  • Geode resin art is a growing trend in art recently. This geode artwork lesson is done on a glass mirror that found a new life after years in storage. Testing a new resin - Clear Cast 7000, that made this experience a pleasure. Sharing Moonkusser Art methods of creating crystal clusters from start to finish. And as always, some of my pearls of wisdom throughout the tutorial that I find helpful.

    Thankyou so much for your slow paced videos that go in depth! I have a question. Complete newbie here so sorry if it’s already obvious but When you put the seed bead glass down how did you attach them?

    • @MoonkusserArt
      @MoonkusserArt  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you Sara. Appreciate you watching my channel. Adding the seed beads at 37:52 in the video I mentioned that the beads are mixed into resin. It is a small amount of clear resin to coat the beads and hold them in place. 👍🏻

    It's stunning the way it turned out! Just had a question, if its okay with you - how do you clean out the equipment like pipette and squeeze bottles, filled with resin residues?

    • @MoonkusserArt
      @MoonkusserArt  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks Shruti. The pipettes are not reusable after epoxy resin. Squeeze bottles can be reused if you remove the top after using and clean with alcohol. I turn the bottle upside down and let the resin cure overnight. The next day I squeeze the bottle and the resin releases from the sides and can be pulled out. I then clean with alcohol. FYI - This does not always work.

    Is there a reason you choose not to tape the frame?

    • @MoonkusserArt
      @MoonkusserArt  2 роки тому

      Yes. I wanted the resin to adhere to the frame so ensure it stays put. Resin will sometimes let go from glass and I thought this would help avoid that

    why waste your time with the dremel when you cover the edges anyway?

    • @MoonkusserArt
      @MoonkusserArt  4 роки тому +1

      Removing excess to better blend under cover of resin layer.

    • @krissaSG1

      Or hot glue them down so you aren't wasting dermal bits and time . And what beautiful art ! 🎨

    • @MoonkusserArt

      Hot glue does not stick well to glass

  • @carolhowland9734

    Umm I’d be concerned about using those measurements because the resin weighs more than water

    • @MoonkusserArt
      @MoonkusserArt  3 роки тому +2

      The water is only to get equal parts by volume. Hardener and resin do not weigh the same but water and water does.
