    📆 Weapons Wednesday Series
    Each week, we choose and review various knives, axes, swords, and self-defense weapons to demonstrate their worth and let you decide the winner. We comb through the world of weapons to bring ones we think you'll love, plus our favorites, and show them off each week. Our goal is to give a fair and honest review of each weapon, putting it through a literal battery of tests to see how it performs.

    Thanks for another Weapons Wednesday!
    In terms of the deadliest weapon, I'll probably have to vote for the Chinese Hook Swords on the poll. In terms of my favorite, the Indestructible Plastic Hook Cane would be my choice. I bought a similar cane several years ago before I knew that you guys existed (maybe even before you started). I've had good luck with that cane. I leave it in my car at all times in case I forget my regular cane. I use a cane for balance and can sometimes forget to bring my cane when I'm in a hurry. These are good, sturdy canes.
    I've heard that TSA sometimes doesn't like the canes that have a dramatically sharp tip on the hook. Maybe one would want to get a backup cane and dull the point a little bit before taking the cane on an airplane.
    I really like that they make these canes long with the option of cutting them to fit. I wish more companies would do that with canes.

      Thank you, my friend! I can totally understand why the TSA might be concerned about that. If you had to, you could definitely saw off or sand down that tip, but that would take away some of the functionality. Have an awesome week!

    To be fair to the fan it is aluminum ribs and also even the best fan probably wasn't meant to function as a weapon for super long. Meaning that it was a self-defense weapon in all likelihood and only had to save your butt once before you might have to replace it. That's not necessarily a bad thing as many sticks using self-defense might only lasts a fight before breaking or taking enough damage that they needed to be replaced.
    If the ribs of the fan were tempered steel, or possibly thick bamboo, they wouldn't bend.

      I do have steel fans. They are MUCH stronger and way heavier than the Aluminum Dragon Fan. I prefer to teach with the Aluminum Fan. 😉

    nice product presentations and full demo!! I'm thinking the tiger hooks are the most deadly of the three examples; the can*e* however, appears more practical for everyday use and deadly in the hands of a skilled practioner!! That being said, even the Dragon fan can't be blown off!!

    I prefer the design of the 9 tooth hook swords over the tiger hook swords. I'm not a Chinese arts practitioner so that's my opinion as an outsider & going on my experience from European arts. To be fair I see tiger hooks a lot more so either they are actually better in design or just a lot better known/popular in the West.

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  5 місяців тому +1

      That makes sense to me, brother! You’re right…I rarely see the 9-tooth ones either. Have an awesome week, my friend!

    • @asa-punkatsouthvinland7145
      @asa-punkatsouthvinland7145 5 місяців тому

      @@Karatemart part of the reason I like the 19th hooks better is that the hook is on the back side & a more spike shape. To me this means the forward Edge has better cutting potential and the back hook can not only be used for hooking and trapping but also for penetration like a spike.
      From my Western background it sort of is like having aspects of a a sword and a warpick combined.
