000 applications per week? Fantasy.
Where do you recommend to live? I agree with everything that you said btw. I live in Vienna which was the number 1 city for quality of life in the whole world. In the last few years Vienna is gone to fuck and its really sad
Hey bro, thanks for the video. Seems like I’ve got a lot in common with you. Very similar age but from Syd. I’ve got a few properties and you’re bang on, they do not make you rich. I’m looking at selling them all (except my home of course) and diversifying into other assets. The days of making money on property in Australia is dead. Also, spot on with uni, except for specific qualifications like medicine, law or psychology. All the other degrees are an absolute waste of money. Best thing I ever did was get into coal mining at 20 years old. Worked my ass off, sacrificed a lot and missed out on all the going out and partying in my 20s, but now in my late 30s I’m set and can live the life I want to live. Can definitely agree that you’re doing it right my bro. Keep it up 💪🏼
Appreciate you stopping by ledge! A very based answer man I do agree those higher up degrees are worth getting apart from that it's a solid waste of time. Sounds like you sacrificed right in this life and I'm super stoked for you that you're absolutely dominating it now. Wishing you all the best man in your upcoming endeavours..
Good to have a fresh perspective on this, agreed with some of your points outlined. Uni isn't for everyone and it does not make it everyone well off depending on what field you are in such as dentistry, psychiatry, medicine, law etc. 100% agreed trades on site (especially in Tier 1) make more than the average Australian and as much or if not more than the staff that work for the builder/ head contractor such as the site managers, foremen, project managers etc however there are pros & cons to both roles as you are putting your body on the line hence why you get compensated well. The construction mangement team deal with more mental stress with the coordination with the trades, design, engineers, architects, authorities, safety, deadlines with programmes, budgets hence why so many builders go bust due to paper thin margins and little room for error. Like you said construction in general / pre-cast panel install is a dangerous gig, one panel that falls will instantly kill someone & hence why you are compensated well for what you do. Construction both for the trades & builder can be mentally draining and hence why we have so many issues in the industry with mental health, addiction etc. Having a mortgage atm with these rates places a barrier on flexibility to a lot of things such as moving around, travel, choices we make with lifestyle & agreed there are other avenues not just property to make an income on the side. People that have generational wealth you simply cannot compete with however there are other ways that you can make money outside of property. Biggest take from this is to invest in yourself.
great reminder, one of my regrets is not getting a trade & chose a career in the corporate world, one of challenges is now is how to reinvent your career in your 50's
I came across your videos today and i cant stop watching them 😂 Thank you for speaking with such honesty :) Im a 34 year old girl and i completely agree that trading is the way to go. Is there a useful trade a girl can do? Im a radiographer by the way
Haha thanks legend! Yeah just speaking what's on my mind. If you're in Melbourne, there are heaps of jobs going on in infrastructure (government work) I'll release a video tomorrow about the industry and what you can do....
@FilipGregov Thank you i will definitely watch that :) However i live in Vienna(Austria). Your videos really motivated me to try and learn a new skill. You are dead right about everything that you said!
8:30 exactly and you always have a skill to fall back on. If more young men got into a trade at 16-18 they'd be qualified while they're still young making bank.
I've noticed so many Aussies are outdated. Uni and paying off a house is a huge scam now days. People need to learn money management too and invest in things like bitcoin. So many ways to make money online also, you just need to start learning which you can do at home. Stop listening to outdated friends and family, it's sad I know but once you are aware you have already made the hardest step, then the rest is history
Good morning Filip. Not sure how you came up through my algorithm, but I do believe this channel will go big very fast. University isn't only about the Dept but about the ideas and the propaganda pushing in your head. Isn't by accident that most kids are pretty normal before they enroll and then after uni they have mental health problems. Isn't all the same I know, but most are.... Cheers
A real important conversation… The system is the system for a reason. The only thing we can do is get yo work and elevate. Thanks for stopping by ledge 🤝
The majority grow wealth from property or business. Many are suited to uni(tertiary education) or straight into a trade. If you are getting 180-200 then why arent you in a property of your own? The problem these days is property won't 3-4x like it has over the past 20+yrs. I will say though, education and income are a top priority. Learn more to earn more. Keep your costs low, too. I feel for the youth these days with the value of properties now. Teach your kids abiut saving early and establish savings for a start.
Some great advice in here love it, but the property advice may only apply to a younger person or someone who has chosen a life with out a family / kids. A family needs a home to live in. And renting is just as expensive as having a mortgage. And renting comes with worries and concerns , also your paying off someone else’s mortgage. Great advice on some topics though keep up the great work
Hey, geelong girl here. Been interesting to see your take. Lot of people from Melbourne are moving here,. The rent is cheaoer... just. Have a great day !
Hey Lucy, yeah I've noticed that to get the cost of living down. Looks like Geelong is going to be a good little hub there in the coming years. I'm personally looking for investments over there. Thanks for the comment and all the best in the new year
whats your opinion on getting together a solid down payment and having a tenant pay off your mortgage + some profit? seems like a decent way to set up a future asset and make some side income.
I’m no property expert but if you have a decent enough down payment where it’s kind of positively geared from day 1 and it’s not taking from you. Yeah sure wouldn’t be bad particularly if you’re buying around growth area with a little bit of land..
The corvette could have been brought with finance. They could be living off their credit card. Or an old man living off the money from a property he brought a few decades ago.
Older people ( like me ) have houses , superannuation, shares etc , we are just trying to stay alive that’s our priority, we don’t need money , maybe you can do some exercise videos or cooking
This is spot on bro - uni is a massive waste of time if youre not going to be a doctor barrister engineering. I still did over a decade of work in the industry I got my bachelors for however, I just couldnt increase my wage fast/high enough - couldnt get the promotions quick enough and really didnt see myself setting up a business in the industry....so I began to think laterally and went for the bag in the quickest way possible -crypto :) I learnt the skills from scratch to do really well for myself, just live off of managing my capital and learning the legacy markets to diversify into, like you Im very grateful Probably the wrong video to ask but how are you so cut? Did you cut out pasta/bread/carbs completely or something?
You’re not wrong there man, crypto is definitely part of the new generation arsenal to get to where you need to go quicker. Good on ya man! I’ll do a video soon on everything that I eat and some principles to go by. Enjoy your day man
Invest your money into +10% (nasdaq or bitcoin) or a business (you know better than me). Other than this if you just work more you're not going to get ahead of the australian recession
So you've been riding on the Victorian Government's infrastructure boom? How long will it last? There's already talk about the parlous state of the government's finances.
All paths are closed for those starting in 2025. Real estate at peak ripe for a fall, stocks at peak will fall, crypto will fall huge, jobs to be replaced via AI. No way out and boomers and politicians are to blame.
Bro, what do you think is gonna happen to the wages for trades once everyone, including the new migrants converge on the last remaining good pay? Well, it's gonna be just like finance, engineering and IT jobs! Salaries and wages will depress in the trades as well. There's well over a billion indians looking to call Australia home!😂😂😂 Pure cope mate. It's basically mathematically impossible for most people to own a home etc. The walls will continue to close in and social mobility will reduce to the point of Europe/UK/USA unless mummy and daddy have money.
This is where you need to start building some online skills now and create value/ become valuable in your area of expertise before everything gets over saturated. Construction will always be going, just get as qualified as you can in that field so you're at the top of the field in whatever you're doing. Become undeniable, have good habits, work ethic, present well and be likeable and you'll be sweet in any endeavor
@FilipGregov Everyone is already trying to get online now to do their digital side hustle. Your tune would be different if your were being paid 110k in construction. With the advent of AI etc online opps will become even narrower.
This guy is a total fake!. Apparently earns $200k per year but pays over 3K a month in rent, while paying off someone else's mortgage. Apparently has all these "investments". Advising people to not go to uni and gain higher education to better themselves. You can see he doesn't even believe in half the crap he's saying! What people will say for UA-cam views. Something is definitely off.
All real estate has fell in value since 2021. Taking a mortgage now is full of risk. Better to rent and watch from the sidelines mortgagees burn under interest rates. Always wait for market to bottom out before buying property.
