Not only would it just have another instance of Kratos killing a goon and leaving without knowing the consequences a la Dark Elf King but also, from a gameplay perspective, it probably wouldn't have been that interesting of a fight. Birdie was probably just gonna do some stompies, fly from one end of the arena to another, flap her wings, and peck
I agree because ragnarok would also be kinda different because we wouldn't hel walkers. Unless there's a new ruler of hel which most likely would be hel, but hel is lokis daughter.

I've thought that before too. Even with 2018, I was glad Hraesvelgr wasn't an enemy. Not everything we see should have to be killed.

After hearing the in game dialog, I was pretty sure that Mimir promised Hræsvelg that a child born from Loki and Angrboða (an actual Hel) will take her place in the future, and that's why Mimir haven't revealed any details. "Y'know brother, I sold your future, unborn grandlad to the Hel Bird"

I think it makes much more sense that the next ruler of Helheim is Atreus and Angerboda's daughter like in the mythology.
It can also relate to the next games in the franchise with Atreus and Angerboda's daughter can be possibly related to stuff like the Egyptian Book of the Dead and Aztec human sacrifice and it's own underworld
I think it wouldn't be their "actual" daughter, but another empty body given the soul of a giant by Atreus and Angreboda like her mythological brothers Fenrir and Jormungandr are in the game. Could also be a cool explanation of the half-dead-half-living appearance.

Picture this: Atreus and Angrboda have a child, but something goes terribly during her birth and she is, like Atreus, "sick". As she goes on her first years, her sickness grows worse until it becomes unbearable and she begins to die. Desperate, her parents try to use a giant's soul to keep her alive, stopping her death right at the middle. Then, ta-da. A giant, daughter of Loki and Angrboda, half living, half corpse, and then ruler of Hel (maybe a manifestation of the giant with whom she shares her body).
Loki’s daughter should be the new ruler, as Mimir mentioned Mischief with a possible successor.

@@KaptainKuba What if we see her being born in a future spin off? Maybe not literally being born, but like, what if Angrboda and Atreus create a new soul but it turns out half dead since Atreus isn't good at soul magic yet?
So I think an older Atreus/Loki will have a daughter who becomes the ruler of Hel. Much like like Atreus embraces the name Loki at the end of the game, I think this daughter will also embrace the name of Hel, though she'd probably take on the name Helreginn which means 'Ruler of Hel' which I think is another name for the giant who rules Hel. Plus it's less confusing when you have to mention her in conversation and the Realm of Hel.
Although I doubt we'll see that in the next game. Since Ragnarök is the conclusion to the Norse arc of the series. Kratos and Atreus presumably continuing the story with a different pantheon.
Just use the term Helheim for the realm
I imagine either Mimir or Hildisvini will temporarily take the title and retire after Atreus's daughter takes the title.
Hey Kuba! I have just a really small theory about Kratos’s strength and overall power in Ragnarok
Kratos in the Norse saga is stated to be stronger than the younger version of himself,but from the games it does not look like it. Now you may say Kratos is holding back,which is true, but there is another thing that we didn’t consider so far.
In Gow Chains of Olympus, after the cutcene with Callipe ends, you are forced to kill the souls in Elysium, Gaia says this:
“Kratos soon realized that what he gained in humanity,he lost in power.”
This perfectly applies to Ragnarok especially. Kratos seems weaker because the more human he gets,the less powerful he becomes.
This could also explain why Old Kratos could beat young Kratos. The younger one wins only if Old Kratos isn’t blood lusted. It also explains why Kratos destroyed Heimdal. He completely lost his human part and became his old self.

I had taken it as, "I want to retire, but as I can't find a replacement I want you to do so in my stead." Meaning Mimir or Hildisvinni could take the position, but more likely that they have been entrusted to find someone capable of being the next Hel
I think it might still be one of Loki's "Children", as he continues to release more giant souls one might step in as it would be just like the actual mythology
Hey Kuba. In GoW2018, Hel's name was mentioned in one of the murals of the game alongside Loki Angrboda, the two wolves and the giant serpent. In Norse Mythos, she's the daughter of Loki and Angrboda. Maybe Atreus will have a daughter, name her Hel and then she becomes the ruler of Helheim?
Or if Atreus follows Kratos's league, he could name his daughter Persephone

I think the next ruler of Helheim will be Hel, Atreus and Angrboda will have a daughter, I also think it wouldn't be Hildisvini because he is working with Sif so the Vanir and Aesir can work together
My thought on this is a lil different. In the 2018 gow game we had a quest where the soul of a dwarf in a ring wanted you to find a weapon (a hammer). Sindri used a hammer to destroy the marble that odins soul was in however we have seen that they have a lot of abilities with the hammer. Mimir once stated that Odin hung himself and was cast into the lake of souls (possibly wrong name for it) as we know at least some of the soul is supposed to go to the light of alfheim but when his soul got extracted there were 4 soul bits (they seemingly tried to make it hard to notice there was 4) and mimir said that Odin must have been so annoying that he got brought back to life because even the light didn't want him. Brok was able to communicate with the soul in the ring so my mindset is what if sindri actually trapped the soul of Odin in the hammer and is going to try to use Odin for information on how to fully recover a soul. This could lead to Odin manipulating sindri to where sindri will unknowingly give Odin what he needs to come back leaving sindri with nothing and Odin would now be more dangerous because at this point he's faced kratos and Freya before and now he's more prepared.
There's a couple other options you didn't really think of there's also a fenrier considering hes a loyal and obedient dog who would serve under the new All-father kratos. Another US likely option I could see is that after we see what happens with a trace we see a giant sibling that would maybe fill the role.

I have theory that the reason Kratos got the blades of chaos instead of the blade of exile is because the blades of exile were greek magic while the blade of chaos were primordial. And because of what Freya said about how when a land dies so does it’s magic the blades reverted back to their primordial form, the blades of chaos.

What’s be nuts is if Kratos powers come back unexpectedly, not because the Greek gods have returned, but because the Roman Pantheon has rebuilt power within the land.
I think the actual hel from Norse myth will take the throne. People also forget that she was mentioned in one of the murals in the 2018 game. Jon ford and another breakdown channel are the only gow UA-camrs that I know of that saw this. You and most yt's missed this. Since ragnarok happened 100 years earlier than it was suppose to it makes sense why hel isn't born yet since the reason she was shown in that mural from the last was because was because Atreus was suppose to be over a hundred years old before the original Ragnarok was suppose to happen.

Personally, I don't think it'd be either of them. To my mind, I think that the tenth ruler of Helheim could and should be the first true child of Atreus and Agroboda: Hel, or perhaps if Atreus decides to name her something Greek, Persephone. It'd be one of the best ways to include the true mythology, as well as give us something we probably thought we'd never see in the games: Kratos as a Grandpa. That'd be pretty awesome.

I think it makes more sense that Fenrir will rule Helheim. He’s another child of Loki, He died, previously Garm, who used to reside in Helheim. Powerful enough. Plus Fenrir only knew goodness through Atreus. So, he’s more logical to rule
I thought of that earlier, because I got to the part where they went to get Surtr. They had to bring mimir to help recruit helheims army since he was technically dead. I thought it was an interesting detail

A) Hildisvini as well, came here to see if you agree. Otherwise;
B) My personal favourite: No ruler and the realm will be in chaos acting as a plot point for the next game

I feel it'd be fitting for angrboda to be the ruler of hel considering she is the mother of Hel and she's also female all she'd need is the undead part which maybe she'd receive upon taking the mantle of hels new ruler, though it wouldn't make much sense for it to be her because if so then hildisvini and Mimir would have just told the bird she's taking the job without her knowing

I don't think the throne has been passed on yet. Mimir says she'd like to retire, not that she already did. The replacement being a future child of Loki and Angrboda seems painfully obvious to me.

There is a theory that Odin is is still alive It's him actually Mimir and Durlin in disguise because Mimir also has an accent in the name Just like Tyr with a fake name and I saw both in the 1st game and in that second in the giants' murals and also even inside Tyr's temple there is an art of someone trapped in a tree Along with 2 crows being watched so it could be Mimir still trapped Besides, when we meet Odin and he's together with Thor and Mimir maybe it's fake he kind of closes his mouth but keeps talking and the head also talks together when Odin kind of talks with his mouth closed like This could be a clue/hint And every time we meet Durlin he's really weird and when we meet him in Svartalhaim with Odin he seems like he doesn't even know us Pretty weird isn't it?

Hey Kaptain Kuba, I have an idea for a next video. Why don’t you make a video about the fight between Faye and Thor? Or why don’t you talk about the lighting bolt found in Midgard and Svarthalfheim? Or the idea of Faye and Thor somehow being related? I mean, think about, both half god, half giant. Both of them have the same red hair for some reason, maybe they could be half siblings somehow?
I like to imagine Hel in God of War mythology as a bureaucracy. Hildisvini may not be powerful in muscle and magic sense but is a great diplomat who Mimir says could be trying to "out diplomat him".
I have a question for you captain Kuba. This could be a video idea but I'm just wondering if zeus was in helheim and was able to control himself as a dark spirit cloud then why was he not part of the story in ragnarok later on or even the end of 2018. The fight atreus saw in helheim was zeus vs kratos but... it wasn't the dark cloud version of zeus. So I'm just wondering like what else could they do for the next god of war with zeus or something?

I think they might stick to the main lore. I believe it will be lokis daughter. They didn’t specifically say who is or WHEN this replacement is going to happen. I think there’s some kind of time loop happening where lokis kids are all born but lokis himself is back as a kid and his kids knowing their father but don’t recognize him because he’s younger. Since they already have done some kind of time loop explaining with Thor knocking the world serpent back in time.
Personally, I think the tenth ruler of Helheim will eventually be none other than Hel(a) herself, as in, the daughter of Atreus A.K.A. Loki, and Angrboda. They've already made it fairly clear that the two giant kids are going to be wed to each other in the future, so Santa Monica pretty much has a convenient and lore friendly answer to this question in the works already, whether we like it or not. So the eagle may have to wait another few decades or so in the God of War universe's timeline, but she'll get her replacement, and her well earned retirement eventually.
Well what about jormungandr his destiny after ragnarok is unknown also you can notice that he left the lake of the nine at the end of the game so maybe he well be the ruler of helheim

My theory is that Atreus / Loki and Angraboda would have a daughter one day, and she would become Hel somehow. Not sure how she'd end up looking like Havey Dent but It would match the mythology
I doubt its either of them because of the wording Mimir uses; 'Nothing too horrifying' which makes me read it has the promise is that they would help find a replacement... either someone who actually wants the job or someone they trick into taking it.
Sindri is a decent candidate, because he has and will do anything for Brok, so if he takes the job he can either have the time and space to either look for Brok... maybe even just the final part of him he didn't get originally or have the time to tinker with a different way of bringing him back.
However, we don't know if the replacement has to be alive to take the role, it might even be a criterium that they actually are dead... like how the bird and Garm both already looked dead and how Mimir was needed to ease communication. Which I think leaves us with one good option for the role: Thor. He is already in Helheim, he should be perfectly capable of keeping the dead in and the living out and he has plenty of regrets from his life that could leave him open to taking an otherwise thankless task and might even prefer it over being just one of the quiet and invisible souls wandering the realm.
As someone already commented, I can 100% see Sindri be the one who takes the role and I would like to add that it could make him a good "villain" for the upcoming games, since he could gain the power of unleashing lost souls.

I think Mimir being the new Hel would give him a chance to get his body back, but we are definitely not seeing it happening anytime soon if it is Mimir, which I don't think it will be. Mimir is hinted to be from a different land (like Kratos) than from The Norse lands originally, and I think this would actually prevent him from being a death god in Helheim. Another one that could be possible in way as we don't exactly know how death works for Norse gods is Baldur, who in Norse mythology is unable to leave helheim after he dies, so him being forced to stay in the land of the dead makes sense for him to rule the land in a way. I think it is also possible that a daughter of Atreus just ends up taking her place at some point but I doubt they'd wait say 40 yrs to replace the current Hel when there's options currently.
The next one is gonna be like the berserker grave stones were gonna have to fight 9 hel rulers

honestly, I think mimir or sindri would be pretty fun to see as the new Hel, mabey sindri fucks something up trying to track down broks soul and its ramifications are so extream that wherever kratos/atreus are also gets affected and so they have to go to the land of the dead in the new relm there in to fix the situation and help sindri then whoever the death god is for the next pantheon takes over for a while tell kratos and atreus find a replacement, be hilarious if kratos somehow found the boat captain he killed all those years ago and made him the new hel and he ran a tight ship as it where.

It'd be pretty cool if the giants that fled the 9 realms were actually Eric the Red and Lief Erikson, and Atreus needed to follow in their footsteps by going to Iceland, Greenland, and eventually Canada.

I think you interpreted the conversation wrong. They didn't want to elaborate about the negotiation they went through because they realized that they have to fulfill their end of the bargain. Who are the getting to replace her? We know from a mural in 2018 that Hel is/will be a daughter of Loki and Angrboda, so she might be the new ruler thanks to Atreus

She's in Elysium, and Kratos is cut off from her forever, so no, and she's like... 1/4th god, but by then Kratos wasn't the God Of War or had any Godly abilities (As it had been given to him by Athena once he took Ares throne) And then he turned God, and Arteus gets most of his Godly abilities since Kratos is full God, and isn't mortal anymore (Hence why he lived to 1000 plus years now)
