The way it broke my heart when Geralt said that he, Yennefer and Ciri would help each other because what’s destined can’t be avoided. LIKE WHAT ABOUT JASKIER.. HE WAS LITERALLY TORTURED BECAUSE OF YOU AND EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE AN ASS IS STILL THERE FOR YOU!!!! Season 2 showed that, honestly Geralt and Yennefer didn’t realise or pay attention to how they treated Jaskier.
Yennefer traumatised him because of how she tried to trap a genie for her womb, and then tried to seduce him after he was traumatised.
Geralt has always treated Jaskier like a thorn in his side and did not once try to reciprocate any of the friendship.
If Jaskier wasnt a happy-go-lucky smarmy bard, he would have every right to tell them both to fuck off forever.
This is one of the few things I dislike in the show; in the books, they really are friends and Geralt has no trouble admitting it.
@@WildSpiritsCoaching yeees, the polish show also leans towards that angle for what I've seen. Really, netflix didn't need to make him act like that towards him all the time to make him seem "more mysterious and manly"
Not to mention the fact that he was in love with Geralt the whole time and Geralt treated him like trash just because his relationship ended and none of it was Jaskier's fault!
If you think about it Jaskier was responsible for all the bads and problems that happened to Geralt. For example he invited him to the Cintra feast on which Geralt asked for the child of surprise.

That's actually one of the lines I'm the most mad about... Don't get me wrong, Jaskier had some great moments in this season but the moment he reunited with Geralt he went back to being the character that's only here to make the audience laugh.
Like, Jaskier has a brain you know. I'm pretty sure even him wouldn't be insensitive enough to talk to a stranger about family just after half of his actual family was massacred, that was just unnecessary comical relief

I love how 0:18 is actually a reveal to the audience about how Yennefer truly sees Jaskier. She smiles, because she sees him as trustworthy and a genuine good person, despite all their bad blood and bickering in season 1, and so her worry about who the Sandpiper is, and what comes next, disappears.

Was sad to see that he's still treated like comic relief this season when my boy was the most mistreated character of them all 😭😭 like Ciri ignored him, the other witchers and Vesemir didn't speak to him/saw him as a nuisance and the whole "take this rock to Geralt" thing in the last ep felt like it was just to place him in the battle and make him scurry away from debris and human remains in a really weird attempt to alleviate the gravity of the situation?? Like they didn't even do the comic relief right. Like he singlehandedly helped the world see witchers differently and probably made their interactions with people a bit better, a mention of that from the others would have been nice. But no, eternally undervalued is his most consistent trait I guess. Jaskier is a well-liked part of the series (the only reason I really watch it, and I'm not alone) and there's so many reasons for him to get along with Ciri and the rest, that it just broke my heart that they gave us absolutely nothing

@@Amynity i get what you're saying, and I can honestly make that argument for Geralt and Ciri too. She irritated me SO MUCH the first season 🤦 but that's why we analyse them as characters in the story and not as real life people. And in the story Jask is supposed to be Geralt's friend

@@arigatoxzx same. I was suggested one of these types of videos one day in April 2020 and was curious. Watched the suggested vid and a couple other fanvids and decided I needed to watch the Witcher. After watching the Witcher I decided I needed more Joey Batey, looked him up, discovered his band, and now The Amazing Devil is a close second fave, almost tied with my first fave, band.

And then UA-cam recommended me a video that said sth like “Jaskier being a bisexual drama queen (I think? Can’t remember exactly) for ___ minutes straight” and I clicked cuz I was bored. And then immediately after I finished watching that video, I was rushing to Netflix to start watching the show because I fell in love with him and wanted to see more of him. I have Jaskier and Joey Batey to really thank for that because through them I also found some of my most favourite songs and I also started playing The Witcher 3 which ended up as my most favourite game as of now.

Honestly Joey Batey’s performance is one of the highlights of the series. While he is comic relief, there’s an underlying humanity of a person who wants to be loved.
Jaskier's back is probably hurting for carrying the entire show with his charm and beauty. 💕
