I feel so sad when I hear her performance of Royals. She got eliminated in this round. Like how? That performance. Her version completely erased the original in my mind. People were enjoying it. It was spectacular. How?!
we have the same reaction. i stay tuned with the show when it was still showing and i got sad when she was eliminated.
but i heard/watched/read comments explaining the reason why she was eliminated was because mostly, during that time of the competition, it was already going tight and the 500 "music judges" that were invited to vote liked her song/rendition/performance but by the end of all the performances, they just decided to vote for the person they decided to vote for in the beginning since most competitors are not safe (since i think they must maintain a proper ranking to stay each segment).
I think because "Royals" was never a hit in China and a lot of them are not familiar with this song. She should have pick a song that even if it's not familiar to the audience, it's something easy to listen. This is way too sophisticated for the Chinese audience I'm afraid. Personally for me this is dope as you can see her artistry by comparing it to the original. This part is sadly lost to the audience.

KZ is ALL that and then some! The performance is a year old but it still blows my mind. What I love about KZ is that you never know what to expect, except that it will SLAY! It's amazing how much power there is in that tiny little body. It's rare...like Bruno Mars, Prince, or Gaga performance to the core. Great reaction again!

That's why kz tilted as "asia soul supreme" 'cause everytime kz sings expect already that every single words and lyrics has a character. Her authentic,creativity and distinct style of music is so rare and phenomenal. And i've watched also the day you've meet kz and that was so fun to watch your reactions seeing kz in person and even kz recognized you guys

This is the most profound impression of KZ Tandingan as a person, and as a musician. She is a rare gem in the music industry that should give inspiration to aspiring and existing singers and musicians out there. One should understand the art in order to become THE art, and without further telling, you have educated people what a craft is. KZ Tandingan is a great example of someone who worked hard on her craft, having nodules at a young age which distressed her, but ultimately found a way to embrace that and hone it in a way that embraces her back. She is a living art in music. I love her, and I feel so blessed to have witnessed a musician who does not only do covers or sing original songs, but someone who understands the complexity of music poetry, and perform it in a way that a common person understands. And that is the perfect way of sharing art appreciation. You understand, work hard for it, become it, and share it. She is a living legend.
