I can't make the connection on your knife sharpening jig for determining the angle of grind . On the base your angle is 29 deg. but it doesn't match the 20 deg. on the tower.
Galadriel: Will you look into the mirror? Frodo: What will I see? Galadriel: Even the wisest cannot tell. For the mirror shows many things. Things that were, things that are, and some things... that have not yet come to pass. Looking into the mirror, Frodo sees a stack of lumber on a shelf, but then the image changes and he perceives that Covid 1984 has been weaponized by the media to enslave the Hobbits and reduce the Shire to a quarantined wasteland. Orcs made anonymous by N95 masks burn and pillage, and to Frodo it is revealed that the minds of the Fellowship are breaking, one by one, for their fearful and hysterical fascination with avoiding contamination has forged inner, purely mental masks, which has reduced their agency to the level of compliant sheep.
Good job on the table! I enjoy your woodworking videos, but I am not a fan of the river table as it's overdone on UA-cam. Whatever you come up with, I will support!
Going for the moonshot: Reclaimed live edge river table or counter, maybe live edge cork inlays underlit with LEDs. Could do it as a top for a rolling kitchen island or pool bar.
Hello. What would happen if you pored a little clear epoxy in the middel of the table right after you pored the black epoxy on? I have a wooden plate i want black, and a glass picture in the middel i want clear epoxy on. Can i poor the black around the glass plate, then poor clear epoxy on top of the glass and let it glide out? Or will the clear one ruin the black when it touches it?
@@frenchriversprings ok. But i think the clear one will run a little over the black. I was hoping they could just blend in to each other in a way. Then I might just have to have a clear layer over the black instead maby
I assume what you mean is dust particles in the epoxy while it curing. I vacuum the entire shop before I pour the epoxy. Even then I always end up with a few specs of dust.
Thanks for posting, great outcome, lovely finish. Personally I think there are a lot of river tables out there already, so I'd prefer to see some chainsawing 😁 Matthias Wandel has strong opinions about river tables, see his recent Q and A 2020 video on his random stuff channel, about 7.16 into the video.
what kind of black pigment was used
Very good looking table.... and that epoxy does a super nice job.

Great job as always 👍

Chainsaw video's. I have seen a bit of this, and I really like it. Thanks kind SIR!
Just curious, what is the table height on your jointer. Thx
34.5 inches
French River Springs Thank you, that is taller than my Powermatic 8” jointer and seems like it would be a more comfortable height to mill at.
I really like my jointer planner combo. I can joint 16" wide
French River Springs it does look like a nice tool. What was the cost on something like this?
With the tax about $8000 CDN.
Less bullshit get on with it
Can you explain how got the correct amount of epoxi resin

Let your black epoxy fully cure first then you will have no issues

How do you do this without collecting dust particles on it?

Just wondering what kind of black dye or mica you use for the mix
early
Good
