when i cut my foam, i do so that it does not touch the scope. That being said, if you are worried about that foam hurting your optics or causing a loss of zero, you have much much larger issues. The recoil from firing is worse than anything that foam could do to your rifle.
Hey Tony, be careful using silicone as a sealant, as it’s curing method is what’s known as acetoxy, which releases acid gas over a very long period of time. This can and will cause corrosion to your firearm. I would personally not use it and actually replace it. There are automotive (ultra black)sealants that have much better adhesion properties than silicone and will not cause corrosion. Great review by the way! I did purchase the IM series case after your review.
i know you aren't getting a lot of followers, but I liked your review. Solid. They didn't add cross bracing in the lid or bottom for rigidity. You can achieve that with some strips of UHMW, superglue and ingenuity.
Can't be too disappointed, you get what you pay for. This is pelican's budget line, that's why it is much cheaper. Sounds like you want a steak for the price of a Hotdog. Lmao
He explains the reason why when reviewing the Storm case: flipping the gun over puts stress on the scope adjustment knob, which is the least-sturdy part of his gun. Rotating the gun 180 degrees is not a solution either, because when the case is sitting upright (like a suitcase, he says) the weight of the gun rests on the scope, which is also not ideal.
@@jennifermorgan6913 ummm "flipping end for end" is the same as rotating 180 degrees, which was explained in my comment and in the video. Not a solution for this gentleman and his gun.
How about leaving a little more space between the scope and the foam? If the butt of the stock is carrying the load there shouldn’t be any pressure on the scope.
The 3300 is double the price of the 730. I went with the pelican v730 Mexican model. It's quality is more than adequate quality and will last for years
Anyone know how the Plano Field Locker Element Gun Case, Black with Gray Accents, 54" Double Long Gun Case compares? Is the lid this flimsy? How about latches?
Flip the gun, keep optics in. Wow, maybe you should not be handling a firearm if you can't logically solve a simple problem like flip gun. Who cares which way muzzle faces. Dam, the gun should be empty with a plug if you're going to an actual gun range. Im3300 is nice and much sturdier than the last one.
With air travel never glue your foam. At some point they will rip it out so they can see what is on the other side. I actually don't run the junk soft foam. Mile High makes a soft 2 rifle bag that fits like a glove inside the 3300 or you can get Kizen foam that is far superior. Sorry but I disagree on the lid strap. I open it once in the morning at a match and once at the end of the day. It isn't a piece of art, its a rifle case built to be beat on.
Have you been drinking? Flip the gun around with butt at the wheels then flip the rifle over so the scope is on the handle side. You can literally orient the rifle and wheels in whatever way you want
From all of the review videos I have ever watched, this one must be on the top of the podium.
This guy takes his reviews seriously!!!!! Dam good job!

Great review. Just made up my mind. Thank you!
Great review. Exactly what I was looking g for.
Great video! This is exactly what I was looking for and it answered all my questions in comparing these models. Great minds think alike!

You turned me to the storm. Thanks.
Scored a brand new pelican 1720 for $100, i love it
Great video, good insight and comments. Thanks
Great review. Thank you.
Remove the Bolt and place the butt stock on the other end. With the scope facing up. Easy

This was such a great review. Thank you.
You know you can just flip your gun over...

I got the 800 cause i needed the longer legnth for mu 24 in barrel with sure fire flash suppressor
Where did you get the strap? I’m trying to replicate what you did.

Use a hot glue gun to make stuff stick to the case in the future.
The 1 year warranty is because the vault is made in Mexico.
Vault is not much better than a Plano case. I bought iM3300 for $286.82 after tax and shipping on eBay.
You like it?
@camonly849 definitely a upgrade

He's triggered by that freakin strap...
Lol fragile me thinks of a nightforce or Steiner m series
Just move the rifle 180 degrees, and the buttstock is towards the bottom...duh...
Then the wheels are on the wrong end.. DUH…
That would put the optics on the bottom when carried like a suitcase. Also tsa likes the serial number up.
Turn the gun around? 😂
