  • Jackie Chan is definitely one of the most famous and beloved actors on the planet! But while everyone knows the incorrigible Jackie, very little is known about her family, especially her eldest son, Jaycee Chan. For those who know him, the latter is a little-known Chinese pop singer, who still fails to break through, and who has suffered a descent into hell in recent years. Between a critical and commercial fiasco and a stay in prison, Jaycee's life is at odds with that of his famous father.
But how is it that Jaycee Chan was unable to follow in the footsteps of his father, who is very successful, and who juggles money and success? And what kind of relationship is there between the two men?

He cannot find his real identity because he is always being compared to his father to follow his footsteps and succeed but he is different from his father. No one can reach jackie's success even his own son. He is a legend.

An identity crisis. Shows the unhealthy side of the relationship he has with his father. If anything, Jackie Chan probably feels bad for his son when he shouldn't be. Jackie Chan is loved by almost the whole world; one man with a lot of success is the same exact man that just wants his son to be happy with himself. Instead, his son feels this psychological pressure to become something like his father.

If you were in his shoe, comparing to your "great /legend father" what would you feel every day?? Everyday people expecting you to be more than your father? It's simple.. people who are born with a silver spoon with a celebrity parents are not that happy.. they know to themselves people will always compares them. Great respect to JC he's been fighting the greatest battlefield of human being that is himself. If some people were in his shoes maybe they already give up because of how depressing the thought of being compared to your father as a legend. Making mistakes for him is like a freedom that for once in his life he did one dicision. Even if it's bad or good at least he was not being controlled by people. 👌 at least now he learn his mistakes.

This video has nothing to do with JC aspiring "to be exactly like his famous parents." It plays more like the clichéd spoiled rich kid who ends up failing at life. If he made no effort at self-improvement, you can't claim he aspired to anything other than hedonism. The video even said he couldn't manage basic personal hygiene. Self-improvement is a critical step in assimilating into modern society unless you are disabled and a ward of the state. It is not necessarily a natural tendency and must be learned. JC never learned this and basically will either be a ward of his parents or ward of the state, in jail, rehab, or dead.. Life in society aspires to being happy while living one's life, but will never be so unless every individual learns the basic way points of life in civilized society. Time is only precious when you can make something of it which everyone else respects. Otherwise time will be your enemy. Time to live your life and be happy is something EARNED, not just taken.

after i read Jackie's 2015 book Never Grow Up i felt sympathy for Jaycee. i think he really just wished he got to spend more time living with his biological father while he was growing up because Jackie was always gone. in the book Jackie talks about difficult experiences they had as a family because of them not really being an actual "family" the way most normal people think about having a family. they spent very very little time together at all which was very difficult for Jaycee and his mother on their psyche. Jackie's family life with Jaycee was sort of doomed from the start by Jackie being such a big super star. the negative media attention i am sure is not helping their personal relationship get better. let's all burn a doobie for Jaycee :) and listen to jackie sing once upon a time in china over and over again hehe

But, an upward life trajectory is all up to him now. He may not achieve the fame and fortune of his father, but I believe he can carve out a respectable life from the apparent ashes... Keep trying with your potential. You don’t have to be rich and famous like Elon Musk to proof yourself to the public or your father. At lease your had tried and you will try more. No matter what he does in life (good or bad), he will always be compared to his father, this is where the whole drama starts. Jaycee if you’re seeing this:
It’s true that parents are there to guide their children and to give you love but sometimes there are things neither parents or school can teach you. Life is a huge school where no two people people learn their lessons under same circumstances.
I’m glad you have matured. Now, you have to understand that there’s a reason we all have a past, present and future: So that we can move on. That doesn’t mean you can forget the past because despite it all , it’s your own history like being born with a brain paralysis and fighting to get well is part of my own history. I can’t erase that. But yah move on, carrying the lessons we learn from past, in your case, You start healing yourself by forgiving yourself. I imagine it’s a hard process but once you put your heart and mind into something, anything is possible.

Because if he were merely passable, he'd continued to get roles, even if not lead ones; and after a while, with more experience, with his name & connection & wealth, he would have landed lead roles. Jackie Chan had nothing but tiny roles during Bruce Lee's time; hell, Bruce Lee himself got nothing but tokenism roles in Hollywood; but both Jackie and Bruce had the brain and discipline to stay the course & made something out of themselves after years of insignificant roles.

I think Jackie disowned his son for two reasons: tough love and protect his own image (PR). If Jackie were to help his son, people would think he spoiled his son. We all make mistakes as we entered into adult world. The only sad part for his son is that his mistakes are widely known because of his famous dad. I think people should be understanding and let it go. Going through it seems to changed him for the good. His dad should now help shape him and not isolated him.
