Your video editing skills are really good, one thing about film cameras. The mirror doesn't affect the images in an SLR since it flips up out of the way when taking an exposure. If you're able to focus the camera, it should work fine, if the mirror is not fully moving out of the way thats when you will have to replace the mirror or just get a different camera like you did. I have several film cameras with crack mirrors that work fine. Keep making film photography content. The light leaks usually come from bad seals in film door, those can be replaced easily.
Awesome! With the photos that you wish were warmer and stuff, it's totally normal to edit your film scans in photoshop or lightroom, all the film shooters I know do it all the time, warm them up and play with the contrast if you like! The lab that develops them is editing them anyway so you might as well, I'm always happier after doing it myself! Shooting film is the best though I hope you enjoy
Good stuff. Love the editing. The view of the bottom mirror you see every time you take out the lens on slr’s is so reduced most of the time you won’t notice cracks / fungus or dirt when looking at the viewfinder. It’s the focusing screen at the top that makes the image visible 🤠
I hope you have a bunch of fun using film, I certainly do. remember to take it slow and really feel the camera doing it's thang. i think that's the best part anyways
