I would have been really annoyed had India not been in God tier I mean not only does it have the most diverse food on the planet it's just awesome. I miss Spanish, Italian, Thai, Malaysian, Korean, Japanese, French, Portuguese, British, Chinese and more but I crave Indian. I lived in Goa and cooked for most of my life. I can recreate any dish from all of the above hence I don't miss the food from that country. I have two god's Indian and Spanish because in many ways they are very similar in style you could also add Portuguese to as it's Goa's main base. Going to any country spoils the takeaway I don't think any reflect the country though I've had some really good French and Italian the rest NOPE!!!
For me god tier was India (agree with you lived in India for over 1 year and now cannot eat Indian food in the UK!), Mexico, Lebanon, Vietnam, Thailand, China (some of the best and some of the worst in China), Israel (esp the Palestinian areas) Middle of the Road; Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Malaysia (mixed bag but nothing memorable), Singapore (had such high expectations but just so so), Italy, Portugal, Greece, Jordan, Spain, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, South Africa, Egypt Not Again; Iran, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Turkey
Pretext: I'm Bulgarian. Okay I'll order my list in letter tiers S, A, B, C, D, F (ordered by quality and taste from left to right too) S means Simply the best; A means Amazing; B means Basic; C means Coping; D means Dog food; F means Fucking sucks! S : Turkey, France, India, Russia, Greece, Mexico A : Switzerland, Italy, Vietnam, China, Bulgaria, Japan, Serbia, North Macedonia B : Norway, Finland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, The UK, Denmark C : Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal D : Romania, Hungary, Moldova F : Iceland, The USA, Greenland
Please forgive me for being critical, but I believe that one cannot make a reasonable judgement of any national cousine from experience with food provided to tourists in average restaurants and hotels of touristy areas. Those places are not really interested in that their guests get authentic and high quality culinary experiences. They just want you to feel OK about their food, and do not make a real effort. They do not use high quality ingredients and they tend to over-simplify recipes so that they can produce more portions in less time and at low cost. To make a proper judgment you either need to go to restaurants locals use in non-touristy areas, or, even better, to real homes. One three course dinner at a local rural family is a better basis for a judgment of a national cousine than a dozen dinners in restaurants specialized for tourists.
I love Italian food in America, but just in my house because having a grandmother who came from Italy, whose taught us how to cook, I have great Italian food in my house. I made an unbelievable sauce every week for over 20 yrs. I prefer over any restaurant. I can't get Italian food out. Most restaurant's sauces taste like they came from a can.
Mexican! Authentic Mexican food (not Tex-Mex lol) So my top 3 are Mexican, Italian and Indian. I'm Portuguese-Canadian, I love Portuguese food don't get me wrong but Mexican food is God Tier
Cost is a great idea! I agree and have liked. I have only travelled to 2 foreign countries and one was Italy. I totally agree with god-tier ranking. Wonderful! But that's a limited perspective. However, I also agree that USA is just "meh". lol It may be where I live (the Midwest where food options are literally meat and potatoes or fried fish) but we have only a few true "native" dishes and that's mostly focused on southern food, burgers, and bbq. Almost every other cuisine is an "Americanized" version of the multitudes that immigrated and brought traditional dishes here! Kudos to them and some food is excellent but I wouldn't list US foods in "god-tier". :) Great video! Been watching a while.
I feel like the foodie culture has really exploded in recent years in the philippines and there are way more veggie options than before. Actually my Uncle has a vegan restaurant out in the province and grows everything he serves on the premise. I totally understand why foreigners wouldn't like fish sauce stuff but I think the offerings have greatly diversified like in manila and touristy areas! But I have to say I LOVED the fruits I had in the philippines all the selection of tropical fruits was so delicious. Italy is definitely God Tier for me I love Italian food from Italy it ruins you for life and any italian food in america isnt the same. Thank you for this video it has me intrigued to visit india in a post covid world and try the delicious food
Hoped that u have had a wonderful food experience in Malaysia. What was your fav Malaysian dish? Thanks for this lovely video. Will definitely watch it later.
JAPAN. Best heckin food ever!!!! From their take on American fast food, Japanese "fast food"(Matsuya, Yoshinoya, Sukiya), to the tiny ramen shop in Kyoto where no one spoke English, it's ALL amazing. I honestly have a lot of favs lol. Thailand, Singapore, and Cambodia were freakin delicious. And Malaysia had fantastic Indian food. But Japan is definitely my absolute number one!
I mean, I live I Scotland and I genuinely don't see a whole lot of difference between food here and the rest of the UK. We like fried food and Greggs and other takeaway places. That's about it.
God Tier Foods: Italy (has to be my #1) and Greece! Does fruit punch in the Dominican Republic count, because I can't find juice like that anywhere! :D
hey guys...its simple... as closer to the mediteranean sea...food is more tasty! i am from Greece but i also fully appraciate italian french turkish and spanish cuisines ...yumm yumm!
Loved the food in France, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. Good food in Canada as well as the Bahamas. Being from and living in the USA, I've had excellent food all the way down to bad food.
I am surprised that you lived in Hungary for 2 years and hated the cuisine this much. Sure, it doesn't compare to Indian or Thai, but it is generally considered to be one of the better ones in the region, whereas British cuisine is universally considered to be the worst. It's a pity you didn't get to try Singaporean. Peranakan cuisine is definitely god level. However, I sadly have to agree with you on Filipino, it's probably the worst in the world, notwithstanding that the people themselves are lovely.
TOP 3 Italy , Indonesia , HK . TOP 5 Spain , Turkiye . TOP 10 South Korea , Peru , USA , Japan , Malaysia . 👍👍🎊🎊🍻🍻 Sorry thailand & india 😂 Thailand food is too hot 4 this list & indian food is often lack of hygiene 😅 🙏
Penang in Malaysia for me. I gained a stone in weight after 2 months there ;-) Second would be anywhere in Thailand And my third would be Hoi An in Vietnam Looking forward to the vid!
@@Yasin_Affandi -- pretty much anything on Chulia Street in Penang I stayed on that street for about 60 days specifically because of the food and atmosphere :)
You do realise that you've put France into an existential crisis by rating their cuisine "not bad"? But if Penang doesn't count as God tier, then I am going to have to visit Taiwan at some point. Or Sri Lanka. Or Thailand. Or ... you get the picture.
Awwww, poor Aly. It's ok that you didn't know your flags (Malta versus Poland). I laughed with you 😉 My God tier: Italy (of course), Japan (okonomiyaki 😋), Moldova (best Caesar's salad and the best orange lemonade). And yes, those countries ruined it for me with food. Can't find any decent Italuan and Japanese food out here.
Oh poor Ally. I remember you guys ordered that Pinakbet (veggie stuff thing) in Puerto Princesa with stinky as fishy stuff on top of it and you got freaked out. I ain't gonna bash yah coz you don't know. They actually put that shrimp paste on default and I don't know why. But can order it without the shrimpy stuff in it. It is actually more delicious. And yes I knew that you won't have fun in terms with food culture in PH. It's like meat galore (thanks Spain). I wonder if you're going to enjoy food in Argentina and Uruguay coz basically they are BBQ fanatics. It is really hard to find a vegetarian or vegan friendly food there. The only place that serves more veggie food in PH is in northern part of the country. That eggplant ceviche yum yum yum! Philippines is not bad in my rating. 5 stars in terms of veggie food though are Thailand, Singapore, sub-Indian countries, Arab world and any western countries with hippie vegan/organic restaurants. Great job Ally. Stay safe 💛
Aly... My hubby and I would like to invite u to USA after pandemic... And for your visit, besides Pho, what else do u love to eat? We would put you and hopefully Scotty in our timeshare while we r there and hang out with u for a week doing fun things, going fun places. We r confused by your diet.. to meat or not to meat... Can u talk about this in a video?
Italy. God tier. Yes yes yes! The best food and coffee. I litterally had to buy an espresso machine when I got back because I got spoilt with great coffee. Instant just don't cut it anymore!
I know it;s about countries that I have visited but can't you still include England as well? I really don't see how it makes sence to include Scotland and Wales but not England given that they all make up the UK.
What should I tier rank next? ✨
Alcoholic Beverages? 😁
how expensive they were
Rank the airports

But I've started to hate people of my country. Food will always remain the best.
Italian and Mexican food never fails me.
No surprise, Indian food is at the top. Especially the countless delicious veg options
As a polish person I'm cracking up so much watching this. You have to come back when it's possible again so you can remember our flag😂
🤣🤣 my brain glitched hard
I think Indian food has no comparison.
Look at the diversity in food and especially for vegetarians.
