      Have a look at Velosaloon in Austria - they have a number of Chesini frames for sale - i bought one a few years back and it is now fully restored with full Campagnolo Chorus/Record mix. They are really great bikes from a company which still makes bikes in Verona, Italy.@@JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage

      I has an early cannondale mountain bike with the 24/26 wheel combination and those roller cam brakes. They worked good when they were clean, but it didn't take much to get them all messed up with dirt and mud. Bright yellow paint job. That's one I wish I still had.

    Hello from California. Hey John, what's your opinion of Gatorskin tires?

    • @JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage
      @JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage  10 місяців тому

      In my opinion I think Gator skins are the best tire if you're looking for something durable with good traction and their relatively lightweight. They're not lightweight in compared to more of a racing tire but for his durable as they are they're not bad. Can't go wrong

    • @jefferyobryan6351
      @jefferyobryan6351 10 місяців тому

      @JJhabbs just replaced (74 Raleigh professional) the skins with panaracer pasela and what a difference! Those gatorskins make your bike spin like a slug! So the new question is: Do the Victoria corso's spin EVEN BETTER than the panaracer, or is it just a waste of money 💰?

    Guerciotti - Gwair-cho-tee (Paolo Guerciotti was a 'cross champ in Italy) DeRosa - De-roe-za. Frejus - Fray-juice. CIOCC - Say church without the R. Legnano - Len-yahn-no. Campagnolo - Kahm-pahn-yolo.
    Great bit, thanks for sharing - this guy's museum reminds me of the Vatican Museum...too many examples of the same thing. I keep thinking a good curator would choose the best example of each make/model/color to display and put the rest away in storage or sell 'em...but I'm no curator and have no museum, I just like to visit 'em.
    Before you die John, you need to make a pilgrimage to Italy and visit some of the fantastic museums there. There are plenty of 'em in northern Italy so you could visit a couple each day since they're not too far apart.

      Dunno much about France but here in Italy one could start with the Museo Campionissmi in Novi Ligure and maybe hit the AcdB in nearby Alessandria the same day? There's a private museum nearby that I've yet to visit + Museo della Bicicletta near Savona. Then one could visit Museo Ghisallo and the new Colnago museum when it;s ready with maybe a visit to Masi at the Vigorelli and a stop at DeRosa on the same day? There's a lot of stuff on the ones I've visited on the CycleItalia blog, but I'm not done yet!@@JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage
