I've commissioned around 100 industrial plants. The first thing a company does when they buy an old plant is paint all the handrails the opposite color they were when they bought it...without any stripping, priming, or prep. The next thing that happens is the top rail peels off lol. They will go yellow to red to white and back to yellow. So the top rail on older plants is always all three colors at the same time.
Regarding the knob under the cup of your airbrush, its called a MAC valve. Most people have a misunderstanding of what it is for, and all they know is that when its turned all the way it makes their paint spit. What is happening is that when you use it it actually reduces air pressure while increasing air speed (not the same thing) due to the venturi effect or something i cant remember. In any case, its use is to paint thin lines right up close where the paint spitting effect doesnt matter. With the metal primer, yes Tamiya and Mr hobby have theirs. I have the Mr hobby brush on, and the rattlecan version. It seems to have a sticky finish even when dry, so i just paint it asap and that goes away. Also, i'll quickly explain the deal with the confusing Mig, Mig Ammo and AK interactive shit. So the company just called Mig was started by Mig Jimenez of spain, well known for his tank models that are heavily weathered and he would do demonstrations using premixed washes. People wanted what he had, so he started selling them under the company Mig. Then he divorced his wife and she took the company from him. After this is the part im not sure about. He had some involvement with AK Interactive but in any case its been mostly AK and Migs new company Mig Ammo that compete for the market. He called it Mig Ammo as a thing where his competitor is named AK and you cannot shoot an AK without ammo (har har). Extra trivia: He used to sign his name Mig with a star to dot the i. He cant use that anymore because it was an integral part of the logo for his original company that his wife got in the divorce. He used to sign his name like that since he was a kid or something so he is pretty pissed off about that.
Whoa! Back to back uploads. You've been holding out on us! xD Looks dope. I mean, they're just miniature props, but the attention you pay to them really pays off. Looking forward to the bay itself.
Honestly he should just have all these videos on his itsagundam channel ... and for people who want to see just these he could move them to a playlist in the playlist tab just for these
Mig are really good products, only problem is finding a place that carries them..within a reasonable amount. AK Interactive also has some specials going on in bundles. I would recommend checking out Luke Towan if you want to see some crazy stuff you can do for terrain Mr. Gunpla
Vajello also makes good weathering and terrain paints and what have you, the terrain goop comes in jars and is bound with acrylic so you could sink bits in there as wreckage or even rocks before it dries. Stuffs damn hard to get rid of once it dries out, but you can paint it anyway you want it after the fact, though it's best to get a few different textures and paint the stuff when it dries to the color you want. Also if you decide to paint on those etched metal kits again, might I recommend some rustoleum spray paint, stuff works on plastic and metal comes in quite a few colors.
As someone who uses yellow panted handrails and guarding a tip from me would be to use a dark silver/metal color on the top of the handrails going down the stairs, where hands will eventually wear the paint away. But these look really really good man
Damn that is super cool dude. You got me thinking about buying myself an airbrush...... Shit..... just what I need, another hobby.... and this one appears to be an EXPENSIVE ONE!
I'm sure a lot of people will find this useful. I've always wondered how people painted on these metal photo etch parts. I wasn't aware there was a specific primer you needed to use first and then use the paints. I really like the end result here. It looks realistic. You did a great job! 👍💯
Just discovered your channel. I have a similar kit it's an inspection passerelle for pantograph on electric locomotives in HO. I was wondering if I could glue the very small parts like steps (3mmx2mm) with cyanoacrylate it's a brass kit. Although it's a year later an answer would be a great help. Kind regards from la Réunion
I know this is an older video, but do you think these would work well as a stencil for painting a pattern onto flat sheets of styrene? Because I'm thinking of getting some of these for a sci-fi diorama that I want to add some painted patterns on sections.
Cool stuff man, I really like the effect. When working on a larger scale terrain piece would it work better do you think to stick to going from dark to light or could you get away with a light to dark style? Say more like a watercolour principle than oil?
I has question: If I put this on the metal parts, then attach them to the plastic parts, are they good to airbrush? I want to put metal etched details on a GM Sniper but want them painted, not just shiny metal add ons.
Not a big fan of your main channel (different political compass/moral compass, and feel your logic is flawed, but that's not the point nor topic lol.) but, I however do very enjoy your work on gunpla and stuff, helps me learn more and more about painting and custom work, keep up the excellent work, Mate!
Yea its cause people like drama way too much lol .... that's the reason keemstar isnt banned when he should of been years ago ... youtube wont ban keem for real cause he makes them too much money off drama .... humans are sad
The level of OCD I'd feel trying to detail these tiny things and no one will ever fucking notice too. Then again that already occurs with my gunpla kits so what's new
eyo gunpla dude at 5:14 theres a hair or something on those stairs fix dat shit or imma tell billy your wasting money on model kits insted of twitch subs!
Ah yes the Bob "it's gunpla" Ross section. Always a pleasure to watch.
I want a shirt with this on it.
Bob Ross with a gundam head painting would be the best thing ever

Well it's not his only channel bro his main channel is itsagundam
Honestly he should just have all these videos on his itsagundam channel ... and for people who want to see just these he could move them to a playlist in the playlist tab just for these
Long term, I definitely want to myself having a Char's Counterattack scene on my shelf.
Hopefully.
Done very well. I like the look of the "used" gantry. It looks like something out of Iron Blooded Orphans (great series). Thanks for the tips!
Watching your Gunpla videos is making me get the itch to come back to doing plastic model kits.
I came back 10 hours later to finish an was not disappointed. Even with it being a "rushed" job it look awesome
"Left and right, up and down, ..." I was half expecting you to go into full "Konami code" mode there! :D
Amazing work! Definitely learn more on the standard paint colors used in manufacturing and there meanings.
Wow, this is surprisingly relaxing to watch.
Mig are really good products, only problem is finding a place that carries them..within a reasonable amount. AK Interactive also has some specials going on in bundles.

stuck on amazon for myself to get MiG

Your gunpla videos are so calming @itsagundam
Can't wait for my NewType pre order to show up. Then I can paint little robots as well!!!
So hows the painting going?
Another day another gunpla.. thanks for the hard work u put into making these vids and these kits Gundam.
Damn that is super cool dude. You got me thinking about buying myself an airbrush...... Shit..... just what I need, another hobby.... and this one appears to be an EXPENSIVE ONE!

Those look pretty damn good bob, nice work!
I have been using these mig streaking and weatheringveffects for a few years. Fantastic products.
Ahhh, the video I've been waiting for, Thanks Gundam.
Monica Billy prolly spending dem bits whilst Gundams in his happy place ⚽️
In what sequence will you apply these processes in water decals, panel lining, and photo etch?
Love your Vids Gundam, you are so talented, and you seem way less stressed when doing Gunpla
I might give this a go on some of my terrain
I'm CTFU at the little guy constantly falling 🤣🤣
I would try my best to watch a stream of gunpla painting if Gundam does it.
lets get him to do it omg I would listen along for hours
Those look like some of the stuff No Ka Oi had. But with more paint on it. Seriously those thing were mostly rust/aluminum that had oxidized.
You're awesome at this, dude. Makes me wanna try it too.
I noticed in the background 'Devil in Me'
Was looking at some info on how to prep Photo Etch and clicked on this without realising it would be ItsAGundam

Yo man I'd love to watch you paint a full mech one day, maybe a livestream?
Beautiful man! Keep up the good work!

mig ammo oils and enamels are insane. high recommend from me.

I've used there hull texture for tanks they are excellent

i've started to get into Mig now over vallejo
Can't wait to see you participate at GBWC 😉
maybe a dumb question... where do you grab your alligator clips?
Awesome as allways
Thanks for the vid. So how are your spray tan skills? 😁🤣
Damn that lighter fluid trick is pretty niffty man
Funny I was watching one of your videos then you uploaded 😂
What scale is this?
Dem beyond the time intro tho
What movie props?
THERE'S A GUNDAM DOWN HERE!
Wait wait wait, how the hell you put all that PE together, with some glue or soldering? 😎
looks great
If the build quality of the GP01 is anything to go by, Anaheim has terrible quality assurance
If you watch this and build Gunpla you know what AE is and if you dont, just wow, what are you doin
Nice, thank you!
Very titillating indeed

Papa gundam! You have to check out the new gunpla mobile game...you build gunpla and take them into battle!
Might have to watch this again cause the only quality this video is in is 360p lol
Hmm. like it
The level of OCD I'd feel trying to detail these tiny things and no one will ever fucking notice too. Then again that already occurs with my gunpla kits so what's new
