Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

The greatest feeling I can express to Kara and Nate is Thankfulness. I am a disabled individual with a very small income barely able to keep up with the bills, so the opportunity for me to see the places they visit is surely a dream of dreams but sadly not one that will come true. The positive side is not only do I get to visually see the world through Kara and Nates POV but experience the cultures and excitement through their amazing context and communication with their audience, as well I feel immersed in their world and for me this is a gift from two people who I don't know personally but feel like they are part of my life for these past years. We stayed in the 727 recently and are happy to report that in addition to the awesome things that Kara and Nate highlighted, there is now a large soaker tub on the deck where they saw the monkeys. Life doesn't get much better than sitting in that tub and watching wildlife/the sunset. So grateful that we were able to have that experience.
The 727 hotel looks like fun. As a pilot for a major U.S. airline I can tell you passengers are always welcome to visit the flight deck. Just ask the flight attendant when boarding or deplaning. Hope to see you guys in the "friendly skies." 😉

If you'd like to know, at 9:40 that handle is how the front wheel moves when taxiing on the ground (basically what is used to turn the plane when going to the runway).

It controls the rudder which is hooked up to the hydraulics to turn the nose wheel on the ground

We went to Costa Rica at Christmas, and it’s been so fun to relive our trip through your last two videos. We were nodding our heads in agreement the whole time-what an amazing place! We didn’t get to stay at Costa Verde (bummer) but did eat at El Avion!! So cool!!

Loved this video guys! I was lucky enough to stay in this room/plane on our honeymoon in 2016. It was such a special place to stay as part of our first trip to Costa Rica. The view from the cockpit is amazing!! One of my favorite memories is when a storm rolled through and the power would cut in and out. We were perched in the cockpit just watching the storm, lightning bouncing around the ocean below. The whole Costa Verde resort is beautiful! We spent two nights in the plane and another two nights in one of Costa Verde's beautiful rooms: rock wall, beautiful teak walls. You can't go wrong. I love Costa Rica (the beaches, the jungle, the wildlife, the PEOPLE!!) so much and am eager to see more of your videos while you're there.

Hey Kara and Nate! I think y'all will love the houseboat tour in Kerala, India. It takes you through the backwaters of Kerala, and it is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Also, there is a full-sized bed, meals are cooked on the boat, and totally relaxing!

At the air plane restaurant, I ate there too! Lol. Pretty fun place and lots of good food! I also saw a tropical storm coming into Costa Rica when sitting at the restaurant. Seeing the lightning over the ocean was so much fun. I had a lot of fun in Costa Rica when I was 17 years old.

This is now a place I'd like to visit. The whole plane thing is awesome. I didn't really think I would want to go to Costa Rica, but I think I would love seeing the waterfalls and staying in the plane.
Love, love, loved Costa Rica and it’s beauty! Swimming in the falls, swimming in the hot springs and even the volcano we visited was beautiful! The people there are the sweetest and those fresh fruit drinks they make are unforgettable! It’s by far my favorite place on the planet to visit! Watch those monkeys though they are little brats sometimes 😂

Where I live in Langhorne Pennsylvania, there used to be an airplane turned into a restaurant. It was so iconic. It was a sad day when they took down.

I am thrilled that you are loving Costa Rica! I have fond memories of CR. My husband and I actually met there as kids when our families went on a vacation to the same place. We ended up vacationing there for 7 years in a row together, and honeymooned there as well. I've been to that restaurant and national park many times....anyway, it makes me happy you're enjoying it!
