- This has to be the craziest place I have ever stayed! I stay on a real 747 jumbo jet that's been turned into a hotel! I'm captain of my own plane for the night, Let's explore the plane and my ensuite cockpit room! (This is NOT sponsored by Jumbo Hotel)

I Stay In An Airport-Themed Hotel! 👉ua-cam.com/video/S-Wmk7mCjLo/v-deo.htmlsi=ujXpi947zd6LeoZ3
Only if it didn't start moving while I was sleeping 😳😉
And I thought this video was going to be another night of misery in a Britannia hotel.......Glad to be proven wrong!
That place looks absolutely amazing! I can't believe it's empty! That cannot be possible. If I had an extra night or a long delay, I'd be there like a shot.
Great work, Tim.
Wow this was the coolest hotel yet!
Amazing
Definitely. Adding to the list! I stayed in an old boat in Goteborg Harbour years ago and was such an experience. Weirdly I felt like it was only me staying there too. Think I saw 3 other people for breakfast the next morning
Fascinating, but feels a bit creepy without any other people there, including any kind of staff, especially security. Not sure I’d sleep well.
I agree with you 😮😅
Yeah I find it very unsettling that there seemed to be no staff in.
@@chrisThurt4269is it common in that part of the world to not have hotel staff? So bizarre
I stayed there before as well. Completely alone. Was awesome. In the morning there was staff for brekki.
Agree!! but hey your own 747!!! Nothing beats that
I stayed here in the number 2 engine in 2019 during a snowstorm and a word of warning to anyone who has motion sickness as the wind still moves the wing slightly and you can feel it if you stay in an engine room. It was very warm and cosy though and felt like being in a caravan but I had to brave the snow storm in the middle of the night to go inside for the loo...
omg sounds great fun
Lol I’d be pissing in a bottle ngl
A bit of turbulence never hurt anyone. Frostbite might though!
This is definitely one that’s on my bucket list as a massive aviation nerd. I’d almost like to see more planes transformed like this into something useful. All too often aircraft like this end up as scrap metal and landfill but this kind of proves that they can be given new life.
Im so happy Concorde was preserved and one can walk around. was lucky to fly as a pax in the British Concorde 19 days before the Paris crash.
OMG I'm an aviation nerd too ,and I definitely got to stay here lol
Aircraft don't end up in landfill almost 100% is recycled
Ditto. I love anything aviation...def on my bucket list! ❤
Im sure theres a man in the woods who bought a plane to live in, it doesnt fly anymore, seems great
Such a strange range of emotion seeing an aircraft so massive that it has value just as a stationary structure. It's impressive while also sad knowing it was once capable of so much more than sitting still. The thing used to routinely go over 600 mph
89898 I love your videos 😊😊😊
They can't fly forever, at least it is being recycled 😂
747's are absolutely amazing and I wish I could fly on one...beats the 737 MAX!!
There is a man in England (I think) who has turned a plane into a house.
You have such a wide range of content! From Pontins Southport to a Jumbo hotel in Stockholm via an ice hotel. Amazing and very entertaining..
Thanks :-)
I think Pontins Southport was the low point. I used to live near there!
Can you imagine the architectural work that had to go into that transformation from plane to hotel? 🤯
Quick history from their website: “The airplane, a decommissioned model 747-200 jumbo jet built in 1976, was last operated by Transjet, a Swedish airline that went bankrupt in 2002. It was originally built for Singapore Airlines and later served with legendary Pan Am.”
This is absolutely incredible. Added to my bucket list! Thanks for showing us around Tim
Much cheaper than your usual stays too 😉
Me and my wife eloped in Stockholm, we saw this place and thought we would give it a try before we checked into our main accomodation as I'm really into aircraft. We stayed in a basic cabin but absolutely loved it.
Brilliant use of an old 747. There ought to be similar things at Heathrow and Gatwick!
I know right!
What website to book this?
What an unusual place to stay. Great to see a unique type of accommodation. ✈️
:-)
My favourite moment in a 747 Jumbo: In summer 1980, as a teenager flying from London to Vancouver with Wardair Canada, myself and my two friends were allowed briefly into the cockpit while the plane was en route. I'll never forget it. I guess security was a little more relaxed 43 years ago!
Wow yes a lot different
Does 747 plane still exist I know a380 is with emirates
@@chriscox1535 Very last one was manufactured back in December. They were produced for over fifty years.
@@EmilyTienne can’t believe time fly by so fast I’m like 27 years old now time flies
@@chriscox1535 Chris, I know the feeling. It’s one of the harsh facts of life...the older you get, the faster time goes by. And then one day, it’s all over.😣
I Stayed there 2 weeks ago, i absolutely loved every single part of it
This is AWESOME! Being there all alone is kind of creepy though. That wingspan is crazy!
I'm a Stockholmer, but had never heard of this place. I'm a hotel(/hostel) nerd myself and would love to stay in that cockpit suite. What a dream 😊
Wow
I have, you see it pretty easy when passing Arlanda airport.
@@kingwacky184 can't miss it actually. :)
10:40 Imagine you got locked out completely and there was no stairs down and back around 😅
I used to work at Heathrow and there is something magical about airports and the hotels around them at dusk and dawn. Its like a world of possibilities (literally. )
I stayed in 2 different rooms in the back of the plane :)
I love it 🥰
Pretty cool place! Just so you know - the "parking brake" was actually a reverse thrust lever!
747's are being retired so that's a great way to make use of a retired 747 aircraft :)
that is pretty damn sweet. odd that it was totally empty though
What an absolutely amazing experience. I was not aware that such a hotel existed - why would I?! I thought that the former prison was an amazing hotel (which it is) but I think for originality the jumbo now takes top place above the prison. If you can find more 'quirky' hotels in which to stay they will rank alongside the best/worst as a collection.
Thanks Barry yes I have some ones planned
I love that he’s treating it like a piece of history and like 747 isn’t in service anymore
I've always thought the idea was cooler than it would really be. It does seem that unless you're staying in the cockpit it's basically pointless. That said I would still totally want to stay there a night.
The wheel house and engine rooms are an experience
Are you still there at the moment
I have stayed in the basic room and its cool to , Of course not as staying in the cockpit but you still get the feeling you are in a plain and the basic rooms have windows to if I do not recall wrong.
So you think it's pointless but you would still totally want to stay there a night. So not pointless then?
Wow! Truly amazing experience Tim. It reminded me of those tv programmes you watch about people with a bit of spare cash and buy up an old end of life aircraft and refurbish it into a little garden retreat or man cave. At least the aircraft doesn’t have to go for the scrap yard. This vlog was truly outstanding and what a great place to stay the night, love it Tim👏
Grand designs lol
@@WalkWithMeTim yes or George Clark’s Amazing Spaces
It's refreshing to see you so excited about every little detail on this plane. As opposed to the typical moaning about scuff marks and dry scrambled eggs.
A night in a 747 on your own!! Mental. Lucky chap. What a night
was the best night sleep I ever had
if only if it were airworthy... that would be a blast for everyone on board. It's a flying hotel!
That was mental 😆
What a place to stay! Must have been proper eeirie with no other person there on the plane.
Fascinating hotel! They need this in Florida, USA!
This brings back SO many memories. Thank you for posting this. Grew up on 47’s and flew last in 1980 from HNL to SGO on UAL. 47’s were and, to me, still are the Queen’s of the skies.
Where your sleeping accommodations area was the actual lounge for First Class.
Pan Am and UAL had a piano on this deck for specific flights.
UA cooked a full rib eye roast with all the fixings. Served on a table cloth, china, true silverware, crystal for your beverages.
Dessert might be a cart with four different ice creams all the toppings you might want with wafer or other special cookies.
Occasionally, freshly back chocolate chip cookies. And so much more.
Yup I was spoiled.
OMG lovely hotel strange . Captain tim
Great video Tim! I stayed here in that very cockpit suite a few years ago. As a pilot and aviation enthusiast it was on my bucket list to stay here for years, so great to see it on your channel! The plane itself is a rare Boeing 747-200, also known as the classic series. Fantastic to see something that would have been scrapped turned into something so unique. Keep up the great work Tim, all the best.
Thanks for sharing!
This should be the smoothest flight ever.
I grew up in an airforce base town and we had an airplane restaurant that was pretty interesting. Really unusual hotel experience for you!
sounds amazing
Thanks yet again for sharing the 'walk with tim', tour. It did feel a bit spooky, but I don't think I could sleep in the plane, or the ice bed, but loving the places that I will probably never get round to. But I enjoyed every minute 💚
Glad you enjoyed it Emma
This is just fantastic, shot to the top of my bucket list! Thanks for an amazing video 😊
and best room in the place lol
Lol the beds remind me of Carnival Cruise how its 2 twin beds put together.😂
Youre the best youtube tour guide ever. Ive watched lots of them, and you done a fabulous job. Wow...nice plane hotel as well. Ive been wanting to build my airline home, and this helps.
Thank you! 😃
First Aviation(ish) based content i have brought my self able to watch since losing my son who was training to be a commercial pilot during the lockdown. Kudos to you Tim for that, very enjoyable video looked an awesome place to stay, he would have loved that
So sorry to hear that peter
Thank you Tim and Excession 👍
I needed this today, been a tough weekend. Thank you Tim
Happy to help
This video brings back so many wonderful memories. I was a flight attendant and started flying the 747-200 in 1980. My all-time favourite aircraft.
This hotel looks fabulous, Tim. Someone hit on to a good idea with this plane without a doubt. It's amazing about the size of these aircraft, and it's hard to take it in that the first of these started flying in early 1969! They still look ultra-modern in my opinion. The conversion to this hotel is absolutely stunning, and some of the original features still surviving, like the cockpit controls, and some of the passenger seats. Great, and many thanks for this video showing.
Great video thanks. The 747 is and was definitely the queen of the skies. I had the privilege of flying first class from Bangkok to Heathrow on a BA 747, a wonderful experience I won’t forget.
This video was pretty PLANE .....😎
Cley Windmill in Norfolk is another pretty unique place you could stay (not sure if you've been before!) You can explore inside all the windmill mechanics and things
I love these unusual hotel videos. I dream really vividly, so watching these before bed is the perfect inspiration for visiting interesting places while I’m asleep. Great stuff Tim ☺️👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! What an experience! I have flown several times on a 747 but actually _staying in one as a "hotel"_ is truly another experience! Thanks for sharing, Tim! Absolutely amazing vid!
Have to admit, I would rather fly from A to B on a jumbo jet or any plane.. something very weird about staying put on the ground.. 🤔
Thanks
wow, I absolutely LOVE the concept of this hotel - these really different places astound me!
They should have split the rooms into the different classes like Economy, Business etc. And have some of the rooms' beds be an actual lie flat seat as beds. that would be dope.
Dope?
Looks amazing Tim , the beautiful 747 has been around for years as we know but they always amaze me that there is a set of stairs in an aeroplane
I had no idea the planes were so large, I've only flown to Ireland and Ibiza! Great video
Checkout planes such as the A380 airbus beluga xl an124 and an 225 (the biggest)
Lovely memories for you of horse riding in the snow and now the plane hotel. Wow
I would love to stay there, like you say it needs a bit of a tidy up with the paint work. But what an experience. I flew on a PanAm 747 in 1985!
pretty incredible! although id be worried that it would randomly become sentient and fly away lol!
ha
I worked at airports for years, and yes they are large (the bigger ones obviously), but there is one aircraft that would always impress me and I did have a slight chill about it, almost to the point that I was scared. That was the Antonov-124, and that was the baby out of the model, lower to the ground, but huge, it is the only aircraft I had seen take up most of the runway at Stansted Airport, and Stansted had a long runway compared to most of Europe.
I saw the Antonov 124 here in Adelaide. It was pulled up next to my gate while waiting for a flight to Sydney one morning for work, the size was unbelievable!
This is a very cool hotel. I would definitely love to stay here with the grandkids. Thanks for this video.
That odly felt spooky, dude, like i felt scared.
17:41 If I ever get this suite myself, I am following a goodnight like this with a deadpan, "Last night I dreamed my hotel got hijacked."
Also I think the management dropped the ball by not putting a cheap gaming chair as a replacement for the pilot seat complete with a working flight simulator VR headset. Like, you're in the Pilot's chair of a friggin 747, why not really complete the experience?
All the same, despite being slightly rough around the edges this looks like a really cool place to visit, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing a piece of aviation glory, long live the Boeing 747!!
Our pleasure!
for such a unique hotel is it very plane ✈️
So that's what an air B&B looks like.
Alone in a haunted aircraft? What a treat for a bunch of role players, acting out "The vanishing (and crash) of panam flight xxxxxx"! But I guess they'd better book the entire aircraft for that...
Great video! It warms the heart of an old swedish ice bear! (Btw, did you know that when we swedes talk about polar bears in swedish, we say ice bears. Everybody NOT swedish spoken hear it as "iced beers" This is one of the biggest problems we have in international relations...)
cheers! /CS
Its haunted....!!!
Looks like such a unique concept. I imagine it was a little weird having it all to yourself….no staff ? Could you share what it cost in either $ or £. ?
At the live premiere of the video. Thanks for being you Tim!
:-)
A new take on the airport hotel theme!
You are amazing..very much like James Bond. How exciting to see what you’re up to next!Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.much love from California America
lol thanks Tricia, where about in California
Hi Tim!we are from a town named Manteca in between Sacramento and San Francisco. Thanks so much for your fantastic videos .We think you are the greatest!
If you ever find yourself in Everett, Washington State, you can tour the Boeing plant where they manufacture them (although the very last one just rolled off the production line in December.)
If you think the plane is huge, you should see the plant where they're made! It's the largest building in the world.
wow
It even has a receptionist! Mind blow
I swear that if we had half the opportunity, in the morning you would look out the window and see a huge notice "Welcome to Heathrow" :) Another fantastic video! Cheers :-)
Wow Tim I'm a planespotter & love going to airshows this would be awesome for me I never even knew it existed its amazing.
you should book a trip
Amazing seeing this video ,such a different and unique hotel.
It really is!
I actually flow in this aircraft back in 1980 when she was with Singapore Airlines. Was re-united again in 2013 when I stayed onboard. Alas not in the cockpit though. A must for aviation buffs.
Wow
Wonderful transformation of a plane into a hotel. Incredible n lovely 😊❤
Amazing Tim you've done it again that was a corker of a video!
The Jumbo was just like the ones that were filmed in the 1970's Disaster Movie's.
I love old films & I love the old disaster movie blockbusters of the 1970's like The Towering Inferno & Airplane!
I'm sure this Jumbo must of dated back to the 1970's.
It was fascinating looking around it & how they had converted it into Hotel Rooms & Restaurant.
Very inspired idea, better than scraping these vintage planes!
You sounded enthusiastic about the Cockpit Tim!
Amazing how big & roomy it looks!
That bed was definitely the most unusual bed I've ever seen held up by books!!
I'm glad it was comfortable & you had the best night's sleep!
When you mentioned cigarette ash tho, I hate to think how smoky they would of been back in the day with everyone smoking I mean you can't open plane windows can you!
Being an non-smoker with Bronchitis I really hate Cigarette smoke!
Thanks for watching bex
@@WalkWithMeTim I'll always watch your Videos Tim wild horses wouldn't drag me away!
Wow, fantastic tour Tim, a bit spooky for me with no staff around. It's too quiet.🤔
Swap the pillows around then you can watch tv 😁
Totally awesome. Enjoy your time
Thank you! Will do!
This is sooo cool! You really come up with some unique places to stay 😊
I try lol
What a hotel and experience. I’ve always wanted to do this. I’m definitely going to be booking soon 😂. Thanks for the upload Tim
You should!
I've got to check this out! We'll done video!!
Thanks for the video, have passed this plane many times at Arlanda, lovely to actually see inside it.
Glad you enjoyed it
That’s so cool I’d love to stay there, I bet it was weird being on your own tho? But cool to look around and see what’s what. Thanks for another great video Tim 😊
Very!
Wow! What an unusual place to stay Tim! Another brilliant video - loved it! Cheers, Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it
This plane looks so good! Wish I could go on there >:(
Being a frequent traveller and aircraft lover, I think this is the best video I've seen of any hotel review. I love it!
A perfect time for an age related question 😂
Who remembers Jimbo ?
I was going to perm my hair later but I’m going to watch this instead
Jimbo lol
I used to love it! .. Good choice 👌
@@WalkWithMeTim I still have my Jimbo and the jet set annual from 1986 👍🏼😂
Honestly, you're like a kid at Christmas! ;) Thankyou, Tim - that was really interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this. It should be done more often then scrapping these lovely flying birds
That's so cool!!! I want to stay there
Very interesting something different to holiday in
Sorry I missed you Tim. Walking on the treadmill today as it is raining outside. Hope you and Gaby are enjoying your Sunday.Take care guys and have a wonderful week💕
What an unusual concept for a hotel. Its an experience anyways. I'd love to stay there and I am not even a plane lover. Its just different.
Wow that looks awesome!!!
I would stay here it looks amazing
Wow Tim, I’ve got to stay there! I worked in the airline industry for 27 years, a lot of them with 747s, I never got used to the size of them either. Great video!
Thanks
wow I loved this! no room for the cot tho :-)
I know :-(
Tim that look a fab experience thanks for showcasing this.
Thanks for video. It’s amazing.
