This finale episode was such a perfect end to a perfectly spectacular and marvelous audio drama! It was both proud and honored to have witnessed this project being brought to life, Literally everyone the writers, VA's and artists all did an absolutely phenomenal and brilliant job on this make no mistake about it! Truly sensational and divine work guys!!!
And even though you most likely don't plan on it Sugar Cloud, Part of me is already hoping this fantastic series will get a sequel in the future!
This is without a doubt, the best cinematic experience I’ve had in years. I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun. Not me crying real tears over the mlp fanfic royalty au! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so obvious that there was so much love in the creation of this. When I first decided to listen to this I was expecting a radio play, and I was so amazed every step of the way. The art?! So unexpected for me, and it ranged everywhere from charming to breathtaking, the experience was elevated by them. Also I’ve been obsessed with Moonstone’s little horn crown the whole time, peak character design. I can’t believe the continuity with the outfits, and all of Fluttershy’s hairstyles. It was just such a marvelous addition, giving the story such grounding and flavor.
The voice acting was top notch, it was obvious that everyone was giving it their all. I was really impressed by how close the impressions were, especially with Discord, who is not easy to imitate. I love the way Twlight’s VA would pronounce “Moonstone”, there was just something that hit my brain the right way. Pinkie’s VA did her impression so well, and singing like Pinkie too? Plus a bonus Cheese Sandwich ship is chef’s kiss. Moonstone’s VA won me over and made me adore this character, he was so filled with life, and MY GOODNESS what a singer he is! I was SO so so blown away when this became a musical, with original songs!? (and the intro being an inuyasha song is just the cherry on top, and it is has been stuck in my head for days now so thaaaank you.)
The final product, admittedly, has some rough edges here and there. Narratively there were a few things I might have tightened up here and there, a few small changes that could have been made, but overall I’m so incredibly satisfied. I talked my poor blue collar husband’s ear off about the whole thing. This story is jampacked with tropes, and to my delight it is many of my favorite tropes, but at no point does it feel cliché. There were times when I expected the plot to zig and then it zagged on me. Fluttershy was written as such a wonderful, and increasingly rare, strong female character. Her strength came from within, from her grace, empathy, femininity, kindness, and love. Oh I’m such a sucker for these themes, they’re so archetypal and it’s wonderful. Discord’s arc was so heartwarming, balancing so well with Fluttershy. Equally, exploring his masculinity (strength, anger, protection, love, humility) is, in my opinion, a narrative well that is tapped far too infrequently of late. The story felt like a fairytale, but if you could stretch out a simple folk story into a novel (all while losing none of the quality, punch, pacing, and themes which is nuts and pitfall I’ve seen so many fairytale-esque stories fall victim to!)
For the side characters: OH Moonstone, what an unexpected beloved character for me. My unexpected fav. I hope his future is also filled with love and friendship, because my guy WENT THROUGH it. (Also Pinkie, who had some trauma. as a treat.) Snow Lilly, who I had thought at first might annoy me, quickly became endearing and beloved to me as well. Twilight was written so tenderly, really capturing that big sister vibe. I was so SHOCKED when the King was killed! I thought he would be safe, and the shock was visceral. I thought it took real balls to kill him off, and my goodness it offered so much to the plot! Suffice it to say, I really loved everyone. (Although as a Rarity fan I do feel a touch shafted. jk I am grateful for the Rarity crumbs when I’m given this absolute Fluttercord MEAL.)
It’s so obvious that so much hard work and dedication was needed to pull this off. I want to thank each of you, everyone involved, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I love stories and storytelling, I spend a lot of time thinking about them, writing, reading, etc. I also enjoy reviews of media -so I am sorry for this wall of text, but I had thoughts and I can’t keep them to myself- and lately I have been watching a lot of critical reviews. It really feels like so many stories coming out today are just awful. Piss poor writing. Weak, bland, boring characters that go through no journey and have no arc. I’ve actually been pretty bummed about the state of things for a while now. I don’t want to be dramatic, but this production is exactly the kind of story I needed. I think sometimes I forget that a story can be like this; I was transported while experiencing this story. I had so much FUN. FUN! I loved the twists and the tuns and the drama and the romance and the everything! My eyes feel like they have been opened to where the hearts of fans live these days, where people who truly love stories can go.
Maybe traditional forms of storytelling are going to hell in a handbasket, but the door is wide open for indie storytellers. Cringe is dead, and fandom buried it. I’ve said it for, yikes I guess a decade now, but MLP fans make the absolute best fanart. This was no exception and was such a treat. You deserve millions of views and likes and shares and all the social media points, but I want you to know that no matter how many you do or don’t get, this was incredible. I LOVED this audio drama. I loved every freaking minute and I WILL be watching this again. God was very good to me to put this in my path. Never stop making art, because it is so incredibly valuable!
This review has been mostly word vomit and I haven’t even been able to capture ALL of my thoughts. In summary, I suppose, I loved this. I absolutely LOVED this. I’ve had the absolute best time listening to this. It’s all I’ve been able to think about, I swear it even got into my dreams. Someday I will probably have even more to say, but for now this feels like enough. Thank you so much. Putting this out here, for free?! Besties… I can never repay you. Please, please, please never stop making art, never stop telling stories, never stop having fun.

This is my absolute #1 favorite Fluttershy and Discord ❤️ love story and I hope to see more of this amazing love story

This is it's coming. Like I said just one more final question before we get started. Why did he do it? Weren't fluttershy's father and sol used to be good friends and protect the kingdom been a council of the unicorn as well? This was about fluttershy's mother and geting revenge? He killed her mother by using discord like a puppet to confess everyone he did so sol can get away with this now he killed her father just to keep her mother all to himself? What good is what true love is that's isn't his and running a kingdom too goes on forever? No can't let moonstone father win. He has to be stop, fluttershy, Discord, other got to do something before the kingdom is doomed.

And soon, in the distant future, there shall possibly be a sequel series where a shaky proposal from discord happens with a quick preparation of the wedding for Discord and Queen Fluttershy, ALONG with Discord's coronation as king all in a small time span, trouble ensues regarding Sol returning, maybe a new foe alongside him to help his tyranny, and discord getting cold feet with everything happening all at once with the celebrations and kingdom troubles.

I totally loved this ending, was beautiful🩷🩶 This story was increadibly sweet from the start to finish and made me loved each one of the characters, not just the main ones. Thank you at Sugar Cloud and all of the incredible people who worked to make this audiodrama real that reflects all the love with which it was made. Having seen the final of this audiodrama have made me see how much I have advanced in my english in the last few years, since my first lenguaje is not english and I feel proud to have improved enough to fully understand the messege of this story.
