Another vote for finding a new pediatrician! I had to and its been amazing having someone I trust and cares about our family! My first was tiny too, 17 lbs at one year! Perfectly healthy!

I have six week old twins at home, would love to see a sleep training/routine video! It's so hard to get ideas and tips for twins!

You're doing great. Don't be discouraged. They are growing like crazy. I can't believe Hudson is almost double. My EBF twins didn't get to that point until around 3.5m
I wouldn't go back, I would just get a new doctor! Do you have a local LLL you can do weight checks at for your own peace of mind without the pressure to supplement?
How's it going being a family of 5? How is your son adjusting?

That's great to know, I feel like most twins (especially ebf) take a little longer to catch up. I'm going to look into our local lll, or maybe even buy my own scale to have at home.
We're all doing pretty well! Sometimes it's completely overwhelming, and some days are super easy. Just depends on everyone's mood for the day. Haha. Weston's is a great big brother, very affectionate and protective. But he's definitely adjusting as well, he's more emotional than normal and a little bit more needy. But it's to be expected after being an only child for 4 1/2 years. Thanks for asking!

Sounds like you are doing absolutely amazing with them breastfeeding and all!!!! Don't let that bugger of a pedi bring you down. They are absolutely adorable.

My twins were born on Valentines day and they just had their two month check-up.They were 6 lb 9 oz and 6 lb 10 oz at birth and 10 lb 2 oz and 8 lb 14 oz at their check-up. They are also EBF and their Dr. did not seem the least bit concerned that they were really low on the charts. They are twins and they were not born at 40 weeks! As long as they keep gaining weight they are fine. I saw a lactation consultant because both of mine had tongue and lip ties and she said that according to their training (as infant feeding specialists!), babies should be gaining at least 1 oz every other day, so 0.5 oz a day. She said full term should be back to their birth weight by two weeks and preemie should be back up by three. I think you are doing a great job and their pediatrician is just ill informed and not a breastfeeding specialist. I would consider switching to a new pediatrician. Just because he has an M.D. does not mean he is allowed to demean you as a mother doing what is best for w=your children. Dr.s are a dime a dozen, you should find one that is respectful and wants to work with you rather than against you and is truly concerned with your children and wants to know the specifics of what you are doing on a daily basis not just what the numbers say on the screen.

Thank you for encouragement! I always love to hear what other twins their age are weighing. So weird that he would say an ounce a day, that's a huge difference, ugh, makes me so mad. I was so confident going into the appointment, and I totally let him get to me. I need to just forget about it and keep doing what we're doing.

+Joy in the Journey I think it is just the medical training side of it. I am much more apt to go with what my lactation consultant says because their training is focused on breastfeeding. I'm sure pediatricians receive training in breastfeeding, but who knows how long ago that was and when they most recently did continuing education on that topic. I think a lot of times doctors are put off by the fact that momas know best when it comes to their babies. If you think they are doing well and seem happy, you keep doing it!

I would fire your doctor. Someone who doesn't have the big picture in mind is not someone you want advising you. What an idiot. Ugh gets me so mad! You are doing great mama. You know your babies best! You got this! You can definitely bf two babies. Your body has been preparing for it for a long time now! You are so lucky to get that long stretch!!! Great job! If the babies were hungry they'd be up every hour. Emma is just sleeping now from 8-230 then to 6 am and she is almost 5 months old. So your super lucky! Hopefully they keep it up!

Thanks, I was so mad too. My mom was with me and even she was mad. It's amazing how one persons comments can be so discouraging. So thanks for the encouragement to stuck with it!
I know I'm super lucky with the sleep thing, they kinda just did it on their own. It took a lot longer to get that much of s stretch with my son.

Will pray for you!! Sucks to hear that a professional that we put our faith and trust acts in such manner...
You think you can make a video of the gadgets that are useful for twin moms like car seats purchased or strollers Etc
Anything in your nursery that you think you need or must haves that you didn't have?
    Thanks

Have you considered seeing a different pedi? someone who doesn't look at all of the variables doesn't seem like a pedi you would want.

      Agreed!

Yes, I'm definitely considering it! I've had him the past 4 years with my son and never had an issue. But if it continues I'm definitely switching.

I’d suggest changing pediatricians. His bedside manner is horrible.
