I am looking to learn to do this kind of work. I am already in the battery business but mainly dealing with smaller lead acid batteries. Do you offer any training on replacing cells in forklift batteries? We can perhaps talk more about compensation of your time. Thanks. Get back with me.
There is an important rule to follow called the 8-8-8 rule. Eight hours use. Eight hours charging. Eight hours cool down. Your battery will be warm when in use. That is normal. If it is hot, there could be a problem. A weak cell (or cells), using a battery that has an amp hour rating that is too low for your equipment, low cell water levels, and over discharging the battery are some causes of a hot battery. Heat is the enemy of every battery.
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out how to recondition used car batteries try Trefendous Rapid Extender Tips (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.

why is there no danger of it exploding the gasses from the cell?
You remove the vent caps so the hydrogen can escape.
Use the oxygen from the torch to blow gas out of a hot battery.
isn't it dangerous to expose the gasses emitted by the battery to fire?
You blow the gas out of the individual cells first with air
I know how to do it,,
