    This 36 minute video actually feels like it was only 15. Maybe because it's not just a review if this light, but also combined as a workshop. It's like if I had this light in front of me. The whole thing was extremely engaging with the stuff I needed to see to decide on my purchase. There's nothing else like this on UA-cam. At least not at this level of detail plus the filmmaking tips along the video. You covered absolutely everything!

    Fantastic review. The outdoor tests was some great stuff, good to know it can keep up with the sun. Hope the movie goes great! The barndoor case was a good call too.

    I am seriously considering buying this roller case for my photography stuff. It looks so much better in terms of construction than anything else Godox offers. Maybe the roller of the ad1200 pro.

      You can buy the case separately I believe at BH

      @@ArtVideoProductions it is the Godox CB-65. There is a very similar case in size, model number CB-51. The 65 is narrower but deeper. But the long side on both is 64cm.

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  7 місяців тому

      @@AlexLog314 it’s the CB65. The CB51 is smaller. I’d go with the 65. I can’t believe that thing is only $89! That’s a STEAL. Also, check the CB-04!!!
      Bigger and cheaper!! Wheels!

    Great review dude. I just found out from another youtuber (and page 28 of the manual) that the controller actually allows for charging of one battery (side with the YELLOW battery romoval does support CHARGING). So thats really good news

      Hey, thanks for the info. I already know about that feature but I can’t tell if it actually charges the battery. I left it there for 1 hour on the yellow side but made no difference.

    I wish you had demonstrated the effect of the barndoors. On mine I'm seeing serious issues with concentric shadows, plus, unlike the FLS8 on the M300D, I'm getting no clearly defined barndoor cuts.

    I am wondering if "lift only dont roll this case" warning sign written by you or by godox? If by godox, why they choose to add wheels to the case?
    I would love to see an outdoor softbox test as well. Other than that you covered everything. Great and very detailed review as always. Congrats^^
    It's a nice touch to show people how to remove the bag content, definitely not silly :D Because when i get the new lights i usually feel very excited and remove the entire bag without paying attention. Then i ended up not being able to put everything back in the bag. Trying to figure out by trying different ways and sometimes i even specifically watch how youtubers remove the bag content :D So that was a nice touch :D

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  2 роки тому +1

      No, I put that label there. The primary reason I don’t roll the case is solely because I don’t want to scratch the wheels 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And I mean, any of my cases or to get it soiled and ruining the bottom rear of the case by someone dragging it on a curb. That would piss me off 🤣.
      I’m super very picky with my stuff. The M600D’s case’s wheels are solid, nothing wrong with it.I just don’t roll them.

    One of the best reviews I've seen. Thank you. I would probably hang this light from wall spreaders and menace arms. How long is the head cable?

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  2 роки тому

      Thanks man. I don’t have access to the light at this time, but the head cable is decently long. Now… this light is heavy. If you plan to install this light on a wall spreader, I also assume there will be more lights loaded, at least on my set I do. I don’t know what kind you have but again, it has to be a good one. Here’s an example ua-cam.com/video/9wbAEDsduyQ/v-deo.html

    Congrats , great review ! I was looking for an alternative of light source to creat some 120fps 800 ISO videos using Laowa 24mm f/14 probe lens on table top food preparation scenario.
    I believe this is the best light source regarding power and cost.
    If you have any other alternative for table top images using f/14 and 120fps please I really will appreciate your suggestion.
    Thank you so much and greeting from Brazil

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  2 роки тому +1

      This question is not an easy one to answer. Depending on what you’re shooting or the scope of it, you might need more than one light. But if you have just one light, in this case, the M600D, for food prep, place the light above with a very large diffusion frame mounted on C stands or steel squared bar. Using a probe lens, same deal. I’m very happy with my M600D. I think you’ll be happy with that light as well.

    Another great review. I just have a basic question... If you group this light with maybe some Tubes and a SZ150R, and you use the lighting app, will they fire at the same time?

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks man. You have to assign them as a group. I don’t use Apps on set often. My crew is my “App”. But as far as I remember, you can. I’m in NY right now but I’ll be happy to make that test that for you when I have a chance.

    If I'm trying to light a speaker in a ballroom giving a speech, any idea if this fresnel lens would do the trick and how much power I'd need?

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  11 місяців тому +1

      A fresnel + the M600, you can even call Batman. Take it easy when using fresnels and lights like this concentrating that kind of light on someone’s face, especially if they are not actors, who are used to this stuff.
      How much power will you need? It can vary from just 3% brightness if it’s indoors and if the subject is 6 meters (7 yards away). I’m not there so I’m guessing.
      Well it depends on a multitude of things. Is it daylight, or… bright background, or… indoors… far… close… all I can say is that using the M600 with that fresnel for this particular thing you want to do, it’s plenty of brightness.

    • @rsmolkin
      @rsmolkin 11 місяців тому

      Thanks, it'll be indoors approaching sunset. But with ballroom lights. I actually ordered the sl200 iii and the 8" fresnel, hopefully it'll have enough power and won't make the shadows rediculois. May have been better to get 2 60w Aputure la 60x and cross light from closer, but the godox was actually cheaper than one 60w Aputure. I might just stick it in an octobox and get it closer, but wanna try the fresnel, should arrive Monday. Might have to post a test at long distance as I haven't been able to find one.

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  11 місяців тому

      @@rsmolkin whatever that is you’re tying to do, ALWAYS test it first with a friend BEFORE you go on a paid job. That’s a lesson I learned all the way back in 1991. Try the fresnel, Softbox, all options. And see which one suits best. The fresnel will work too and with very little power. But on the shadows it will depend where you place the light. With the fresnel, Try placing it as muck in the center as possible correlating to the camera. On the side you’ll get shadows

    Did you test this Godox fresnel on Aputure 300d ii, I've heard that Nanlite fresnel doesn't fit with Aputure despite the bowens mount. Maybe the Godox and Aputure combination will give sharper light cause 300d ii have smaller COB

      And you don’t necessarily need the fresnel. You can get this Aputure barn doors. I also have a LUPO light, same issue, even it the Godox barndoor fits, it’s not sharp at all. Maybe this item will solve your problem. I just bought. And if it doesn’t solve for you, you can simply return it…

    This can't be Knowled M600D light, it's color temperature is locked to 5600K, while you are getting color temperature variations in your light.

      @@ArtVideoProductions you are right, in my defense i slept 5 hours last night. What confused me is their app allows you to play with color temperature for the light that does not support it and you had it at different values at different time in the video, they should have locked if the light is not supporting it. Anyways sorry to jump on you like this, you are right 🥰👏🫡

      The standard distance to measure lumens is 1 meter away. Did the same for light metering, and for reference only.

      ok, fair enough. would be more useful if you showed at 2-3 meters as well.
