the horn part was probably retconned or ignored . it feels like one of those things made for later use but never used or totally retconned for a totally different explanation later .
i am pretty sure originally they meant it to be Baldur since he was the one on their feet and the one looking and asking . later fans started to think its a times loop and that it was a future kratos who did that . then they thought it was Future ragnarok's calling , they they thought it was Angrboda but fans are just looking everywhere when the original answer is that it was Baldur and Santa monica too didnt care much until fans started throwing narrative and this made them say that one year they will tell because they thought it would be too anticlimatic to ignore fan's hype about it

I think I see a connection. When Athena died protecting Zeus she ascended right?
When Thor died after fighting kratos (he was seeking to protect his daughter thrúd) he started glowing and disappeared as if he ascended to the higher plane. When kratos was getting the blades to protect Atreus. The red sky rift appeared. When kratos tried to save Mimir it appeared again. Do you think if kratos died in these situations that he would ascend to the higher plane? Is this like a selection ritual to the higher gods?

Honestly don’t know what to make of this since we might as well be stepping into fanfic territory, but let’s roll back to GoW 1, there was a red vortex when Ares showed up to help Kratos with the barbarians. Although if it is some sort of trial that might explain why the red-themed Hades realm was such a pain to go through. From what we know as of now with the higher plains. Whatever controls this existence is choosing which gods ascend. Valhalla may have shown a glimpse of what kratos has already experienced when he was falling with mimir. I won’t be surprised if this series ends with the reveal of ares ascending due to the fact that his body became a nuke, therefore he too may have found improvement where he did not before.

In the Greek mythology (and many others) chaos was the beginning of all things. In the beginning, there was only chaos, and then all the primordial beings like Gaia began to shape and take consciousness.
Interestingly enough, in the Norse mythology in the beginning there was... order, kind of? There was no big churning chaos, but fire and ice that politely sat on their own ends of the Ginnungagap. Until they started to interact and that spurred everything into action.

Also I think when Mimir says "Higher Plane" they mean a higher level in distance. I think this because it goes from normal norse realms, to the primordial realms, to Greece, and finely to the top of Olympus; the highest part of Kratos' Valhalla. Also I'm pretty sure that we fight Tyr where we fight Zeus in God of War 3 at the top of Olympus, not sure if anyone noticed this or if I'm wrong though. Thanks for reading my thoughts, great video!

I think a higher plane of existence may be related to emotions, it's a bit of a stretch, but colors are often compared to emotions and you have, for example, Red is anger, blue is hope, and green is greed. after all, the most powerful force in the universe is emotions, which even govern gods. And here they show the green Athena who wants to grab everything for herself and the green rift that made Odin greedy and only think about her. In the comics you have blue-eyed Athena who guides Kratos towards the hope of a new life and Thor, who regained hope that he can fix everything, went to a higher plane of existence in a blue glow. and of course you have Kratos who is fueled by anger because he had to retrieve the blades of chaos and was also angry that he was cheated and mimir almost got killed because of him. What if the Higher plane of existence are the deities of emotion and Kratos will have to face these three deities throughout his journeys. in the first series Kratos faced anger, in the second he understood what hope is and maybe in the third he will face greed

I think that valhalla and the higher planes of existence are connected in a deep way. I predict that valhalla was created first as a test of sorts for higher beings to determine wether they would be fit to rule then somehow it was cast out to the Norse pantheon.
Valhalla demanded a sacrifice to enter the higher tier stages and I predict this is why the vortex formed over kratos' house atreus was the sacrifice to the realm but just like valhalla kratos chose sympathy and refused the offer and angered the realm.
I believe the mural depicting kratos' death is still yet to come and will be near the climax of the story to use your analogy.
Atreus sacrifice kratos will be similar to doctor strange giving the time stone to Thanos to save Tony but by doing so saving the universe
Atreus will have the choice to sacrifice kratos to open the vortex to save the universe/pantheon or choose sympathy and sacrifice the pantheon instead.

God of War connected mythos theory (based off of Gnosticism):
Personally, I like to believe that in the GOW mythos, on planet Earth there are rifts in between the different pantheons, and these invisible rifts originate from the higher plane of existence (which is where the demiurge is contained by the Monac).
These rifts act as sort of mythological containers and separators. Each rift hold the unique geography, creation myths, spiritualities, magics and pantheons of each mythology. (This could also be why the rules of the Norse pantheon might not affect Kratos or Atreus).
    { Pleroma > higher plane > rift > physical universe (earth) }
When people expand in the name of their gods, they also expand the rift (and therefore influence and territory) of their specific mythology. This is why wars are fought between cultures, because each pantheon is trying to gain more territory and worshipers over other pantheons (this would be the demiurge influencing the physical world).
But most gods of these different pantheons are ignoring the possibility of peace, diplomacy and cultural exchange. This could allow all of them to grow simultaneously and achieve enlightenment.
This could be why the Monac is collecting worthy gods who show selflessness and are sending them to the higher plane. However, some gods in the higher plane fall to the influence of the demiurge. (because of their new found power) like Athena.
The higher plane of existence acts as a further test to see if the chosen gods are worthy of entering pleroma when the time is right.

You have a point because in gnosticism there are two gods you got yaldabaoth the evil creater god aka the god of the bible and you got the monad the divine conscious of which we are apart of because if you know what if the higher existence is us reached a state of enlightenment and I don't think morality matters it's not about becoming Worthy it about us achieving self-awareness of who we truly are it not about looking outside to find god you just have to look inward to realize that you are always enlightened don't look for enlightenment because you are already enlightened we all have the ability to become gods and goddesses we don't need to worship gods or look for any gods because we are god

It looks like the Spark of the World that Surtur fell into when Surtur became Ragnarok in the main game, except the one in Valhalla is red instead of blue.
The Spark of the World is where the realms came into existence, therefore the red version in Valhalla could be where everything ends; or becomes "non-existent". It could be the punishment for those who try to break the rules of the trials of lower Valhalla.
Which if that's what it is, it would make sense why Mimir and Sigrun were panicking when they saw it; and why Sigrun was punished by Valhalla too for saving Mimir and Kratos from that fate. Becoming non-existent is worse than simply dying or passing into a realm for the dead. There is no way to retrieve someone if they're erased from existence completely.

Intriguing, I personally highlight more the fact of dual sides and the repercussions of the horn in the future. I frankly believe that it is literally a reflection of the Self, like a symphonic clash between chaos and order or life and death and so on...Perhaps the realm of the absolute essence of existential archetypes in constant conflict and even beyond the wheel of the life of carma! But perhaps with the actions and legacy of Kratos they will begin or restart the divine plan! I wonder what temporal relativity parameters the next Saga will have with the other Phanteons Mythologies...

I thought you were going to say that the one other place we had seen that red vortex was in the the space between where Sutr became Ragnarok. But it's convenient that you made the connection to the moment Kratos went home and got the Blades of Chaos, because, as Sutr noted, the Blades have primordial fire in them.
The red vortex, I believe, is the primordial: The realm from which all things originate. The green light, as Atreus notes when he is first shown the rift, is "knowledge" -- perhaps a mental primordial in contrast to the red physical primordial.
And it should be noted that the blue light is most prominent during the selfless death of a god: When Athena dies defending Zeus, when Thor is killed by Odin, and especially when Kratos attempts to kill himself and releases hope back into the world. This, the realm that surpasses both physical limitations AND the conventional logic of protecting one's own existence, I believe is the higher plane.
