Chis my man .. to get into a defensible position go to the corner build a square land .. when it gets hard to build flags build a line to a direction , get your allies to build a square land next to you and then make multiple farm alliances and build a square/rectangle .. this way it will get harder to surprise you guys and you get the chance to defend better u can only be swarmed effectively and you can spot them from a mile away
Forgot about the line .. once it gets hard to build flags build a line to the outer farm alliance land and continue building there to consolidate more land

I just got the Richard Wheel in our kingdom and unlocked him. I have an expertised Sun Tzu and a 5-1-1-1 Martel. I now have Richard 5-2-1-1 what would you recommend for Garrison and open field for these infantry commanders?
Just start a new character in a different kingdom. You can create different characters linked to your same account through the setting tab. I also suggest being open minded about going to multiple different alliances to get a feel for what you looking for from casual to try-hard groups.

A complete f2p player is at 12 million in my alliance at 94 days. focus completely on economy research first. and dont rush to get all t4. you dont need them all. focus on infantry or cavs. You seem to be just behind on economic research. i myself a f2p just reached 7 million in 84 days. Second, you gotta grind alot and be in one of the top alliances so you can get ahead from the chests they purchase

Sun tzu martel better for open field, you dont want a lot of severely wounded troops in ur hospital with Richard. For garrison pair them anyway u like
