I stayed here in the number 2 engine in 2019 during a snowstorm and a word of warning to anyone who has motion sickness as the wind still moves the wing slightly and you can feel it if you stay in an engine room. It was very warm and cosy though and felt like being in a caravan but I had to brave the snow storm in the middle of the night to go inside for the loo...

I thought that the former prison was an amazing hotel (which it is) but I think for originality the jumbo now takes top place above the prison. This brings back SO many memories. Thank you for posting this. Grew up on 47’s and flew last in 1980 from HNL to SGO on UAL. 47’s were and, to me, still are the Queen’s of the skies.
Where your sleeping accommodations area was the actual lounge for First Class.
Pan Am and UAL had a piano on this deck for specific flights.
UA cooked a full rib eye roast with all the fixings. Served on a table cloth, china, true silverware, crystal for your beverages.
Dessert might be a cart with four different ice creams all the toppings you might want with wafer or other special cookies.
Occasionally, freshly back chocolate chip cookies. And so much more.
    Yup I was spoiled.

This hotel looks fabulous, Tim. Someone hit on to a good idea with this plane without a doubt. It's amazing about the size of these aircraft, and it's hard to take it in that the first of these started flying in early 1969! They still look ultra-modern in my opinion. The conversion to this hotel is absolutely stunning, and some of the original features still surviving, like the cockpit controls, and some of the passenger seats. Great, and many thanks for this video showing.

I worked at airports for years, and yes they are large (the bigger ones obviously), but there is one aircraft that would always impress me and I did have a slight chill about it, almost to the point that I was scared. That was the Antonov-124, and that was the baby out of the model, lower to the ground, but huge, it is the only aircraft I had seen take up most of the runway at Stansted Airport, and Stansted had a long runway compared to most of Europe.

I actually flow in this aircraft back in 1980 when she was with Singapore Airlines. Was re-united again in 2013 when I stayed onboard. Alas not in the cockpit though. A must for aviation buffs.

Amazing Tim you've done it again that was a corker of a video!
The Jumbo was just like the ones that were filmed in the 1970's Disaster Movie's.
I love old films & I love the old disaster movie blockbusters of the 1970's like The Towering Inferno & Airplane!
I'm sure this Jumbo must of dated back to the 1970's.
It was fascinating looking around it & how they had converted it into Hotel Rooms & Restaurant.
Very inspired idea, better than scraping these vintage planes!
You sounded enthusiastic about the Cockpit Tim!
Amazing how big & roomy it looks!
That bed was definitely the most unusual bed I've ever seen held up by books!!
I'm glad it was comfortable & you had the best night's sleep!
When you mentioned cigarette ash tho, I hate to think how smoky they would of been back in the day with everyone smoking I mean you can't open plane windows can you!
Being an non-smoker with Bronchitis I really hate Cigarette smoke!
