This episode is dedicated in loving memory of Jeremy Earnshaw, the son of Darryl and Ruth, who passed away in a tragic accident off the coast of Australia on Father’s Day in 2008. Jeremy was a larger than life kind of guy whose legacy lives on. It was an honor to sit down and hear the story of his life and what transpired after his passing. This is a beautiful journey of beauty from ashes, as Darryl and Ruth navigated such uncharted waters.

It took great courage to share this. Glad for the emphasis on how Jesus is always present.
Through it all, they have a personal testimony. Not just about loss, but about life in Christ. Important highlights for me were: Ruth said she had to "take her grieving thoughts captive, to the obedience of Christ." Darryl makes sure his testimony isn't about their loss of their dear son, but it is about lifting up the name of Jesus. This precious couple attended our home group in Texas and I know them to be faithful and loving. I am honored to know them and our church is privileged to help support their ministry.

Tough story/heartbreaking, but Darryl and you did great.. You are both very strong.
Do you know what is interesting on the timing of the podcast? Back in 2008, Father's Day landed on the 16th when Jeremy passed away and, again yesterday, landed on the 16th. I know Father's Day is always on the 3rd Sunday in June, but I find it interesting.
