Enjoyed the episode very much! Enjoy your time in the US. I love hearing about your time with the grandchildren. Mine bring me so much joy, as well! Take care 😊
Another great episode Dinie, I think you matched your dahlia beautifully with your yarn dye and can’t wait to see your shawl. I just really appreciate how real you are with us. I vote for an episode while you are here in the states if you have time….certainly don’t stress over doing one and take no time from visiting with Patrick but I would love to see what you get up to. Thrift shopping is something I really enjoy also. Til next time….
Lovely to see you tonight. Your work is beautiful. I absolutely loved your dyed yarn, totally captured the dahlia. I love hearing about the mill, gives me a greater appreciation of what goes into producing the yarn we use. I'm currently making a full bed size corner to corner crochet blanket. I'm trying to use up some of the wool that's been accumulating around the house. It's in DK weight & a very easy pattern to pick up. I'm on the decreasing side now so it's getting shorter with every row. The Shoe workshop sounds amazing. As someone with a long, wide foot I'd love to be able to custom make a pair of sneakers. Hope you get some time for knitting over the next few weeks. Take care. Best wishes from 🇮🇪
I have dyed and knitted 2 garments with the DEA mohair/silk, using Landscape Dyes. It dyes very easily, but I did have to add a bit more citric acid to fully exhaust the dye at the end. It is lovely yarn. I am looking forward to meeting you, in person, at Majacraft Camp, it is always a fantastic weekend and a never miss for quite a few of us.
So good to spend time with you Dinnie, you’re such a busy lady! And so interesting to listen to, I don’t find your vlogs too long. I was blown away by your beautifully produced yarn and the best was your dying, the Dalliah is so beautiful, will make a lovely shawl. I would definitely buy that those are my sort of colours. Would love to see where you go in America, surrounding area and yarn of thrift shopping if you have time to film. I am fascinated by your hand/arm tattoo, do you have story behind it? Hope to see you before your trip, if not have a fabulous time! Suze. 🐏🧶🥰 x
Hello Dinie...it's been awhile since I commented on your channel...I've been meaning to say hello! I've been enjoying all your finished projects this episode, hearing about your grandchildren (as I can relate as a grandma of 6 kiddos), handspinning since I am a handspinner as well, and your wonderful upcoming trip to California. That knitting store looks wonderful :) enjoy your last weeks at home and your visit with your granddaughter sounds wonderful. My daughter-in-law is a nutritionist at a local hospital near my home, and she has been thinking of going back to school to get her midwife certification. She would be such a great cheerleader, she cheers me on all the time! Well Dinie...safe travels and I'll look for you on your channel when you return. Susan
Loved this blog so much. What beautiful afternoon light in your end pics. I was in Rotorua today for my daughters birthday, the lakefront playground is great.
Hello, I loved watching this. I can't believe you didn't think anybody would like that purple yarn you produced - I absolutely love it 😍. 💜💟☂️🟣🟪💜. Have a great holiday.
I live outside Santa Rosa, CA. Castaway yarn shop is one of my LYS I highly recommend. I have knitted some samples for them: Love Note and a striped cowl for 2. Another LYS is in Petaluma, maybe 10 miles south is Fiber Circle Studios, and north of Santa Rosa is Purls of Joy in Healdsburg. Thank you for your lovely "vlog" !
Your work is beautiful! I love the jacket. I'm sorry you are not comfy with the fit You did a lot of work. I love hearing all of your ambitious plans. I wish you much good luck. Your countryside is gorgeous! One day I’d love to visit as my daughter lives in Australia. 🤞🏻. Safe travels to the US. I know you will relish your every experience, particularly with your son. ( I live on the other coast in New York or I would enjoy a meet up, perhaps in that lovely yarn Shoppe. Thank you for all the lovely sharing.
Watch the Fleece and Harmony podcast where Kim is crocheting one of the Mercerie blankets. She owns a sheep farm and mill on PEI in Canad very interesting. Have a great holiday in the US
I’ve been keeping up with your vlogs and your mill progress - it’s something I’m considering for my retirement. I’m in Ontario Canada but I’ve been to Belfast Mini Mills in PEI several times. As for your sweater (love the hood by the way), have you considered cutting into the body to insert more length? I once made a bottom up sweater in Lopi and put the sleeve in backwards. Instead of ripping it all back, I but the sleeve off, turned it and grafted it back on. I think the fit is great on you and WOULD make a great layering piece. But obviously, we’re not always comfortable. Cheers! Have fun in Cali.
A comment and an invite! I love your way! Your brain works much like mine, all over the place , perhaps, but very effective: so many thoughts and projects on the go. But wow! Your projects are way larger in scope. Each time I watch one of your vlogs (with a lovely cuppa) I get up, energized and ready to take on my knitting, or sewing, or quilting, or now, in New Hampshire, garden planning. I wanted to say I’m across the river from Vermont, and if you had the idea of fitting in a visit to the mill you are interested in, I would be so pleased to take you there. I am offering to be your driver, and offer you a place to stay as well. Consider it a return of the incredible hospitality Joe and I received when we got locked down on the South island with Covid in 2020, and my heartfelt thanks for your sharing your remarkable project with us. ❤
That is so generous. I wish I could go there but not sure if it will happen this visit. I’m so glad to hear you were looked after in lockdown. We were hours aways from being locked down in Melbourne when on a family holiday. There were 17 of us from home. Was meant to be a trip of a lifetime!
@@myimperfectknittinglife9104 No worries Dinie, I totally get it. The invitation stands if you decide last minute and if it’s in a couple of years on your next trip that works too and you can bring your son along. We are one community of Knitters and makers, doesn’t matter if we’re 9400 miles away. 😂
Oh my days, I laughed so much when you tried on your utivist: sorry but I totally needed it :) Before the steeking cut, it looks like a balaclava, which isnt funny but it tickled me. Thank you so much xx
Your dalhia yarn!! so , so pretty. Landscape dyes? I havent tried dying yarn myself: I would love to though if it's possible to create something like this x
Sorry to hear that your veggies have done so badly: last year mine were dismal too. We started out well but then the long drought here in the UK just ruined everything. The farming situation is I think really alarming. Great to see that you are beginning to get to grips with the mill. It is really exciting to come along this journey with you. x
Please tell everyone you meet at Majacraft that you have a viewer from the US who is a huge fan. I got a Rose as my first wheel 17 or 18 years ago, and I love it today as much as ever.
That was an enjoyable vlog (not podcast 🤣). I saw the Fruity Knitting episode you mentioned and liked the blanket that was hanging up behind them on the right hand side. I checked out the website and that one is actually a free pattern… it does use quite a lot of colours so could possibly work out for you if you end up with lots of interesting colours from the mill. I am just about to finish some elf slippers from Miss Evil Knits but have added the kiwi staple of a divided toe so I can wear them with my jandals.😜
I love your channel! You amaze me with all the projects you complete so quickly. May I ask about the necklace you always wear? Is it a religious symbol, or does it have some other significance?
Your jacket looks good but perhaps a little short in the neck area. Could you undo it to there, add some length and reknit the hood. This may also add length to the back.

I enjoyed watching your vlog. I like that you are being natural. Thank you from Scotland 🏴

Your hand dyed yarn is absolutely art. Cannot wait to see the scarf.
I think the hooded sweater looks great!
I think your hood is super cute. Love it! 😊

Midwifery is very satisfying. A great community contribution

Love the playground
I enjoy your podcast and have a wonderful trip to America!
Love the dyed yarn Dinie - you did a great job with it and it matched the dahlia colours perfectly. I’ll see you at Majacraft camp if not before
I really enjoy your videocasts. I hope you have lots of good times in your travels.
Thanks so much!

About the Utivist hood

I will!!

I will check the blanket out!
It would be great if you could make a pair of wellingtons actually in Wellington 😁 have fun❤️
Hehe
Can you modify the jacket by adding bands after cutting the steek to give more room?
I was wondering that. I will make a decision when I finish it
I don’t see the link for the jacket. I really like it!
I will pop it up soon. It was on my first attempt it is Utivist by Helene Magnusson
When you put through the lovely purple dyed fleece through the carder, how many skeins/grams of final yarn was produced?
650g I think.
I love your channel! You amaze me with all the projects you complete so quickly. May I ask about the necklace you always wear? Is it a religious symbol, or does it have some other significance?
It is Norwegian and I just love that style. My grandchildren call it my “frozen” necklace lol
@@myimperfectknittinglife9104 It's very pretty!
Don’t think Pat Old owns Majacraft- Glenis and Owen Poad and their family own it.
Oooh. I will have to correct that!!
Your jacket looks good but perhaps a little short in the neck area. Could you undo it to there, add some length and reknit the hood. This may also add length to the back.
I agree about the neck but doubting I am going to frog it
